AAU Gymnastics is proud to support Together We Rise, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization comprised of motivated young adults and former foster youth, at the 2018 National Championship. We will raise funds to assist Together We Rise with their mission to improve the lives of foster children in America, who often find themselves forgotten and neglected by the public. This organization partners with local communities to bring

3 resources to their foster youth and use service-learning activities to educate volunteers on issues surrounding the foster care system. Through the sales of our 2018 AAU Gymnastics National Pin and other items, we will donate all proceeds to Together We Rise through the purchases of SWEET CASES, to be donated to the Foster Care system locally in Tampa, FL. The Sweet Cases initiative provides Foster Children with a suitcase to put their belongings in when they move home to home opposed to a trash bag. A donation will also be made to the Together We Rise Scholarship Fund to help those who have lived their entire youth in foster care attend college. AAU Gymnastics will also donate a portion of the event proceeds to Together We Rise. At the event, athletes will be invited to sign our Giving Banner, which will be sent to Together We Rise. We will also have our annual shoebox decorating contest where each club can create a shoebox suitcase to collect donations for Together We Rise in their gym. Please bring the decorated shoeboxes and donations to the Kids Helping Kids Giving Booth at the event. The shoeboxes will be judged and the winners will receive a KIDS HELPING KIDS banner to hang in their gym. All participating teams will receive a poster to take home to their gym. Qualification: Participants are required to participants in their District State Championships unless the district approves a petition. There is no Qualification score. Participants who are unable to attend district championships in their skill level should submit the petition form (found at the end of this document) to their district chair for consideration. If their skill level is not offered by their district or if the district does not have an AAU program, they should fill out the petition form and send it directly to the National Chair. Minimum age must be 4 years of age as of the start date of the competition unless approved by the national chair. Entry Deadline: Friday, May 4, 2018 at 11:59 PM EST There will be a late fee of $10.00 per athlete for all athletes and coaches registered after the deadline, if room allows. Any registrations received within 35 days of the event start date (May 24, 2018) will have a late fee of $20.00 per

4 athlete. Any onsite registrations will result in a $25.00 late fee, if room allows. Online Registration: Athletes and Coaches must register online at You must have your AAU Membership ID for each athlete and coach in order to complete the registration process. IMPORTANT: Your entry for the AAU Gymnastics National Championship is populated based off the information on your AAU Membership. Therefore, if the birthdate of your athlete was entered incorrectly while registering for your individual AAU membership, they will be incorrect on the entry information. We ask your due diligence in making sure that all of your data is correct, otherwise your athlete could be placed in the incorrect age division. Correct entry information is absolutely of utmost importance in being able to provide a complete schedule in a timely manner to all participants. You will be sent a roster to confirm all athlete information. There will be a $10.00 change fee for each correction that has to be made to the data after the schedule is complete and distributed. All instructions for online registration are included in this entry packet. ALL COACHES MUST BE REGISTERED ONLINE BY THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE. Coaches must be able to present their coaches credential at any time, if asked, while on the competition floor. On-Site Check-In: Competition Rules: All athletes and coaches will be required to check in prior to their competition to pick up credentials which will allow them to enter the competitive area. Check in will be located at the venue more information will be available soon. At check in each athlete and coach will receive an AAU National T-shirt and a gift. 5 Tentative Schedule: The schedule is TENTATIVE and is be subject to change depending on the final number of participants in each level. The daily schedule will not start earlier than 8:00 AM and all competition is to be completed by 9:30 PM. Depending on numbers of participants in each level, Sunday may be eliminated. There will be three competition areas; so coaches should be prepared that athletes in different levels could be competing at the same time on different designated area in the competitive area. Subject to change as determined by number of participants. Awards are provided for each skill level and age division. Every athlete will be awarded an AAU National Championship All-Around Medal. Individual event awards are provided at a 50% + 1 ratio within each age

6 division. All American recognition and awards in each level in designated age divisions to be determined after receipt of all entries. Admission: Athletes that are entered in the AAU Gymnastics National Championship receive complimentary entrance to all sessions. Spectator admission is required. CASH ONLY! Daily Pass: $10.00/Child (Ages 5-12) $17.00/Adult 2 Day Pass: $15.00 Child (Ages 5-12) $25.00/ Adult Length of Event: $25.00/Child (Ages 5-12) $35.00/Adult Ages 4 and under is free! Parking: Photography: AAU Membership: Ages and Groups: Welcoming Ceremony/ Athlete Celebration: Hospitality for Coaches: Parking Tampa Convention Center Garage, $1.60 per hour There are several additional parking locations within a five block radius to the convention center. Parking can range up to $20 depending on the lot. Please refer to the Parking Map located at Flash Photography is NOT PERMITTED by any spectator. The host has the right to hire a professional photographer for the event. The AAU, the Event Host and the photographer reserves the rights to all photos to be used in AAU business. The AAU has the right to take and publish any photographs throughout the event for promotional purposes. All athletes and coaches must have a 2018 AAU Membership before registering online. Background screens are conducted for all non-athletes and adult athletes therefore memberships are no longer instant. Be Prepared and register your coaches early. Age determining date is the opening date of the Age Group National Championship, June 28, Athletes in each skill level will be grouped into Age Divisions determined by birth date ranges not to exceed 18 athletes in each division and no more than 24 months apart. Minimum age is 4 years old unless approved by national chair. Tentative Date and Time Subject to Change - The Celebration of Athletes will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 in the evening after competition. More information available at a later date. The athletes will participate in the March-In by their AAU District. There will be great entertainment provided free of charge. This is a fantastic event for families and athletes to experience. There will NOT be a coach s hospitality at the 2018 AAU Gymnastics Age Group Nationals. All registered coaches will receive a goody bag of snacks at registration.

7 There will be a COACHES SOCIAL on Friday, June 29 th following the completion of the Celebration of Athletes. This will include food and drinks. More information to come! S., Inc. All participants must have a current AAU membership. AAU membership may not be included as part of the entry fee to the event. AAU membership must be obtained before the competition begins except where the event operator has a laptop available with an internet connect. 8 ***AAU ONLINE ATHLETE REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS*** The AAU Gymnastics National Championship will be using an online athlete registration system ONLY! Below are some instructions and helpful hints on how to register your team: If possible, please refrain from using a Safari browser to register your athlete(s) Google Chrome is the suggested browser. Step 1: Login/ Create an Account If you have never registered for the AAU Gymnastics (Age Group) National Championship before nor created an account on this website, you must do so in order to continue. This account IS NOT the same as your AAU Membership account information. If you have registered on this website before, please log in and continue with the following steps. Step 2: Gym Entry Form Once you login, continue by selecting Click Here to Begin Registering! You will need your AAU Membership Number and Gym Name. If you have your Club Code, you will enter it here as well, so it automatically pulls the gym name. If you are competing without a club, please type in UNATTACHED as you club name. You will need to check the box next to CHECK HERE to proceed. Step 3: Athlete Registration After the gym information has been added, you will see the Gym name listed under the Gym column. Click on the gym name to add the athlete(s) to the registration. On the next screen click, Click Here to Register Individual Athletes. If you entered a Club Code, the athlete list will generate. You would then check the box next to the athlete(s) name and scroll down to select Add Athletes. You can select more than 1 athlete at a time. If you did not enter a Club Code, the screen will ask for the AAU Membership Number and zip code associated to the athlete(s) membership. Once the athlete(s) are added, you will see them listed under the Gym Roster page in the Individual Athletes column. Under the Status column, it will say missing data. Now, click on the athlete s name this is where you will select the athletes Gymnastics Level, T-Shirt Size, and register to compete in Acro, if applicable. You will need to do this step for every athlete. Once the information is inputted, PLEASE VERIFY THE BIRTHDAY IS CORRECT FOR EACH ATHLETE. Then click Save at the bottom. The Status will now say Waiting for Payment. Step 4: Coaches Registration EVERY COACH who intends on being on the competition floor MUST be registered online by the deadline date. If a coach does NOT register by the deadline, there will be a registration late fee for each coach added after the deadline. To Register a coach, you will follow the above steps. On the Gym Roster page, you will see a button that says Click Here to Register Coaches. You will need the AAU Membership Number and zip code for all coaches the zip code must match the information on the coaches membership. Step 5: Check Out All entries must be completed online by the deadline via credit/ debit card (VISA, AMEX, Discover or MasterCard). Upon completion of the registration process, you will receive a receipt to your address that is on file with your account. 9 Petition to Compete in the 2018 AAU Gymnastics National Championship Any gymnast that wishes to petition into the National meet must fill out and return this form to their District Gymnastics Director. In order to petition into the National meet coaches must fill out and sign the form below. If your district does not have an AAU program or a district championship in which to qualify, please send this form to the AAU Gymnastics National Chair at aaunichols@bellsouth.net or Amanda Steelman at aaugymnationals@gmail.com.
