FROM SARA S SPOT: Indoor shoots are going on despite the interval of bitter cold weather and snow. The Vegas Shoot is taking place Feb. 9-11, the last aggregate is Feb. 18 at Wenois, and the Great Lakes Indoor Sectionals are Feb Don t miss the first leg of the competition for 2018 Shooter of the Year and the next belt buckle. The contest for high scoring adult male, high scoring adult female, high scoring male under 18 years old (new), and high scoring female under 18 years old (new) from the combined scores of the 3 state championship shoots begins with the State Indoor at Springfield on March 3-4. Remember to pre-register by Mar. 1st for early fee. The registration form is included in the bulletin and on the IAA website. Hunting season is over and the big game application found in the bulletin or under links on the website must be turned in to Ron Whitlock by February 15. 2 USA Archery has announced its team for the 2018 World Archery indoor championships shooting in Yankton, SD on Feb The headline from The US and International Archer magazine, 1400-shooter Hamm returning to USA Team for Indoor Worlds. The article continues that the 24-athlete strong senior and junior squad includes outdoor legend Mary Zorn Hamm. She became the first compound woman in history to score more than 1400 points on the 1440 round when she shot 1401 at the US Nationals in Mary won the outdoor World Archery Championships that same year in New York, and was individual indoor World Champion in 2001, 2005, and 2009, the latter being the last time she competed internationally. Other members of the USA Senior team include Vic Wunderle, Brady Ellison, Jesse Broadwater, Tate Morgan, Crystal Gauvin, Jack Williams, Mackenzie Brown, Tatyana Muntyan, Kris Schaff, Paige Pearce- Gore, and Breanna Theodore.
