2 MESSAGE FROM EVENT DIRECTORS Dear Fellow Archers and Friends, Last year, the Indoor Archery World Cup, Indoor Para Archery World Cup and Indoor Archery Youth Cup were held in Bangkok for the first time. The result was overwhelming with over three hundred Archers for the IAWC and over one hundred Para archers and Youth archers making over hundred and fifty. This year will be our second year in Bangkok; we expect to have more archers than last year. So please register early to avoid disappointment. Amazing Thailand.Land of a Thousand Smiles..Exciting City of Bangkok.. Whatever you may want to call it, this City never sleeps on you. There are endless street shopping everywhere besides the large Malls with branded items to feast your shopping hunger. A country with an amazing history and culture that spreads to outer Bangkok and borders of Lao, Myanmar, Cambodia and Malaysia. Travel is easy by Air, Rail, Boat or Road. Explore the Ancient City of Ayutthaya, second Capital of Thailand with their richness of old buildings and heritage buildings of the past Kings of Thailand. Take a river cruise along the famous Chao Phayo River either day or night to see this city. Pattaya is another city you may want to visit if you like the beach by day and great night life after dark. Thai food is totally different from anything that you have tasted. This food has a bit of sweet, sour and spicy with a blend of many herbs. This unique taste will linger in your in your memory for a long time. Besides Thai food, Thailand also has other international cuisine from Japanese, Korean and European which is available from restaurants to fine dining. Transportations in Thailand, begins for the motorcycle taxis, tuk tuks, buses, taxis, sky trains, underground trains and surface trains which is easy to use. Finally all Thai people are very friendly and charming in every way.come to this city that never stops to excite you & most importantly for you to enjoy this tournament and friendship among archers. 4 INDOOR ARCHERY WORLD CUP RULES Indoor Archery World Cup Stages (IAWCS) Indoor Archery World Cup Final (IAWCF) Indoor Archery World Cup Ranking (IAWCR) 1. Indoor Archery World Cup Stages (IAWCS) 1.1. There will be four (4) IAWCS in for recurve and compound divisions in indoor archery, male and female. Marrakesh, Morocco November 2015 Bangkok, Thailand December 2015 Nimes, France January 2016 Las Vegas, USA January 2016 To be included in the IAWC rankings, athletes must compete in at least two stages, Las Vegas being obligatory. Athletes with the most accumulated points (from their best three results) will qualify for the IAWCF in Las Vegas Competition Format Marrakesh, Bangkok and Nimes will have the same format: - Qualification round, 60 arrows at 18 meters on a tri-spot 40cm target face - Elimination round beginning at the 1/16 elimination round phase through to the gold final - Loosing semi-finalists will compete in a bronze medal match The first two (2) days of the Las Vegas qualification ranking round, (first 60 arrows shot), will be used to rank athletes The following competitions will be organised in each of the IAWCS: Individual (Recurve Men, Recurve Women, Compound Men, Compound Women) 1.4 Points for the IAWCR can be achieved at any of the four (4) IAWCS. Nimes and Las Vegas will award the maximum points, with Marrakesh and Bangkok awarding fewer points. Please refer to the table below, outlining the ranking points awarded. IAWC Stage 2 Page 4/10

5 1.5 All entrants will be awarded 1 point at each IAWCS they participate in. However, athletes that achieve positions outlined below, at any of the IAWCS, will be awarded the following ranking points to their IAWCR. Nimes and Las Vegas Marrakesh and Bangkok Position Points Position Points Position Points Awarded Awarded Awarded 1st place: 25 points 09th place: 5 points 1st place: 21 points 2nd place: 21 points 10th place: 5 points 2nd place: 18 points 3rd place: 18 points 11th place: 5 points 3rd place: 15 points 4th place: 15 points 12th place: 5 points 4th place: 13 points 5th place: 13 points 13th place: 5 points 5th place: 12 points 6th place: 12 points 14th place: 5 points 6th place: 11 points 7th place: 11 points 15th place: 5 points 7th place: 10 points 8th place: 10 points 16th place: 5 points 8th place: 8 points Athletes who have achieved points at all four (4) IAWCS will only have their best three results counted towards their IAWCR. 1.6 Once the four (4) IAWCS are completed and the top sixteen (16) athletes have been established in the results of each category (Recurve Men, Recurve Women, Compound Men and Compound Women) will then qualify for the IAWCF. 1.7 Ties in the IAWCR will be solved on the following basis: Between rank No 1 and 15: A coin toss (performed by computer) For rank No 16 (the cut) - Ranking position achieved at the Las Vegas Stage 4 - If still tied, Ranking position achieved at the Nimes Stage 3 - If still tied, Ranking position achieved at the Bangkok Stage 2 - If still tied, Ranking position achieved at the Marrakesh Stage 1 - If the tie is still unresolved, a shoot-off will be made before the beginning of the Final in Last Vegas. The shoot-off will be conducted on a 40cm vertical tri-spot target face with each athlete shooting one (1) arrow, closest to the centre of the target, as per the World Archery shoot off rules in Indoor Competitions. 2. Indoor Archery World Cup Final (IAWCF) 2.1 The AWCIF will be held in Las Vegas (USA) on Saturday 30 January Those athletes who have qualified will be known after the second round of the World Archery Festival in Las Vegas. All athletes wishing to participate in the final Las Vegas, MUST register in the "Freestyle Unlimited Championships male/female" for Compound disciplines and in the "Recurve Championships male/female" for the Recurve discipline. 2.3 All recurve individual matches will use the sets system, consist the best of five (5) sets shooting three (3) arrows. Alternate shooting twenty (20) seconds per arrow will be used to shoot one (1) arrow in the gold finals on a, vertical, tri-spot 40cm World Archery target face. 2.4 The Compound division, will use cumulative scoring, five (5) ends of three (3) arrows. Alternate shooting twenty (20) seconds per arrow will be used to shoot one (1) arrow in the gold finals on a, vertical trip-spot 40cm World Archery target face. Both women and men will score counting the X ring as 10 points, and the recurve 10-ring as 9 points. IAWC Stage 2 Page 5/10

6 2.5 Following the World Archery Rules, arrow diameter will be limited to 9.3mm (not including arrow wraps); point diameter may be a maximum of 9.4mm. 2.6 Athletes in each category will be ranked from 1 to 16 following their position in the AWCIR Athletes will be paired against each other, following the head-to-head elimination match play bracket (1st against the 16th, 2nd against the 15th etc). Therefore, the competition will start in 1/8 finals, followed by the quarter-finals, semi-finals and bronze and gold medal matches. The losing semi-finalists will meet in a bronze medal match. 2.7 The exact competition schedule and details of the AWCIF will be communicated on 3. Prizes 3.1. The top three participants in each category (Recurve Men, Recurve Women, Compound Men and Compound Women) at the AWCIF competition in Las Vegas, Saturday 30 January 2015 will receive the following prize money 1st place: 3,700 USD 2nd place: 1,800 USD 3rd place: 1,000 USD In addition, the winner of each category, at the Final, will earn free invitations for the following years IAWCS. Those invitations include free registration fee to the tournament, and accommodation for three (3) nights. 4. Related Information about Las Vegas competitions In 2016, there will be two indoor archery events in Las Vegas: The Las Vegas World Archery Festival, meaning the annual, traditional Las Vegas archery tournament and trade show from January The first two days of the event will count as the Indoor Archery World Cup Stage The Indoor Archery World Cup Final is on Saturday night 39 January Therefore, athletes have two opportunities to win in Las Vegas 2016! 5. Legal Framework The Indoor Archery World Cup Rules will follow the provision set in the World Archery Constitution and Rules, except for any specification mentioned in these rules. In case of any misunderstanding due to translation of these rules, the English version will be referred to. World Archery and the organisers reserve the rights to change these rules at any time.
