1 Dillon Reloading Machines BL 550 Basic Loader Specifications: The BL 550 is essentially an RL550B without the automatic priming and powder systems. Capable of loading more than 160 calibers- just like the RL550B- it uses any manufacturers' standard 7/8"-14 reloading dies. It's priced comparably with other manufacturers' turret presses; yet unlike them, it's fully upgradeable to Dillon's Progressive RL550B loader! The interchangeable toolhead makes it quick, easy and inexpensive to change calibers. For example, if you load for elk,.243 for deer and for coyote, you don't even have to change the shellplate. You simply pull two pins and swap the toolhead with your dies to another toolhead with your or.243 dies in less than 30 seconds! Once you get your dies set you'll never have to re-set them. the BL550. A powder measure adapter is available if you want to use a manual measure that you already own. I suggest that you also get: - Dillon dies designed for high speed use - Extra primer pick-up tubes, if loading more than rounds per sitting, and a machine cover to keep it dust free. Caliber Changes for RL 550B: To change calibers, you will need: Die set Caliber conversion kit If you want to leave your dies preset, you'll need: Toolhead (#13909) and a Powder die (#20064) OR The 550B Quick Change (#22058),which includes a powder measure, powder die, toolhead and a toolhead stand. New adjustable shot dispenser uses the same design principle, with an extra large hopper that holds 25 pounds of shot. The frame is a heavy duty O-frame design, precision CNC machined to exacting tolerances. Switching from one gauge to another is easy, because the SL 900 features Dillon's famous interchangeable toolhead design. The toolhead assembly simply slides out of the frame, keeping all your critical die and measurement adjustments intact and comes with factory adjusted dies. Machine pictured shows available options.
