2 BULLETIN 2 INVITATION The Hungarian Association of Modellers (MMSZ) and the Foundation for Hungarian Modelling (MMPA) are pleased to invite you to participate at the 2018 FAI F1 European Championships for Free Flight Model Aircraft (Class F1A, F1B, F1C). This invitation is given to every FAI affiliated National Aero Club (National Airsport Control Organization) to enter their team (three competitors in each class F1A, F1B, F1C, one team manager, one assistant team manager and one timekeeper) and to the individual European champions 2016, as well as those junior European champions who are entitled to participate according to the provisions of CIAM General Rules, paragraph C.5.3 d). Supporters, helpers, spectators are also invited to attend. DATE AND PLACE July 23-28, 2018, Szentes-Lapistó, Hungary (arrival on 22 nd departure on 29 th of July). FLYING SITE LOCATIONS A Flying site The location can be reached from Szentes towards Lapistó on road 45. As it can be seen on the first picture, from road 45 you should turn left, towards Kunszentmárton. Right after that (as can be seen on picture 2) you should turn right, towards Nagymágocs. At the beginning of this road there will be a tablet that shows the end of Szentes city. From 5 km from this sign you can find the table REPÜLŐTÉR (see picture 3), where you should turn left to go to the field (it will be indicated with signposts and additional signs). This field will be the place of the European Championships, and this site will be available for training as well. 4 SPORTING LICENSES Each competitor and team manager must have FAI Sporting License, issued and registered in the FAI sporting licence database by his NAC, valid for OFFICIAL LANGUAGES Official languages are English and Hungarian. 5 Contest Director: Laszlo PATOCS Chief Timekeeper: Istvan Kiss COMPETITION RULES The FAI Sporting Code Section 4 and General Section 2018, as well as all applicable amendments will be used. Important local rules Registration armband will be given to FAI Jury, competitors, team managers, team manager assistants, helpers, supporters, timekeepers, media staff, event officials. All vehicles shall be stayed in the designated parking lot. NO motorized vehicle (car, motorcycle, moped or quad) can be used on the flying site. The models can be followed ONLY by bicycles or on foot. The field can be used from 20 th July 2018, from which date the parking lot will be available. Therefore parking is only allowed on the designated parking lot, using cars on the field and on the dirt road too is completely forbidden. TIMEKEEPERS Each participating country may enter a timekeeper and these timekeepers will be preferably used. The delegated timekeepers have to be equipped with stopwatch, binocular and tripod of their own. These delegated timekeepers are entitled to get accommodation and meal. The intention to enter a timekeeper shall be announced in the Entry Form. All these timekeepers should speak basic technical English. Organizers will provide local timekeepers equipped with binoculars and stopwatches. Each pole will be provided tripod, chairs and umbrella. The priority for selecting timekeepers will be as follows: Timekeepers entered by the teams Competitors in F1A, F1B, F1C Everyone, who wants to be a timekeeper and has experience RESULTS The results will be posted on scoreboards at the flying field during the competitions and will also be available on the website. AWARDS FAI medals and diplomas as well as FAI trophies will be awarded to the first three in the individual and team classification, including the team manager. 6 WEB SITE ENTRY FEE Competitor 300 EUR; Team manager, team manager s assistant 250 EUR; Helper 50 EUR; Supporter, Spectator 10 EUR* * The amount arriving from the entry fee of supporters and spectators will be turned to order additional toilets and their cleaning. PAYMENTS The entry fee payment deadline is 23th April After the entry deadline (from 24th April till 24th May 2018 a penalty of 20 % shall be paid, PLEASE NOTE: all payment after 24 th May 2018 will be rejected!! BANQUET Banquet fee is 50 EUR. The banquet will take place at Kentaur Lovaspanzió (max. 160 person can apply, as the capability of the place is limited) COST CALCULATION PER PERSON (contains: entry fee, banquet, accommodation, meals) 300 EUR + 50 EUR + 20 EUR/day (=140 EUR) + 15 EUR/day (=105 EUR) Total costs for the whole championships per person: 595 EUR. PROTEST Any protest must be presented in written form in English to the Contest Director and must be accompanied by a deposit of 50 EUR. The deposit is returned only if the protest is upheld. REGISTRATION Each team manager shall bring for the registration of their team: Copy of the bank statement of the team s payments; FAI certificates for the models entered. TRAINING Training is possible on A and B flying site from 20 th July till 28 th July, All interested teams and competitors must contact the organizers to confirm their arrival for training and keep all times the applicable local rule. ANTI-DOPING Competitors taking, for medical reasons, any of the substances listed on the WADA Prohibited List must have a valid Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) certificate from FAI. 6

7 INSURANCE The organizer provides the same third party insurance for all competitors which is valid for the members of the Hungarian Association of Modellers. All the team members and visitors must have their own health insurance to cover illness and accidents. MEDICAL SERVICE During the competitions, two physicians and an emergency staff will be present at the flying field. VISA Please check the necessity of visa to enter Hungary. In case you need letter of invitation to support your visa, please, do not hesitate to let us know. CURRENCY For getting information about the current exchange rate of different currencies, please visit the following webpage: ELECTRICITY For electrical appliances and charging equipment, the electric network in Hungary operates on 220 Volts / 50 Hz. WEATHER The average temperature during the competition days in the recent years were within C. The average wind speed is approximately 2-3 m/s. Heavy rains are rarely possible. Please, for any case, take with you warm cloth and raincoat. MEAL Menu (breakfast, lunch and dinner as well refreshments and drinks) will be available on daily basis at the flying field during the whole period of the event. During competition days a new, affordable buffet will be available (cold refreshments, coffee and food). ACCOMMODATION Hotels are available approximately 5-30 km distances from the flying field. List of the hotels are going to be announced on the official web site and see also below. Camping at the flying site is NOT ALLOWED.
