3 Dear Target Shooter Congratulations on the acquisition of your new target rifle. Our rifles are used worldwide with great success. We are convinced that your decision was easy. Our products fulfill the highest engineering standards and are manufactured with the latest product technology. Please carefully read the following before using your new rifle: 1. Always consider a rifle loaded until you personally checked that it is not. Make sure the action is open when you carry the rifle around so everybody can see that your rifle is unloaded. 2. Make sure the muzzle is always pointed downrange or in a safe direction! 3. Always make sure that you are using the correct ammunition for your rifle. 4. Before shooting always check to see that your barrel is not obstructed. 5. The safety lever must always be pushed all the way in either safe or ready to fire position (F)! Always keep your rifle on safe until you are ready to fire. Make sure there is nothing between the muzzle and the target before you release the safety lever. Always keep the finger off the rigger until you are ready to shoot. 6. Except for cleaning, your rifle should only be disassembled by an authorized gunsmith. 7. The life of your rifle and your barrel depends on proper care. Please carefully follow the instructions in your rifle s manual. 8. Factory settings The trigger is adjusted to the following factory settings: The two stage trigger has about 100 gramms (3.5 ounces) trigger pull. The trigger slack screw D2 (softer) is engaged.

5 Factory settings The trigger is adjusted to the following factory settings: The two stage trigger has about 100 gramms (3.5 ounces) trigger pull. The trigger slack screw D2 (softer) is engaged. The trigger slack screw D1 (harder) is disengaged (smal gap). The first stage pull is around 2mm. The following adjustments may be possible: F1 F2 T D1 D2 C L First stage pull Trigger pull Second stage travel Trigger slack (harder) Trigger slack (softer) Sear engagement First stage travel Carefully read the manual! Do not change too many settings at once! Trigger weight You have two options to adjust the trigger pull: Trigger weight gramms ( ounces) by using screw D1. Trigger weight gramms ( ounces) by using screw D2. Important: If you have chosen screw D1, loosen screw D2. If you have chosen the D2 screw, loosen screw D1. Ideal is a gap of approximately 1mm. Never choose a setting where both screws are engaged at the same time! You can clearly see the gap through the inspection slot. Inspection slot Pivot point Gap approx. 1mm D1 D2 F2 After having set either screw D1 or D2, the trigger pull will be set using screw F2: - turn right (clockwise): trigger weight increases (+) - turn left (counterclockwise): trigger weight decreases (-) First stage pull (only for two-stage trigger): The first stage pull can be adjusted using screw F1: F1 - turn right (clockwise): first stage pull increases(+) - turn left (counterclockwise): first stage pull decreases (-) Any adjustment of the trigger pull will affect the first stage pull and vice versa because they are interdependent. 4

Sear engagement C Sear engagement The sear engagement was Correctly adjusted when the rifle left the factory. Adjusting the sear engagement requires a lot of experience.

6 Sear engagement C Sear engagement The sear engagement was Correctly adjusted when the rifle left the factory. Adjusting the sear engagement requires a lot of experience. Always have your gunsmith make sear adustments. If this adjustment is not done properly, you may experience malfunctions! The pictures below show the sear engagement either too small (Pic. 1) or too large (Pic. 2). Watch out! If the Sear overlapp is too small, the trigger can be accidently released by the slightest movement or vibration! Additionally, the lifespan of your trigger will be dramatically reduced. The overlap can be adjusted with screw C: - turn right (clockwise): sear engagement decreases - turn left (counterclockwise): sear engagement increases Important! To prevent any damage to your precision trigger never close the action forcefully! If the sear engagement is too small or the first stage pull too short, it is possible that a shot could be accidently released when closing the action or a hard blow strucks the rifle. Safety Hint: After having made adjustments to your trigger, always test the proper function by using the dry fire mode. 5

First stage travel: The first stage travel means the distance the trigger blade travels from the zero position to the pressure

The trigger stop screw T can be over tightened. In this case the trigger will not release the firing pin! Trigger stop screw is tightened too much. 6

Set triggers are very delicate and should be handled with extreme precaution.

8 Adjusting the trigger blade: Loosen the locking screw. The trigger blade can be pivoted sideways or moved back and forth. The asymetrical trigger rail 5 can be flipped 180 degrees, to gives you an additional option for adjusting the trigger blade sideways. Locking screw 5 5 Changing from double stage trigger to set trigger When the bolt is cocked turn set screw L cockwise until the trigger releases. Then turn bolt set screw L counter clockwise half a turn. L L Inspection slot Watch out! Set triggers are very delicate and should be handled with extreme precaution. When the trigger pull is set very lightly, malfunctions may occur. Also there is a higher risk that a shot may go off accidently. After having performed adjustments to your trigger, always test the proper function by using the dry fire mode. 7

9 Changing from set trigger to double stage trigger Turn the set screw L counterclockwise until the desired first stage travel is achieved. L L Inspection slot Malfunction of the trigger due to incorrect adjustments If you experience trigger malfunctions due to improper adjustment use the following method to correct. Problem: The firing pin does not strike the cartrige. The safety lever of the bolt may catch the firing pin: - Make sure the safety lever is in position F (Fire!). Safety lever on position safe Fire! Firing pin F = firing position - Trigger stop screw T may be tightened too much. Turn screw T slowly clockwise until the trigger releases the firing pin again. T 8

10 Problem: When closing the bolt the trigger does not catch the firing pin - The screw L (first stage travel) is tightened too much. Turn screw L counterclockwise until the trigger catches the firing pin again. You may also achieve the same effect by adjusting the screws D1 and D2. Turn the set screws D1 or D2 slowly counterclockwise until the trigger catches the firing pin again. D2 D1 L - Make sure the trigger spring 3 and first stage spring 4 are not damaged and correctly positioned. 3 4 Safety Hint: After having made adjustments to your trigger always perform a function test in dryfire mode. If the malfunction is corrected you may restore the desired settings to your trigger. Basic trigger settings If you want to restore the basic trigger settings do the following: - Separate the barreled action from the stock. - Turn screw T until the head of the screw is flush with the trigger housing. Set screw is flush with the trigger housing - Use the screw L to allign the trigger bar 5 horizontally. (see picture below on the right) Screw L horizontal - Cock the action. - Use the screws to adjust the trigger according to your wishes. Trigger bar 5 9

When you want to remove the trigger housing you need to pull the trigger blade backwards to disengage the sear from the release lever.

11 Removing the trigger housing Separate the barreled action from the stock. Remove the bolt. Remove the two trigger housing screws. Trigger housing screws (M4 x 16mm) Watch out! When you want to remove the trigger housing you need to pull the trigger blade backwards to disengage the sear from the release lever. Only when the sear is completely disengaged from the release lever will you be able to separate the trigger housing from the action. Sear Correct: Sear is disengaged from release lever Incorrect: Sear is engaged with the release lever Release lever 10

12 Carefully wiggle the trigger housing out of the positioning holes. The positioning pins are on the side of the trigger housing. Two positioning pins Base plate Two positioning holes Attaching the trigger housing To attach the trigger housing perform the above seqence in reverse. Watch out! When you want to attach the trigger housing you need to pull the trigger blade backwards to disengage the sear with from the release lever. Only if the sear is completely disengaged from the release lever are you able to attach the trigger housing.
