Flanigan World Record July 6, Patrick Flanigan carefully places his right thumb and fingers tightly over 11 clay targets. It s a long stretch. Bending his knees, and with a mighty swoop, he tosses them all high in the air. What happens next is unbelievable. The targets separate and fall quickly. With his Winchester Super X shotgun clutched tightly in his left hand, he deftly shoulders the semi-automatic and proceeds to break all 11 targets before they hit the ground. He has just set the world record of 11 hand-thrown clay targets, individually shot without assistance (one target per cartridge)! The Super X is no ordinary shotgun. It s the only semi-automatic shotgun in the world that swings and cycles fast enough to break every target. Patrick could not have broken the world record without it. On July 6, 2006, Patrick tossed up nine clay targets and hit them all from the hip, for a new Hip Shooting World Record. Patrick reigns as king of the Professional Exhibition Shooters. The Super X3 has been refined to produce the most reliable, fastest shooting and softest recoiling autoloader available. This simple system consists of a gas piston with an internal Active Valve that self adjusts to reliably fire a wide range of loads. With light loads, most of the gases from the fired shell are used to operate the action. With heavy loads, excess gases are vented from the piston. The gas piston and Active Valve operate independently, exerting less pressure on the piston for greater longevity and efficiency than other gas-operated autoloaders. The extremely short piston stroke also limits the amount of combustion gases that get into the receiver for cleaner, more reliable operation. 26 MODEL 70 MODEL 70 CLASSIC FEATHERWEIGHT Thanks to its exclusive chequering pattern and its excellent Schnabel fore-end, the Model 70 Classic Featherweight looks like being the key product in the Model 70 range. This is one of the features that enabled the Model 70 rifle to be voted "Bolt rifle of the Century". The wide extractor claw and partially recessed bolt face pick up the cartridge from the magazine, holding it firmly whilst presenting it to the chamber at the correct angle. On extraction, the case is again held securely until right At the end of the bolt stroke, when the empty case is smartly ejected. This tried-and-tested design allows you to extract the un-fired cartridge even if it hasn t yet fully entered the chamber. Controlled Round Push Feed Bolt. Extractor s innovative design. Just like the classic design of the CRF, this new extractor grips part of the cartridge rim, carefull guiding it from the magazine safely into the chamber, the precision of the operation protecting the bullet tip. This firm hold allows the extraction of a partially chambered round. Also, like a conventional Push-Feed system, the CRPF allows the extractor to over-ride the cartridge rim on the forward stroke, permitting the manual loading of a single cartridge, bypassing the magazine. If you are a vermin shooter or a target shooter this system may suit you best..
