1 Welcome to the 2015 Livingston Police Combat Pistol Shoot. This letter will help to clarify the information on the Registration Form. Registration deadlines for the free shirt and meal tickets are necessary based on the order and delivery dates of the shirts and food for the banquet. Each shooter will receive one meal ticket included in the registration fee. Additional meal tickets may be purchased at the price outlined on the registration form and by the date stated on the same form. No meal tickets will be available for purchase at the door. Most courses of fire will be published at not later than one week prior to the event. Four scoring categories are utilized for both the Stock Service Pistol Practical and Service matches: Master Expert Sharpshooter Marksman Three scoring categories are utilized for both the Enhanced Service Pistol Practical and Service matches: Master Expert Sharpshooter In each category, the top three places will receive trophies. The Lewis scoring system is employed thereafter. 1

2 Four categories are utilized for the Aggregate score: Master Expert Sharpshooter Marksman All challenges of the scoring will be made at the time of target scoring. A fee of $5.00 will be charged for the challenge, reimbursed if the challenge is upheld. The general rules governing the pistol match and specific rules for the Practical course, Service Course and Side Matches are as follows: General Rules: No alcohol is allowed anywhere on the club grounds. Competition is open to active or retired law enforcement officers (corrections, motor carrier) who work or live in Livingston County. Competition is open to members in good standing of Livingston Conservation and Sports Association, and their IMMEDIATE families, 21 years or older on the day of the competition. Competition is open to Sponsors of the event. Competition is open to Army National Guard Troops from the Howell Post. All attendees MUST have ear and eye protection. Firearms will be uncased and holstered in the DESIGNATED SAFE ZONE ONLY. Firearms are to be brought to the firing line holstered and unloaded. Firearms are loaded by command on the firing line during the first course of fire. Firearms are to be kept loaded during the courses of fire. Firearms must be reloaded prior to recovering to the holster. Once the firearm has been holstered, it is not removed until the next range command to fire. Magazine changes are permitted while the firearm is holstered. Administrative reload. A participant may be ordered off the line for safety violations, misconduct, or inappropriate behavior. A release form must be signed for each contestant entered in any match. All ammunition MUST be Factory Duty Loads, or its equivalent. There are no alibis for any ammo or firearm failure or malfunction. Line officials have FINAL say over any weapons, gear or ammunition being used. CARRY EQUIPMENT GUIDELINES: Holster and Magazine carriers MUST have a positive engagement retention device (IE: Police Duty Gear) if not carried concealed. If your firearm is carried concealed (IE: CPL Holder non LEO), and concealment garments are worn, that is your positive engagement retention device. No exceptions concealed or strapped in. This rule follows for ALL courses of fire, side matches and main matches. 2

3 Firearms Divisions: Stock Service Pistol Division (SSP) Handguns permitted for use in SSP must: Have a minimum annual production of 2,000 units. Discontinued models must have had a total production of 20,000 units. Be semiautomatic. Be double action, double action only, or striker fired. Be 9mm (9x19) or larger caliber. The unloaded firearm with the heaviest magazine must weigh oz/ grams or less. The firearm will NOT have a barrel longer than 4.6 Start Condition: Selective DA/SA firearms will start hammer down. Firearms with a decocking lever or button will be decocked using the lever or button. In SSP, manual safeties may be engaged at the shooter s discretion. SSP Permitted Modifications (Inclusive list): Sights may be changed to another notch and post type but slides may not be machined to accept different style sights in SSP, no Fiber Optic (glo-sights). Grips may be changed to another style or material that is similar to factory configuration Magazine releases, slide stops, safety levers, decocking levers, hammers, and triggers, that are stock on one SSP legal firearm may be used on another SSP legal firearm from the same manufacturer provided they are drop in replacements. Parts in this list must come factory installed on standard production firearms. Special parts that are available installed only from a factory custom shop are not eligible in SSP. Recoil spring guide rods and dual spring recoil systems made of material that is no heavier than stainless steel. A slip on grip sock and/or grip tape, skateboard tape, etc. may be used. Internal action work may be used to enhance trigger pull as long as safety is maintained (no visible external modifications allowed). Internal reliability work. Aftermarket extractors and pins may be used. Internal accuracy work. Replacement of barrel with one of factory configuration and original caliber. Plastic plugs may be used to fill the opening behind the magazine well. Custom finishes may be applied. Stock slide cover plates may be refinished. Slides may be engraved. Engraving is defined as etching into the slide of logos, letters, and graphics no deeper than the original factory logos. Stippling and texturing may be performed on readily replaceable parts of the grip frame such as replaceable back straps and replaceable grip panels. SSP Excluded Modifications (Non-Inclusive list): Externally visible modifications other than those listed in the Permitted Modifications section. Aftermarket or visibly modified magazine releases, slide stops, safety levers, de-cocking levers, and hammers. Robar-style grip reduction. 3

4 Add - on magazine well opening. Slide inserts to accommodate a different recoil assembly design. A barrel of another caliber that is not offered in the original factory model. Compensated firearms. Aftermarket slides. Removing material from the magazine well opening. Aftermarket grip tang extensions or beavertails. Disabling the slide stop. Fiber Optic Sights (Day Glo Sights) Enhanced Service Pistol Division (ESP) Handguns permitted for use in ESP must: Be semiautomatic. Be 9mm (9x19) or larger caliber. The firearm will NOT have a barrel longer than 5.3 Firearms originally sold as compensated models must be used in ESP with compensated barrels installed. Start Condition: Firearms designed for cocked and locked carry will start cocked and locked (hammer cocked, safety engaged). Selective DA/SA firearms will start de-cocked. Double action, double action only, or striker fired firearms with a de-cocking lever or button will be de-cocked using the lever or button. Double action, double action only, or striker-fired firearms may have a manual safety engaged at the shooter s discretion. All firearms legal in SSP are legal for use in ESP. This provision may be used for firearms that violate an ESP rule (for example, a firearm with a steel dust cover or rail over 3.25 ) to still be used in ESP, provided the firearm meets all SSP requirements. ESP Permitted Features and Modifications (Inclusive list): Sights may be changed to another notch and post type, including fiber optic day glosights Grips may be changed A slip-on grip sock and/or grip tape, skateboard tape, etc. may be used. Robar - style grip reduction. Action work may be used to enhance trigger pull as long as safety is maintained. Reliability work. Aftermarket extractors and pins may be used. Internal accuracy work. Replacement of barrel with one of factory configuration in a stock or non-stock caliber. Plastic plugs may be used to fill the opening behind the magazine well. Aftermarket triggers and trigger work that result in the trigger being forward or rearward from the stock trigger position. Externally visible trigger over travel stops. Hammer and other trigger action parts to enhance trigger pull. Checkering, serrating, and stippling. Reshape trigger guard. Extended and/or ambidextrous thumb safety. 4

5 Extended beavertail grip safety. Extended magazine release (button may not be oversize in diameter or protrude more than 0.2 out from the frame). Ambidextrous or right side magazine releases. Extended, trimmed, and/or ambidextrous slide releases. Heavy or cone style barrels on firearms with barrel lengths of 4.25 or less. Recoil spring guide rods and dual spring recoil systems made of material that is no heavier than stainless steel. Slide inserts to accommodate a different recoil assembly design. Modification of the magazine well and add-on well extensions. Custom finishes and engraving may be applied. Aftermarket slide cover plates. Slides with front cocking serrations, tri-top, carry melts, and high power cuts. Grip tang extensions or beavertails Swenson style thumb shields and frame mounted thumb shields. Aftermarket safeties. ESP Excluded Features and Modifications (Non-Inclusive list): Steel dust covers and rails over 3.25 (as measured from the rear of the slide stop pin to the most forward portion of the dust cover or rail) are not permitted. Removal of material from the exterior of the slide other than front cocking serrations, tri top, engraving, carry melts, and high power cuts. Oversize diameter magazine release buttons. Trigger shoes. Disabling the slide stop. Service Match $20.00 The service match is designed to be a Law Enforcement firearm course of fire. Only those firearms designed, recognized and issued/authorized (by your agency) as a police duty firearm are authorized for this match. No revolvers will be allowed for the Service Match. IE: If you are issued a SIG, don t bring your Glock. The PRIMARY firearm carried on UNIFORM duty (for your agency), or as your PRIMARY carry gun (for non law enforcement), is the firearm that must be used. NO TRICKED OUT COMPETITION GUNS. All equipment (holsters and magazine pouches) must be duty type equipment with retention devices. No race guns, light trigger jobs, scopes, red dots, or laser sights allowed. The RANGEMASTER has the right to inspect any firearms used in this match. Barricades are to be used as tactical cover. Ready position is with the firearm below the point of aim. The competition committee is the final word in any and all disputes. Scoring challenges must be made at the time of scoring. The instructions from the Range Officers are to be obeyed. 5

6 Practical Match $20.00 The Practical Match is designed to be a Law Enforcement firearm course of fire. Only those firearms designed, recognized and issued/authorized (by your agency) as a police duty firearm are authorized for this match. No revolvers will be allowed for the Service Match. IE: If you are issued a SIG, don t bring your Glock. The PRIMARY firearm carried on UNIFORM duty (for your agency), or as your PRIMARY carry gun (for non law enforcement), is the firearm that must be used. NO TRICKED OUT COMPETITION GUNS. All equipment (holsters and magazine pouches) must be duty type equipment with retention devices. No race guns, light trigger jobs, scopes, red dots, or laser sights allowed. The RANGEMASTER has the right to inspect any firearms used in this match. Barricades are to be used as tactical cover. Ready position is with the firearm below the point of aim. The competition committee is the final word in any and all disputes. Scoring challenges must be made at the time of scoring. The instructions from the Range Officers are to be obeyed. *NEW 2015* Old Skool Revolver Match (Side Match) $15.00 The REVOLVER match is designed to be a Law Enforcement firearm course of fire. Only Revolvers that were used in a uniform capacity will be allowed. IE: Colt Trooper, Smith & Wesson Model 10, 13, 19, 66, 65 etc., Ruger GP100, Security Six NO TRICKED OUT COMPETITION GUNS, MAX of a 6 inch barrel. ALL AMMUNTION MUST BE OF A DUTY EQUIVALENT. All equipment (holsters and ammunition pouches) must be duty type equipment with retention devices. IE: Drop Pouches, Loops or Speed Loaders. No race guns, light trigger jobs, scopes, red dots, or laser sights allowed. The RANGEMASTER has the right to inspect any firearms used in this match. Barricades are to be used as tactical cover. Ready position is with the firearm below the point of aim. The competition committee is the final word in any and all disputes. Scoring challenges must be made at the time of scoring. The instructions from the Range Officers are to be obeyed. 6

7 Team Competition (Side Match) $20.00 per Team Non-Service firearms are allowed, iron sights ONLY. NO REVOLVERS. $20.00 fee per team entry. Fee does not include a meal ticket or shirt. Each team consists of two (2) shooters. Shooters MUST fire the course on the same line. Each team may only shoot once. Individual shooters may form different teams, register as a new team, and compete multiple times. Each new team must register and pay the $20.00 registration fee. Team competition is fired on the Service Match only. Shooter 1 score + shooter 2 score = team score. NO SHARING OF EQUIPMENT between team members. o Master 1,2,3 o Expert 1,2,3 o Sharpshooter 1,2,3 o Marksman 1,2,3 Three Gun Competition (Side Match) $10.00 $10.00 fee per entry. Fee does not include a meal ticket or shirt. Fee includes use of 870 shotgun, with ammo; and, AR-15 Rifle, with ammo. You must supply your duty type handgun with duty type gear and ammo. Three Gun Competition is located on the Pistol Range. Scoring to be announced, but, will follow IDPA type scoring. o Master 1,2,3 o Expert 1,2,3 o Sharpshooter 1,2,3 o Marksman 1,2,3 7

8 Jay s Challenge (Two Gun Competition) $10.00 $10.00 fee per entry. Fee does not include a meal ticket or shirt. Fee includes use of AR-15 Rifle, with ammo. You must supply your duty type handgun with duty type gear and ammo. Jay s Challenge is located on the Pistol Range. Scoring to be announced, but, will follow IDPA type scoring. o Master 1,2,3 o Expert 1,2,3 o Sharpshooter 1,2,3 o Marksman 1,2,3 Patrol Rifle Competition NON OPTICS (Side Match) $10.00 $10.00 fee per entry. Fee does not include a meal ticket or shirt. IRON SIGHT ONLY Rifle used MUST be of Patrol Rifle Type in a caliber of.308 Winchester or less. Rifle must be capable of being fired in the SEMI AUTOMATIC mode. M1A and Pistol caliber carbines are welcome. If the glass sight magnifies, it has OPTICS! The Remington Pump Patrol Rifle in.223 REM will be allowed if desired. Patrol Rifle Competition is located on the Rifle Range. Scoring to be announced, but, will follow Service Match type scoring. Three magazines are suggested. o Master 1,2,3 o Expert 1,2,3 o Sharpshooter 1,2,3 8

9 Patrol Rifle Competition 4x or less OPTICS (Side Match) $10.00 $10.00 fee per entry. Fee does not include a meal ticket or shirt. 4X or Less Optics must be used. Rifle used MUST be of Patrol Rifle Type in a caliber of.308 Winchester or less. Rifle must be capable of being fired in the SEMI AUTOMATIC mode. M1A and Pistol caliber carbines are welcome. If the glass sight magnifies, it has OPTICS! The Remington Pump Patrol Rifle in.223 REM will be allowed if desired. Patrol Rifle Competition is located on the Rifle Range. Scoring to be announced, but, will follow Service Match type scoring. Three magazines are suggested. o Master 1,2,3 o Expert 1,2,3 o Sharpshooter 1,2,3 Precision Rifle Competition 100 yard distance (Side Match) $5.00 $5.00 fee per entry. Fee does not include a meal ticket or shirt. You may shoot the course unlimited times for each class (large bore and small bore), ADDITIONAL ENTRY FEE for each entry is required. Any Rifle may be used; any optics on the rifle may be used. The course will have two classes. Up to.308 Winchester (Small Bore) and.308 Winchester and above (Large Bore). Precision Rifle Competition is located on the Rifle Range. Scoring will be posted at registration, simply put; highest score in the least amount of time wins. o Small Bore - Gold, Silver, Bronze o Large Bore - Gold, Silver, Bronze 9

10 Precision Rifle Competition 200 yard distance (Side Match) $5.00 fee per entry. Fee does not include a meal ticket or shirt. You may shoot the course unlimited times, ADDITIONAL ENTRY FEE for each entry is required. Two Classes: 1. Rack Rifle (police issue modifications) with typical duty optics 2. Custom Rifles with unlimited optics. Precision Rifle Competition is located on the Rifle Range. Scoring will be posted at registration, simply put; closest to designated POA wins. o Best Shot Wins for each class. Spouse (Significant Other) Competition (Side Match) Only NON Law Enforcement / NON competitive shooter spouses (significant other) of registered shooters in the Service Match and/or Practical Match may $5.00 fee per entry. Fee does not include a meal ticket or shirt. A.22 CAL pistol will be provided along with ammo. ONLY the RANGE SAFETY OFFICER will instruct shooter as to course of fire and safe handling of the firearm used. Awards to be determined, and presented to first, second and third place. *NEW FOR 2015* Spouse (Significant Other) RIFLE (Side Match) Only NON Law Enforcement / NON competitive shooter spouses (significant other) of registered shooters in the Service Match and/or Practical Match may $5.00 fee per entry. Fee does not include a meal ticket or shirt. A.22 CAL rifle will be provided along with ammo. ONLY the RANGE SAFETY OFFICER will instruct shooter as to course of fire and safe handling of the firearm used. Awards to be determined, and presented to first, second and third place. Speed Shoot (Side Match) $5.00 Simple Shoot Fast, but safe. Any equipment desired. Revolvers welcome. Fee announced at match. Fee does not include a meal ticket or shirt. Award to top shooter. 10

11 B.U.G. (Side Match) $5.00 Firearm and ammunition will be supplied. Fired from the low ready position, no holster needed. $5.00 Fee per entry. Fee does not include a meal ticket or shirt. Award to top shooter. ** LPCPS reserves the right to prohibit anyone from shooting in any event.** Anyone who is determined to be a safety hazard or is determined to not be in compliance with the General Rules and/or requirements will be removed from the event immediately, without refund or awards presented.
