2 My name is Sara Lankshear and I am honoured to be the Chair of the 2018 Georgian Bay Pops. I am working with a wonderful group of volunteers helping to plan this years Pops in support of Georgian Bay General Hospital. This exclusive event is in support of a new CT scanner. The team at GBGH are excited to announce that the new CT scanner should be up and operating by the fall 2018 but we still have $550,000 left to raise. The new CT scanner is critical to our Emergency Department at GBGH. It is the primary tool used by our physicians to diagnose patients with severe headaches, chest pain, abdominal pain, uncontrolled bleeding and stroke. According to our own emergency room physician, Dr. Vikram Ralhan, A hospital cannot function without a CT scanner nowadays. Most physicians will not even work in a hospital unless they actually have a CT scanner. If you cannot diagnosis in an expeditious manner, the patient could die. Our fundraising goal for this year s event is $50,000 and we are asking you to please help us reach our goal.
