Unrivalled expertise Paul May Paul May is a Chartered Surveyor with over 22 years experience in the planning and delivery of major events and construction projects. Paul spent 7 years as Head of Venue Development at the London 2012 Organising Committee. His team was responsible for the strategic planning and delivery of all competition and non-competition venues. Prior to working at LOCOG, Paul was the Estates Director for ExCeL London, the major events venue in London Docklands, where he was responsible for the delivery of the venue, development of the ExCeL estate and supporting the staging of major exhibitions and events. Jonathan Branson Jonathan Branson has 20 years experience in the sport and venue development industry, most recently gained from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games where he was Head of Olympic Park Operations. Jonathan has been involved, both as client and key stakeholder, in the delivery of some of the most iconic sport projects in the last decade; these include Wembley National Stadium, the Commonwealth Games facilities in Manchester and Glasgow and the London Olympic Park venues. Jonathan has previously held senior positions with Sport England and within central government. James Bulley James Bulley, OBE is a Chartered Surveyor with over 24 years experience in strategic advice and delivery of major projects from regeneration schemes to sports and event venues. As part of the senior management team of London 2012 and LOCOG, James led the delivery and operation of the Olympic and Paralympic venues from the bid through to operations. During the Games, James was the Director responsible for the operation of Olympic Park. Prior to joining London 2012 James was a Partner of Drivers Jonas property consultants, now merged with Deloitte. James provides strategic advice on the implementation of major projects and events.
The LOCOG Venues and Infrastructure team, led by James Bulley, Paul May and Jonathan Branson [now Directors of Trivandi] worked tirelessly to ensure the competition venues, training centres and athletes accommodation were of the highest standard ever delivered for an Olympic and Paralympic Games. The team really understood the requirements of each of the 26 sports and were able to ensure the venues were provided with the best facilities, preparation areas and conditions for competition that enabled the athletes to perform at their very best. Jonathan Edwards CBE World Record Holder, Triple Jump Former Chair of the Athlete s Committee, London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games
Our projects Trivandi was established by the senior leadership team of LOCOG s Venues and Infrastructure department, the organising committee for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Trivandi has since worked on projects including the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, the FIFA 2022 World Cup TM in Qatar and the 2013 Sainsbury s Anniversary Games in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London. London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games The Trivandi team had responsibility for planning and delivering 120 venues and sites for the London 2012 games. Their responsibilities included delivering the biggest temporary event build ever seen in the history of the Games. This included the 23,000 seat equestrian arena in Greenwich Park, the 16,000 seat hockey stadium at the Riverbank Arena within the Olympic Park and the 15,000 seat beach volleyball arena at Horse Guards Parade. This was all delivered on time and on budget, meeting operational requirements and to the highest standards of safety and sustainability. Trivandi staff were at the heart of the team that project managed the delivery of ExCeL, the state-of-the-art major events and exhibition venue in London Docklands. ExCeL London ExCeL is the largest events venue in the UK and key staff in Trivandi ensured that this prestigious development was constructed on time and to budget, meeting exacting requirements. ExCeL sits within a 100 acre estate and key members of the Trivandi team were responsible for establishing and steering the master plan, which included 7 new hotels and hundreds of residential apartments in new blocks and listed warehouses. The team also led on the delivery of significant temporary event overlay at ExCeL, including prestigious events such as the International Boat Show and, of course, the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Trivandi is providing Project Assurance, Project Management, Safety Advisory and Integration Services to the Glasgow 2014 organising commitee. Glasgow will play host to the XX Commonwealth Games, which will see 4,500 athletes from 70 Commonwealth nations competing across 17 sports. Trivandi s role will continue through to the games operational period in the Summer of 2014 and spans each of its three areas of service; Strategic Consulting, Project Management and Project Assurance. Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Trivandi provided Project Assurance Services to the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) on the event preparations for the inaugural Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Summer Event Series. Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park 2013 Summer Events The event series included the Wireless Festival, Hard Rock Calling and IAAF Diamond League Athletics, plus the London 2012 Anniversary Games, comprising 17 days of events and over 750,000 spectators visiting the park and venues. The team provided independent specialist advice to the LLDC Executive on the delivery programme and the event readiness which included event operations organisation & resourcing, event planning and implementation, safety and security, client group (media, sponsors, athletes, VIP) management and stakeholder integration, health and safety strategy and assurance, licensing and statutory approvals.
Trivandi is acting as the strategic advisor to Queens Park Rangers Football Club on the proposed new stadium development at Old Oak Common. The Club s aspiration is to develop a new stadium and entertainment district along with a new neighbourhood of 8,000 new homes on 80 hectares of land adjacent to the proposed High Speed 2 rail terminal. Trivandi is advising on the development of the brief and requirements for the stadium and entertainment district as part of the site-wide masterplan that is to be submitted for town planning approval. New Queens Park Rangers Stadium Development Trivandi is working within the Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee to develop a comprehensive Procurement & Contracting Strategy and associated Implementation Plan. The FIFA World Cup will be held in Qatar in 2022 the first time a Middle East country has held the event. The development of the Strategy and Implementation Plan is a critical piece of work in the context of the scale of this event and given the requirement to engage and manage the very best suppliers within their fields. Following the success of the London 2012 Games and the well planned procurement strategy, the client has placed great value on the expertise carried by the Trivandi team and our experience from London is being used to inform this critical component to their strategic planning. FIFA World CUP TM Qatar 2022
Trivandi provided a clear eyed perspective on the challenges that the London Legacy Development Corporation faced in delivering the 2013 Summer Event Series in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Through regular one to one meetings across a range of stakeholders, Trivandi gained a wide understanding of the project s potential risks and issues and were able to suggest solutions and opportunities to create a cohesive approach to the process. Regular detailed reporting to senior management and the Executive formed the basis of assurance delivery, and provided the Executive with an assessment of the progress being made and any outstanding tasks. In turn this informed the overall process for managing the event series and provided reassurance to the Board that the project was on track for successful delivery.
