2 The European Championships - Overview - A new multi-sport event bringing together existing official European Championships - Devised by the partners to enlarge audiences and increase brand power - Delivered by European Federations, Host Cities of Glasgow and Berlin and European Broadcasting Union as the overall host broadcaster - Event from 2 August and 12 August bringing around 4,500 athletes to both cities to compete in seven sports

29 ACCREDITATION As in previous European Athletics events, accreditation is managed by the in-house ARENA system. The Berlin security authorities have decided that a background check is mandatory for each person applying for media accreditation. The press information document will be put online within the next few days- The link for registration, as well as detailed instructions will be available on the Berlin 2018 homepage. All media must complete the Declaration of Consent and send to accreditation@berlin2018.info by the deadline - Friday 15 June All accreditation cards must be collected personally. They will be distributed at the Main Accreditation Centre (MAC) upon presentation of a valid ID or passport
