5 5 ANTI-DOPING THE BIG PICTURE World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) - Coordinates and monitors the fight against doping in all sports - Developed the International World Anti-Doping Code UK Anti-Doping - UK Body responsible for anti-doping in the UK NGBs - Education of athletes and compliance with the UK Anti-Doping Policy Coaches - NGB Coaches are under the jurisdiction of the UK Anti-Doping rules Athletes - Under the WAD Code have STRICT LIABILITY

11 11 COACHES: THE CORE INFLUENCE Call to Action...Coaches need your help - Athletes need you to educate coaches Need to educate coaches on their roles and responsibilities in relation to anti-doping Need to educate coaches to share positive messages and develop positive values in athletes Need for coaches to take ownership of supporting their players to be clean, stay clean and believe that their competitors are clean too

Anti-Doping is now within the NOS for coaching at this level Programme aims to ensure correct information is given to coaches Practical solution to help sports educate in anti-doping

13 13 FAQ S What's the cost? Can we access this for other coaches, say those who are already qualified? How does this work? How do coaches access this and who hosts it? When will it be ready? Can they use it as evidence against the UKCC Level 2 assessment? What about lower level coaches, Level 1 s and our Performance Coaches?
