3 Fire Service Games An International Overview

4 4 The World Firefighters Games is held every 2 years. The first World Firefighters Games were held in Auckland, New Zealand in 1990 and is biennial event World Police & Fire Games is also held every two years with the 1 st being held in San Hose, USA in 1985 Philosophy is to be as inclusive as possible, what unites Firefighting community, is the shared passion for saving peoples lives Participation is open to Firefighters, part time and volunteers, Fire Chiefs, Emergency Service workers, Ambulance personnel, Paramedics, Military and Aviation Firefighters, Petro-chemical Firefighters, Support services personnel - along with their direct family members Countries send their respective contingents to compete and interact with professionals in this field from all over the world

5 National Fire Service Games The Indian Context

6 6 First of its kind Fire Services Games in India where each sport is technically conducted and supported by its respective association FSGAI (a not for profit organization) will lead this tournament Selected Athletes to represent India in World Firefighters games / World Police & Fire Games Participation is open to fire departments of 29 States and 7 union territories including fire departments that come under various state government, PSUs, Central Government organizations, Large Corporations, Defense Forces, Aviation etc. Event will be a mix of competitive and fun games along with a Fire Services conference which together act as a great unifier and forum for interaction
