1 Fellow Shooters: Welcome to the 2018 trapshooting season and our 118th Maryland State Shoot. Last year s shoots at the Home Grounds were well attended by both competitors and volunteers, resulting in a successful year for the MSSA. It has been 6 years since our return to our Home Grounds, during which time we have grown our shooter base and have continually made improvements to our grounds. I would like to thank all of the shooters who participated. You have made our State Shoot a success. Spread the word and bring a friend! We depend on volunteers to get the grounds ready for the shooting season. If you can volunteer some time, please contact one of the officers or Dave Feaga - your time will be greatly appreciated by all. I wish I could name all of our volunteers but I know I would miss many. Dave & Janice Feaga continue to be a driving force in improving our facility and grounds. Hondo has been mowing the grass and keeping the grounds looking like a golf course. When you see them at the shoots, please thank them for their hard work. To all the volunteers who have given their time in the past making our grounds what they are today and to our generous donators, I would like to express a sincere Thank You! I encourage all of you to support our Maryland ATA clubs. We are fortunate as most of us have several clubs within a short drive. Supporting these clubs will keep Maryland a strong Trap Shooting state. Introducing a friend or a youth to shooting would be a great way to support our local clubs. In closing: please try to attend all of the Home Ground Shoots; your participation is key to our success. Our shoots for 2018 are a Before Easter Shoot, The State Shoot and Our Fall Handicap Shoot. Good luck to all in the upcoming shooting year! Carville Evering MSSA President

Please contact Joanna Hughes to register as soon as possible. Camping fees apply. Contact: Joanna Hughes 2602 Sandy Hook Rd Forest Hill, MD ATTENTION ALL SPECIAL CATEGORY SHOOTERS It is very important for you to remember the ATA Rules regarding your responsibility for declaring your special category eligibility. When you are CLASSIFIED - you must tell the Classification Committee member handling your card whether or not you are eligible for any special category, and check your Classification receipt to be certain that it shows your correct eligibility. Remember the ATA rule change regarding special categories. A shooter can declare only one special category - not two (Lady - not Lady/Vet or Junior - not Lady/Junior, etc.). If a special category shooter ties for champion in any event and loses in the shoot off, he or she automatically falls back to the special category trophy. You will NOT be eligible for any special category trophies if your Classification does not include that information. CLOSING TIMES The Closing Times listed are the times the cashier window closes for that Event. If your entry is not paid prior to the closing time, you will not be able to enter that Event.

41 **RESQUADDING PENALTY** It is the shooter s responsibility to watch the board and be at the starting trap on time. No shooter will be called for his/her squad. Any shooter missing his/her squad or changing squads for any reason other than earned yardage who desires to re-enter, shall pay a $25.00 resquadding penalty. No shooter will be allowed to make up more than 50 targets on the practice trap if he/she has missed his or her squad. If the shooter is unable to join the squad before they have started their 3rd sub event, the shooter must be resquadded and pay the $25.00 penalty. SHOOTERS CAUTION A shooter can make only one entry per event. Once the entry has been made, the cashier will not accept additional option monies from the shooter. POSITIVELY NO CHANGES, WITHDRAWALS, OR REFUNDS will be allowed once the entry has been made. SHOOTERS ARE CAUTIONED TO CHECK THEIR SCORES as soon as they finish shooting and the scores have been posted.
