3 VENUE The Social Summit for Fair Jobs and Growth will take place at Eriksbergshallen in Gothenburg, Sweden. The Press Accreditation Desk will be located at the Comfort Hotel Göteborg and the Press Centre at the Quality Hotel 11. Transport from the Press Accreditation Desk to the Press Centre will be by ferry. Media representatives should note that this is the only way to arrive at the Press Centre. PROGRAMME Wednesday 15 November Press Accreditation Desk is open; accredited journalists may collect their badges in person upon presentation of a valid national ID card or passport. 6 MAP Ferries (Stenpiren, Skeppsbron, Gothenburg) Please note that the only way to arrive at the Press Centre is by ferry. There will be a security check before boarding; accreditation badges must be worn. The ferry to the Press Centre leaves from Stenpiren, close to the Comfort Hotel Göteborg, where the Press Accreditation Desk will be located. The ferry leaves every 30 minutes and the crossing takes about ten minutes. Following successful registration, accreditation confirmation will be sent by . Confirmation, and an ID card or passport must be presented together when collecting badges at the Accreditation Desk at the Comfort Hotel. Press Centre (Quality Hotel 11, Maskingatan 11, Gothenburg) The Press Centre is located at the Quality Hotel 11, next to Eriksbergshallen. The Press Centre offers working areas, working booths for television/radio and stand-up positions outside, by the waterfront. 8 HOST BROADCASTER Swedish Television (SVT) will be the official host broadcaster of the Social Summit for Fair Jobs and Growth. When allocating pool cards, the organisers will aim for appropriate geographical coverage. Pool cards will be distributed at the Press Centre. 12 BACKGROUND ON SOCIAL SUMMIT FOR FAIR JOBS AND GROWTH The Social Summit for Fair Jobs and Growth will gather heads of state or government, the social partners and other key players for a discussion on how to promote fair jobs and growth in the future. It will thereby contribute to the ongoing discussion on the social dimension of the future of the EU. The Social Summit will encourage a dynamic exchange, building on an interactive format that combines plenary panel discussions with three interactive parallel sessions: 1) Access to the labour market 2) Fair employment and working conditions 3) In between jobs: supporting transition Issues such as fair jobs, inclusive growth, equal opportunities and a well-functioning social dialogue will be central to discussions in all three sessions. The hosts of the event are Prime Minister Stefan Löfven and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker. All sessions will be webcast.
