2 The 4th edition of the Audi quattro Winter Games NZ will take place over a 9 day period from the August 2015 and feature elite winter sports competitions in Alpine Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Curling, Freeskiing and Snowboarding. Mixed Doubles Curling Tournament The Winter Games NZ, in association with the New Zealand Curling Association, would like to invite your nation to compete in an elite level Mixed Doubles Curling tournament from 22nd 27th August The local Organising Committee has an excellent record of running high quality international events, both previous Winter Games NZ and Asia Pacific Championships, and the event is sanctioned and supported by the World Curling Federation. Curling Pro-Am Event Prior to the tournament in Naseby, the invited nations will be involved with a Pro-Am Curling event as part of the Winter Games NZ Festival, in Queenstown. Each International MD team will be paired with local and celebrity pairs for a fours tournament that will be free to attend.

3 Entry Criteria Entries will be accepted from all national Mixed Doubles teams, and will be accepted in the following priority order: 1. Top ranked teams from the 2014 and 2015 Mixed Doubles World Championships. 2. Asia Pacific nations 3. Attendees at previous Winter Games NZ events Secondary teams per nation may be accepted if spaces are available. The Audi quattro Winter Games NZ Mixed Doubles Curling tournament is an elite level event, with the available spots allocated Travel Subsidies The Audi quattro Winter Games NZ are offering financial subsidies to the top nations to the highest ranked to assist with the costs of travelling to New Zealand. These grants will be given via the nations who apply. National Curling Association of the participating athletes and will only be given to assist national Mixed Doubles team members. 7 Logistics Air travel Car/van transport We recommend that you book your flights as early as possible and fly into Queenstown. Air New Zealand, Jetstar, Qantas and Virgin Australia are the only airlines flying directly into Queenstown. However many others come into Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. 8 Visas Visitors from certain countries must have a visitor visa to enter New Zealand. New Zealand has a special policy for athletes, coaches, administrators, officials and support staff visiting the country to participate in sporting events. Please check on: migrant/stream/visit/visitors/quickcheck. htm to find out if visitors from your country require a visitor visa to enter New Zealand. Application forms for visitor visas are available on nz or from New Zealand and Australian Consulates, Embassies or High ommissions. Insurance If you are injured in New Zealand (including whilst competing in a competition), you may need the assistance of the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC), New Zealand s accident compensation scheme. ACC helps pay for your care and that means paying towards the cost of your treatment and helping your recovery while you remain in New Zealand. ACC will not cover any medical or related costs arising from the accident after you leave New Zealand. You will accordingly still need to arrange your own travel and medical insurance. New Zealand s medical facilities are not free to visitors except as a result of an accident but even in the case of an accident, surcharges in private facilities will

As part of the Audi quattro Winter Games NZ, there is downtown party and festival programme in Queenstown and Wanaka from August with live music, DJs, food and drink.
