1 January 10, 2018 Dear Wrestling Federation President: For over 50 years, the New York Athletic Club of New York City, USA, has hosted the annual NYAC/ BILL FARRELL Memorial International Wrestling Championships. Once again, we are hosting this UWW-sanctioned tournament with the extension of countries from all over the world. March is a great time of the year to be in New York City, and we are expecting the best wrestling competition in the world at our 2018 tournament. The 2018 NYAC/BILL FARRELL Memorial International will be held on March Senior wrestlers will compete in. We extend an invitation to your Wrestling Federation to participate in our tournament. We cannot pay for housing and food for your wrestling team, but we can offer to be of great assistance during your team s stay. We will help contact interested parties (fellow countrymen who have great interest in our sport) who live in New York City and can help arrange housing and meals during your team s stay in New York. We will arrange transportation options to and from the airport for your team (at your cost). Detailed travel information must be sent to USA Wrestling by March 20. If your travel information is not submitted, your Federation will be responsible for its own transportation. 2 The following regulations will be strictly followed. Variations will only be made by USA Wrestling. Teams Invited by USA Wrestling All UWW members in good standing. USAW Wrestling suggests that all FOREIGN DELEGATIONS participating at the 2018 NYAC/ Bill Farrell Memorial international Wrestling Championships have their VISA APPLICATIONS sent to the U.S. EMBASSY in their country of residence by February 16, 2018, to insure an appointment and visa approval. The Greco-Roman competition will take place on Friday, March 30, with weigh-ins on Friday, March 30. The Men s Freestyle competition will take place on Saturday, March 31, with weigh-ins on Saturday, March 31. Financial Conditions All visiting delegations will be responsible for all food and housing expenses. Expenses for room will be an estimated $200 USD per person per day (based on double occupancy). Board will be the responsibility of visiting delegation. U.S. Canadian athletes will be charged a $50 USD participation fee.

3 Local Organizing Committee will work with Foreign Delegations to establish a New York City Host to help arrange room and board at Federation s expense. Detailed travel information must be sent to USA Wrestling by March 20. Delegations will be responsible for arranging all local transportation to and from New York airports and during the event. All delegations must plan to depart by April 1. Special arrangements might be possible if requested. Delegations must adhere to the deadlines stated on the attached forms. In order to compete, all visiting delegates are responsible for a CURRENT UWW COMPETITORS LICENSE. It is mandatory to purchase UWW Competitors License online through your Federation PRIOR to attending. Athletes must show their physical UWW license to UWW representative during registration night prior to weigh in. Technical Conditions The tournament will be conducted under UWW Freestyle & Greco-Roman Wrestling Rules with modifications accepted by UWW. The tournament will be conducted under double-elimination line-bracketing rules. This means that all those who lose one (1) match in the championship bracket will be sent into the repêchage bracket for a chance to compete for the bronze medal. Those who lose two (2) matches are eliminated from competition. Only UWW approved competition uniforms will be accepted. The men s competition will be held in the ten (10) UWW weight categories: GR 55 KG, 60 KG, 63 KG, 67 KG, 72 KG, 77 KG, 82 KG, 87 KG, 97 KG, 130 KG MFS 57 KG, 61 KG, 65 KG, 70 KG, 74 KG, 79 KG, 86 KG, 92 KG, 97 KG, 125 KG The women s competition will be held in the ten (10) UWW weight categories: WMFS 50 KG, 53 KG, 55 KG, 57 KG, 59 KG, 62 KG, 65 KG, 68 KG, 72 KG, 76 KG Competitors in the men s division must have been born in 1998 or before. Men competitors born in must have a medical certificate from a doctor or certified trainer in order to compete. Competitors in the women s division must have been born in 1998 or before. Women competitors born in must have a medical certificate from a doctor or certified trainer in order to compete. The Local Organizing Committee will provide medical services. Any medical expenses are the responsibility of the individual and NOT the Local Organizing Committee.

Officiating Referees belonging to UWW International Categories shall officiate these championships. All visiting delegations MUST provide a UWW Official as per UWW regulations. As per UWW Rules each referee shall present their referee s license to verify paid taxes for There will be a UWW Officials Clinic at the NYAC held at 8 a.m. on March 30. Dress Code (If in the lobby of the New York Athletic Club) IMPORTANT!!! Males must wear sport coats and slacks. Females must wear casual business attire. (no sneakers, no jeans) NYAC personnel will not allow admission to anyone not meeting the above requirements, regardless of whether the individual is a participant or spectator. Therefore, we strongly suggest participants and coaches plan accordingly in order to participate. Deadlines: Please provide information according to their respective deadlines below: March 14, 2018: Deadline to submit final entry list for Federation Roster List. Each Federation must first contact Pete Isais via * at Pisais@usawrestling.org to obtain a password for the entry website. To submit a final entry list, each Federation will have to visit in order to complete the necessary information for each participating delegate. Without the password, no Federation will be able to submit their information. Once the necessary information is provided for each participating individual, USA Wrestling will provide a visa support letter to the U.S. Embassy of your Federation s choice. DO NOT SUBMIT ROSTER LIST VIA FAX. YOU MUST GO TO THE REQUIRED WEBSITE TO PROVIDE THIS INFORMATION. March 20, 2018: Deadline to provide USA Wrestling detailed travel information for your Federation. If this information is not provided to USA Wrestling by March 20, your Federation will be responsible for your own transportation. Due to security issues stemming from deceitful individuals impersonating international wrestlers, our State Department insist that we provide proof that those wishing to participate in international tournaments within the United States are actual international wrestlers and are represented by a wrestling federation.
