Chateau Lanes has a new annual tournament The Sherry Hobson Memorial, being held in February. The WTBA and MBA are running one joint Annual Tournament again this year, on 3 Sundays that are NOT consecutive. The dates this year are: Jan 7 th, Jan 28 th, and Feb 4 th. The MCBA has introduced some exciting new tournament formats.

2 Tournament Descriptions Chateau Lanes: Dec26 Boxing Day Doubles - can be 2 men, 2 women, or one of each. This is a handicap tournament with 5 games (pins plus handicap) qualifying, and followed by a stepladder final. Always a fun tournament. Jan13-14 Manitoba Open - A 2-day scratch tournament. 10 games on Day 1 and the top qualifiers (based on the number of entries) will move forward to Day 2, where they bowl match play. This is followed by a 5- person stepladder final. Feb3 Sherry Hobson Memorial Tournament a fun 5-game tournament, combining 3 games with handicap and 2 games scratch scores. Mar24 Chateau House of Champions Tournament - Handicapped Team event. Qualify through your league by being the aggregate leader at the time of the tournament. Open to Chateau league members only. Mar4 Annual 9-pin No-Tap Open Tournament - Mar24-25 Prairie Challenge Fivepin & Tenpin Associations in Man. and Sask. battle it out in Dauphin! Each bowler bowls one frame on their starting lane, and then moves one lane to the right for the next frame, and so on, making two complete circuits around the centre. Nov5 179&Under Mixed Handicap Singles Open to all bowlers with averages of 179 or less. Nov25 Hi-Lo Doubles Now has both Women s and Men s Divisions. Handicap Tournament. Qualify thru league highest average paired with lowest average. And even if you didn t qualify thru your league, you can still enter the tournament! Ask your League Secretary for the details. Dec10 Jeanne Stear Singles Hdcp Qualify thru your league by improving your average the most during the qualifying period. Must be age 50 or over as of Dec 31/17. Top All-Events winners in each age category qualify for a trip to the USBC Senior Championships Tournament held in the U.S. in August, Jan21 Youth-Adult Hi-Lo Doubles Tournament Youth and Adult bowlers are paired up as teams (highest youth average with lowest adult average, and so on) and compete on a handicapped score basis. Dec10 4-Game Singles Scratch Tournament; 2 shifts and re-entry allowed; Re-entry cost is discounted. Mar3 Baker Trios Handicap Tournament; find two friends and come bowl in a fun format. Apr8 MCBA Finals Scratch 8-Game Tournament, with a stepladder final. Entry fee is discounted by $5.00 for every MCBA tournament you bowl in during the season.
