Message from the President This year has been a year of many challenges and key changes. To help us meet this, the gymnastics community has had to pull together. Members of the Management Committee, the SG secretariat, judges, coaches, gymnasts and parents as well as volunteers all played a big part in every success and helped us achieve the desired outcomes. As the sport continues to grow, the secretariat has had to work hard to ensure stakeholder needs are met with the resources available. They have provided the support for our elite gymnasts at local, national and international competitions, and also run continuous education programs for judges and coaches. They have implemented new initiatives and processes to improve the responsible management of the sport. This includes the key appointment of Discipline Representatives to represent the Management Committee for matters relating to all the different disciplines as well as Gymnastics-For- All. Financial controls were improved, and a breakeven target was set for non-sport SG funded activities. Through the hard work of the entire gymnastics fraternity, it is heartening to see our gymnasts make their mark internationally. We attained our first MAG bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games Our WAG representative flew the flag at the Youth Olympic Games 2014 as she qualified for the All-Around Finals. Our young team performed commendably on home ground for the 28 th SEA Games 2015, earning 1 Gold, 3 Silver & 4 Bronze Medals. There is much more to gymnastics than a competitive endeavour, and the sport s mix of grace and power was on display as we hosted the National Danish Performance Team ORBITA Show, a Gymnastics-For-All highlight for Thousands of hours were put in for the SEA Games 2015 preparations, and we are proud to have been a part of the nation s successful hosting of the event. My heartfelt thanks to Sport Singapore for believing in SG and their unwavering supporting. My appreciation goes out to the secretariat team, our sponsors, gymnasts, coaches, judges, parents, and volunteers. And a big thank you to my fellow Management Committee members for an excellent job done, with the unwavering support provided by our SG MC Advisor Mr Lam Poh Min. The list goes on! The results achieved at SEA Games had proven beyond doubt that the hard work and efforts paid off, but as with all great endeavors, we recognize more needs to be done to keep improving our beloved sport. I wish the new Management Committee all the best as they embark on the new journey. Sincerely, Goh Hwee Cheng 11

Marketing Report Singapore Gymnastics has continued to embark on various marketing activities as we believed in the benefits: Brand Visibility on a global platform Network and Build new relationships Direct access for potential corporate sponsors and Opportunites to exclusive & special coverage, features and interviews Supporting Athletes (Through sponsorship and membership benefits) There were five key areas that the Singapore Gymnastics continued to focused on in FY2014: 1) Media Partnership 2) Sponsorships 3) Ticketing 4) Merchandise 5) Social Media 1. Media Partnership Singapore Gymnastics has proactively worked with various media partners in a variety of digital, broadcast, and print media outlets to create more awareness, enthusiam and public support for our association and its endeavours. 2. Sponsorships We continue to seek corporate sponsorships for our events & ensure that we financially maintain a positive net position. Our corporate sponsors, in their tie-ups with us, have seen the benefits of their brands being strengthened through their active involvement in such cause or social responsibility programmes. Such sponsorships can enhance a company s image and visibility; differentiate the company from competitors and help develop closer relationships with current & prospective customers. 13

Recognising the importance of such partnerships, Singapore Gymnastics continues to engage prospective organizations where there can be a good match in terms of branding fit and mission-alignment. And we have seen success in bringing on board new corporate sponsors for our events. In the last financial year, total sponsorship income received by Singapore Gymnastics amounted to $11,000 from Singapore Press Holdings Ltd, ComfortDelGro Corporation Ltd, NTUC Fairprice Foundation Ltd, Hong Leong Holdings Ltd, and a personal donation by Ms Carmee Lim. Total sponsorship in-kind received amounted to $7,800 from the 60 nights hotel rooms sponsorship from Fragrance Hotel Management Pte. Ltd. 3. Ticketing Total spectatorship for National Championships 2015 under cash ticket sales increased 260% over National Championships Singapore Gymnastics ticketing strategy relies on affordable price and accessibility to as many people as possible. The ticket prices range from $5 to $10. Tickets purchased online are priced slightly cheaper than tickets purchased at the door. In addition, at each competition, Singapore Gymnastics also offers complimentary tickets to local and international schools for their students, with the aim to increase interest in gymnastics and to offer them a great chance to support their favourite gymnasts. 4. Merchandise From t-shirts, key chains, towels, and pens Singapore Gymnastics has a vast range of gift items for our supporters to purchase at very reasonable prices. In FY2014, total sales of Singapore Gymnastics merchandise is $ Singapore Gymnastics will continue to promote its merchandise during events and via Singapore Gymnastics website. 14

5. Social Media We know that Social Media has so many incredibly fascinating and creative uses and platforms that it has evolved into its own industry alongside TV, Newspapers & Videos. Our social media channels namely Facebook & Twitter, continue to serve as part of our marketing and communication platforms to our followers. On our official Facebook page, we have over 2300 fans who closely follow our regular news. Our primary social media objective is to increase awareness of our gymnasts experiences regularly with their friends, family and supporters through these media platforms. The importance of interacting with, not just talking to fans, is to achieve a sustained level of engagement so that they feel part of our team and in turn encourage many others to join. Our weekly SG Posts continue to provide news updates to our mailing list subsribers so that they are able to stay connected with us and keep themselves abreast of our happenings. 15

Singapore Gymnastics presented this in cooperation with the Embassy of Denmark (Singapore). During the 1.5 hours performance, spectators were treated to a dazzling display of graceful movements, dynamic and energetic sequences, imaginative choreography and powerful vaulting and tumbling by skilful athletes. Alongside this, the team also conducted a workshop for 100 children called Learn to Move. The workshop introduced elements from the show and allowed the participants to try the equipment from the show. The participants learnt a dance called We Move The World which they performed during the main ORBITA gala. GymFest Singapore 2014 All participants were awarded Gold, Silver or Bronze. Nanyang & St Margaret s both received special awards for entertainment & creativity, and were given the opportunity to attend World Gymnaestrada in The schools have arranged a combined performance and are registered for World Gymnaestrada 2015 in Helsinki Finland. 19 2. MEMBERSHIP Membership numbers have increased gradually over the four membership types during With plans to accredit more coaches, judges and officials in Singapore, as well as to improve member benefits, membership will see growth year upon year. SG is committed to engage and encourage Registry of Societies (ROS) registered associations or societies to be part of SG as Full members or assist special groups to start their own society. Successful examples would include the Rhythmic Gymnastics Association (Singapore) that joined in 2013, Trampoline Singapore that joined in 2014 and our newest full member Friends of Gymnastics, that joined in Membership numbers as at 7 July 2015: FULL MEMBERSHIP 8 ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP 19 INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP - 93 ATHLETE MEMBERSHIP Pictured: Team Singapore Women's Artistic gymnast Michelle Teo Photographer: Steven Goh / Sport SG 19

3. JUDGE ACCREDITATION National 1 National 2 National 3 FIG Total WAG MAG RG The total number of nationally accredited judges across the disciplines has increased by 23% between 2014 and Since we first stated the National Judge Accreditation in 2014, the standard and consistency of judging at SG competitions has greatly improved. Judges who are not gaining the experience through competitions or not attending refresher courses are not maintaining their accreditation. Therefore the judging panels are filled with up to date judges. With the advancement of a number of judges from Level 1 to 2 in all disciplines, we will rapidly approach the ideal state for the number of judges which will then need to be maintained, whilst upgrading judges and preparing them for FIG courses in 2017 after the new Code of Points is published. FIG Brevet judges have certain requirements to meet to be eligible for category upgrade in the next cycle. This has been closely monitored, and judges are being supported to meet these requirements in time for 2017 FIG courses. 21 4. NATIONAL COMPETITION PROGRAMME (Levels & Stages) The National Programme (Levels & Stages) has seen a local review with coach and judge input for WAG, MAG & RG. Updates and Clarifications have been published on the SG website. A more thorough review should be conducted after the Singapore Open 2015 competition in September. 5. VOLUNTEERS VOLUNTEERS AG RG Total Volunteers increased by 26% between 2014 & This was due to recruitment of more Adult Volunteers, which has also helped with the smoother running of competition. This included; parents & NYP students on event management courses. Photographer: Haruhiko Otsuka 21
