3 Loading a Cap-&-Ball Revolver 1. Draw the hammer back to the first detent, placing it on half cock and allowing the cylinder to rotate for loading; 2. Fill the chambers with powder, leaving enough room to seat a bullet or ball, and place a ball. on the chamber mouth; some shooters place. a rigid, greased felt wad over the powder column before seating the bullet, as a hedge against chain fires which may occur with undersized or poorlyshaped bullets or chambers; 3. Rotate the chamber under the rammer and. use the loading lever (if present) to seat. the projectile firmly on top of the powder column and at or below the chamber mouth; 4. Place percussion caps on each of the nipples at the rear of the chambers; 5. Rotate the cylinder as necessary and return. the hammer to down position (pull it back slightly, squeeze trigger and let hammer down carefully) engaging the safety detents; or 6. Draw the hammer back to full cock. for immediate firing.

It is only made to order d Special The Colt Buntline Special cannot ordinarily be bought. They must be specially ordered from the Colt factory in New Jersey (for $500), and carrying one in normal condition requires a custom-made holster as well (and even with the holster, this big gun is really difficult to draw). With a Buntline Special, each action spent drawing a bead yields a +3 bonus instead of the usual +2 (maximum bonus is still +6, though). When the stock is used, increase the gun s Range Increment to 15 as well. To quick-draw a Buntline Special properly, a character needs to have the quick draw: Buntline Aptitude. This eliminates the quick draw penalty.

Weapon Cards This set of illustrated cards shows common weapons of the Weird West, for use with the Deadlands roleplaying

Only weapons dating up to and including 1877 has been included, since 1876 77 is the standard setting for the game.

A few weapons are also completely fictional, and nothing close enough was available to use as a substitute.

99 Weapon Cards This set of illustrated cards shows common weapons of the Weird West, for use with the Deadlands roleplaying game published by Pinnacle Enter tainment Group. Only weapons dating up to and including 1877 has been included, since is the standard setting for the game. A card is not provided for every weapon, largely because no suitable illustration could be found for some. A few weapons are also completely fictional, and nothing close enough was available to use as a substitute. In order to reflect the real weapons better, some of. the game statistics and rules were slightly modified from those published in the books mentioned. In case of a conflict between card and book, it is recommended to use the rules and data on the card.

100 Weapons use the game statistics from Law Dogs, which are slightly expanded compared to the Deadlands: The Weird West Roleplaying Game main rulebook and also differ somewhat from those in the Weird West Player's Guide. When using the latter, any weapon with. a Speed of 1 should have its rof increased to 2,. the Speed should be ignored for all other purposes, and the Damage of shotguns should read special. COPYRIGHTS The cards were created by Gurth gurth@xs4all nl in 2010 using illustrations from a variety of Internet sources. Certain pieces of text were taken verbatim (or almost so) from Deadlands books and Wikipedia. Rights to all of these rest with their original creators or subsequent copyright owners. DISTRIBUTION No commercial purposes are intended with these cards.. As such, they may be freely distributed in both electronic. and hardcopy forms, on the conditions that they are not changed in any way and no profit is made off the distribution.

101 Printing The Cards The equipment cards are intended to be printed out at Ἄ6 size (14.85 cm 10.5 cm, or approximately ). The easiest way to print them. at the correct size, is to buy paper of this size and insert it into the printer s feed tray. Refer to. the manual supplied with the printer to determine how to properly place the paper into the feed tray and set up the printer to use this size of paper. PAPER WEIGHT To increase the durability of the cards, it is recommended to use a greater weight (thickness) of paper than regular printer or copier paper. Do not use paper thicker than the printer can safely handle; as before, refer to its manual to determine the maximum weight to be used. PRINTING ON A4 OR LETTER PAPER To print the cards out at the correct size on Ἄ4- or Letter-size paper, it is possible print four pages to. a single sheet.

) Once printed, the cards should be separated before use. This is easiest to do with a paper cutter.
