1 2018 IAAF Race Walking Challenge Memorial Jerzy Hausleber I n v i t a t i o n The Mexican Federation of Athletics Associations (IAAF) and the Nuevo Leon Government through the State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport of the State of Nuevo Leon (INDE-NL) have the pleasure of inviting the IAAF Member Federations to participate with their best race walkers in the Memorial "Jerzy Hausleber" which, as part of the "IAAF Race Walking Challenge" will take place in the City of Monterrey on 24th and 25th February, The Organizing Committee offers to reimburse the cost of the air ticket from the place of origin to the City of Monterrey and return to two athletes per country, whose names appear in the list of Qualified Athletes in Appendix 2 of the 2018 edition of the IAAF Challenge Regulations. (Here attached) To athletes that do not appear in this list, the Organizing Committee offers to reimburse 50% of the cost of the air ticket from its place of origin to the City of Monterrey and return provided that, in 2017 they achieved the following marks or better: 1h30 (20k M) 1h40 (20k W) 4h00 (50k M).. Once in Monterrey, the Organizing Committee will take charge of full board accommodation following the IAAF Regulations, and local transportation. 63,000 US Dollars will be distributed in prize money to the first eighth places in 20k men and women and 50k men. In the case of 50k women the first three places will be awarded, provided that representatives from at least five countries participate. It is very important that on January 22 the latest, we receive the official notification of the number of athletes and officials and the arrival date in Monterrey, at the e-addresses: campeonato.fmaa@gmail.com and mex@mf.iaaf.com Below we are presenting you more detailed information. Accommodation Lodging will be granted from February 22 till February 26th at the Antaris Cintermex, located at Av. Fundidora 500, Col. Obrera, Monterrey, Nuevo León. Telephone: ; ( 2.2 For those who wish to stay at this hotel before or after these dates, the cost, without meals, is approximately 75 US dollars per day. 3. Local Transportation.- The Organizing Committee will provide transportation between the arrival Airport and the Hotel, and all official activities that require it. 4. Training.- The Antaris Cintermex Hotel is located only 300 away from the circuit where the competition will take place, in which the race walkers can train at any time, in an area free of vehicular traffic. 5 VISAS The citizens of the following countries need to process the corresponding visa to enter the Mexican Republic: Bolivia China Cuba Ecuador El Salvador Guatemala Honduras Kenya Nicaragua South Africa Turkey Ukrainie 2

3 5.2 If the Mexican visa is needed, please contact or telephone (+52) in order to receive the proper invitation letter and explanation of the procedures. The process takes about 15 days on average, so it should start as soon as possible. 6. The Competition 8.1 The 20 and 50km belong to Category B of the "IAAF Race Walking Challenge", therefore subject to the rules indicated in the 2018 edition of its Regulations The Junior races are open to athletes born in 1999, 2000 or 2001, that is to say they will be 19, 18 or 17 years old on December 31, Scoring.- The first ten finishers in 20k los 50k, men and women will be awarded the following points: First place 12 points Sixth place 5 points Second place 10 points Seventh place 4 points Third place 8 points Eighth place 3 points Fourth place 7 points Nineth place 2 points Fifth place 6 points Tenth place 1 point 3

4 9. The Circuit.- It is a a two kilometres course, totally paved, flat and straight at the Fundidora Park. It will be closed to vehicular traffic for competitions as well as for training. 10.Pit Lane IAAF Rule 230.7(c)- will be used in all events. The penalty times are as follows: 10k: One minute 20k: Two minutes 50k: Five minutes The times achieved by an athlete who has entered the pit lane will not be valid for World Championships or Olympic Games standards. 4

COMPETITION AWARDS.- In addition to the gold, silver and bronze medals for the first three places in each event, a prize money will be awarded, to the Senior events only, with the following amounts: 12.
