5 Agenda Package Pg 5 September 22, 2016 Manager of Recreation & Culture Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee Lester B. Pearson Civic Centre 255 Hwy 108 Elliot Lake, ON RE: Outdoor Rinks & Skating Path Dear Committee Members: We currently have two outdoor rinks located at the Centennial Arena and the Rio Den Arena that operate, weather permitting, from approximately January till March of each year. We have been investigating the possibility of having a skating path in addition to the two outdoor rinks. Further discussion is needed regarding the skate path and its desired location in order to discuss moving forward with this venture. In addition, some of the users of the outdoor rinks have inquired if it would be possible to have safety netting and benches installed. They would like the netting on either sides of the rink to ensure no one gets hurt when attempting a shot on goal and benches outside the rink boards. Sincerely, Jocelyne Labreche, Manager of Recreation & Culture.
