Form a True Empire as you crush your enemies and incorporate their armies to further your imperial ambitions. This themed Pyramid event is centered around conflict in Germany the 12th century AD. Please sign up on this thread to secure one of the 8 spots in the main pyramid. Additional signups will be placed on a waiting list, and will either fill spots vacated on the main pyramid, or form a second pyramid or roundrobin event. Limited loaners may be available; please ask on this thread to confirm availability. Special rules: As described on the 2.2+ playsheet, the Communal Italian WWg element is treated as Lit(Sp). It is based like a Litter/War Wagon, but behaves as a Spear element for all game purposes.

3 German army composition must follow the lists specified below. The event uses the Pyramid format with limited attrition, as described here: Pyramid_Format IV/13a Hannover (Medieval German): 1x 3Kn//4Bd(Gen), 2x 4Cb, 2x 4Sp, 2x 4Bd, 2x 2Ps, 3x 7Hd or 4Bd or 3Cb: available III/40d Denmark (Leidang): available IV/13a Bohemia (Medieval German): 1x3Kn (Gen), 4x3Kn//4Bd, 1x4Cb, 2x4Sp, 2x3Ax or 4Sp or 7Hd, 2x2Ps: available III/62a Poland (Early Polish): available III/72a Treviso (Communal Italian): available III/67b Hungary (Early Hungarian): available III/72a Bishop of Trent (Communal Italian): available IV/13a Padua (Medieval German): 1x3Kn (Gen), 4x3Kn//4Bd, 1x4Cb, 2x4Sp, 2x3Ax or 4Sp or 7Hd, 2x2Ps: available GM: Alan Ferrency 1pm-5pm DBA Medieval Europe Theme Event Type: Theme Tournament Rounds: 3 Europe circa 1500AD III/77, IV/5c, IV/13cd, IV/16, IV/18, IV/21, IV/22, IV/30, IV/38, IV/39c, IV/43c, IV/44, IV/54bcd, IV/55b, IV/56ab, IV/57c, IV/58, IV/61, IV/62, IV/64c, IV/65, IV/66, IV/68ab, IV/69, IV/76, IV/79, IV/80, IV/82ab, IV/83ab, IV/84. GMs: Jeff Franz 5pm-Midnight Devastated by Victory: Warfare in the time of Pyrrhus, BC Event Type: Campaign Theme Rounds: 5 or 6 Players : up to 30 Pyrrhus was a second cousin of Alexander the Great, served under Demetrius, married Ptolemy I's stepdaughter, fought against Demetrius, invaded Thessaly, conquered Macedonia with Lysimachus, was betrayed and driven out of Macedonia by Lysimachus, did his anti-roman thing, was invited back to Macedonia (which had just been invaded by the Galatians) and to Sicily to drive out Carthage both at the same time, chose Sicily, became King of Sicily, conquered the Carthaginians there, created a dictatorship in Sicily, pissed off the Sicilian Greeks enough they made common cause with Carthage against him, went back to Italy, fought Rome some more, went back to Greece, beat Antigonos Gonatus to conquer Macedonia (again), attacked Sparta, failed to take it, went back to Argos to attack Antigonos Gonatus and was killed in the streets of Argos after getting beaned with a ceramic roof tile pitched by a disgruntled old Argive woman. At the same time we have Lysimachus joining with Pyrrhus to oust Demetrios from Macedon, betraying Pyrrhus, assassinating his own son, getting defeated and killed by Seleucus and Ptolemy Keraunos. Ptolemy Keraunos was the first son of Ptolemy I, dispossessed by his father, allied with Seleucus, then as soon as Seleucus stepped off the boat onto Macedonian soil, Ptolemy Keraunos put a knife in his back. Literally! And about a year or so later the Galatians invaded Greece and Ptolemy Keraunos was pulled off his Elephant and slaughtered. Kings and Generals were being assassinated, murdering their progeny, sipping poison, betraying their fathers, wives, brothers, sons, cousins. What a glorious time to be alive! Not so easy to stay alive, of course...
