3 An introduction With a history traceable back to the 1600 s, Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) Ltd was officially formed as a limited company in 1861, for the purpose of supplying small arms to satisfy the demand of the British Government of the time. During its history BSA has supplied British forces and its allies with small arms in both world wars, diversified into cycle production and manufactured machine tools to support its own business. It once owned the Daimler motor car company, and is probably most famous as the largest British motorcycle company in the world, until production ceased i the 1970 s.bsa guns are designed and built using our proven combination of English gunsmithing skills combined with the total precision of the very latest, computer-controlled production techniques. We believe this system gives BSA the very best of both worlds and our customers the finest choice of airguns and equipment available. Since the mid 1980 s the company has been part of the Gamo Group and in 2013 was itself acquired by New York based investment Group Bruckmann, Rosser, Sherrill & Co Inc., (BRS), and forms a key member of the BRS Air Device Holdings Inc. Company. BSA s primary operations are the Research, Design & Development, Manufacture and Distribution of Air Rifles and associated products. It has three key sited located globally. These include R&D, Manufacturing and Distribution in Birmingham England, Barcelona Spain, and a major distribution centre in Arkansas USA. 4 Our experience Production of Barrels Cold Hammer Forged Barrel High precision The barrel of an air rifle has an even greater influence on accuracy than many shooters realise. Not only must a barrel be expertly made with precision rifling, a properly finished bore and a perfectly true crown at the muzzle, the entire barrel setup must be compatible with the rifle that it is fitted to and the pellets used in it. For all of these factors to come together for every rifle, total control over barrel production is required. That is why BSA always makes its own barrels. Our unmatched experience in airgun-making has proven that the degree of control we insist on is absolutely essential for top performance. At BSA we control every process that goes into the making of a barrel, from the initial selection of the steel blanks, through the forming of the bore and it's rifling, all the way to the final finishing. We know that every one of these processes has a significant effect on the performance of a barrel, and that is another reason we maintain full control of them. As you can see, at BSA we do things our own way. Our barrels are not only designed and made by us, to our exclusive specifications, their configuration is unique to BSA. We re not different for the sake of it though.
