2 2019BMX NEW ZEALAND SOUTH ISLAND TITLES January Event Guidelines BMX New Zealand, the Mainland South Region & the Dunedin BMX Club are proud to present the 2019 BMX New Zealand South Island Titles, the premier South Island event for BMX racing in New Zealand. The following guidelines will detail the event & all the requirements for entry. EVENT LOCATION: Venue - Dunedin BMX Club Address - Forrester Park, Norwood Street, North East Valley, Dunedin ENTRIES CLOSE: INDIVIDUAL ONLINE ENTRY ONLY - See info regarding online entry on last page ALL CLASSES close 8 pm - 25 November NO LATE ENTRIES will be accepted (SUPERTOUR entry on day) ENTRY FEES: per Rider per Class UCI ages 5&under & 6yrs $30.00 (no transponder needed) Challenge (20 & Cruisers) $75.00 Championship Classes $75.00 SUPERTOUR $30.00 NZ ENTRY INFORMATION: Individual Entry at hgps://bmxevents.nz/2019sit No entry will be taken on day of event. Entry is complete only when payment is confirmed. BMXNZ reserves the right to refuse entry to any person. No refunds will be given ajer Friday 11 January 2019 for any reason. Refund prior to this will be given on receipt of medical cerficate, less administraon fee of $20. SUPERTOUR - Entry on the day entry or online. SUPERTOUR riders must also enter Age Group in either 20 or Cruiser or Championship class within the South Island Titles event. AUSTRALIAN ENTRIES: Riders must hold a valid BMXA licence & have adequate racing insurance cover, then apply for a BMXNZ licence online at > EVENTS > Internaonal Licences. Entry via std online system with your BMXNZ licence number. Payment is done during entry online. 3 TRANSPONDERS: Transponders will be used at this event (except 5&under and 6yr Sprockets). Please update your Online Profile with your transponder number BEFORE the entries close - hgps://nzbmx.club/riderportal There will be NO rental transponders by BMXNZ other third pares may have rental transponders. Transponder check. All transponders will need to be checked onsite prior to racing. This will be done at the check point near the Admin hut. The process is a simple roll over a mat loop & then checking detail on a screen. Any errors must be noted with event admin. This process can be done at anyme during the Friday pracce mes or am Saturday morning. NUMBER PLATES & SIDE STICKERS: Number plates & side sckers will be issued to riders by the Club Manager and must be used within this event, including all official pracce sessions. Ranking Plates - A rider holding a 1 8 ranking from the following meengs; Worlds 2018, BMX NZ Naonal Championships 2018, South Island Titles 2018 and wish to use this number at the meeng, the ranking must be clearly marked on the entry form. All riders not entering with these rankings or with an incorrect ranking will be issued with randomly selected numbers. PRACTICE PRIOR TO EVENT: The track may be available prior to official mes listed below. The club will issue a metable when available. OFFICIAL OPENING CEREMONY : Opening ceremony Saturday am RACING START TIMES: Saturday am Sunday am RACING FORMAT MOTO DRAW: BMX NZ computer moto mixing & lane draws Quarter & Semi Finals snake seeding method LANE DRAW SELECTION: Lane choice for riders progressing through to 1/8, 1/4 and 1/2 (depending on the number of parcipants) and the final will be in accordance with UCI BMX Rule bis: MINIMUM CLASS SIZE 6 riders constute a class (amalgamaons as required). Class sizes will be determined ajer the close of entries for trophy allocaon purposes. BMXNZ SUPERclass - 6 rider constute a class. CHAMPIONSHIP, CHALLENGE 20 & CRUISER Classes: 4 motos Saturday, 2 motos Sunday then finals (depending on class sizes) 8 or less riders: 4 motos Saturday, 3 motos Sunday, points aggregated 9 or more riders: 4 motos Saturday, 2 motos Sunday then; 9-16 riders: to deadman final riders: to deadman semis & deadman final riders: to quarters, semis & final (all deadman) riders: to eighths, quarters, semis & final (all deadman) BMXNZ SUPERseries 16+ or more riders 3 Moto s then top 8 to A final following 8 to B final, remaining riders to C final 3 finals points over 9-15 riders 3 Moto s then top half to A final, lower half to B Final 3 finals points over 8 or less riders 6 Moto s points over KIWI SPROCKETS: Riders 5 &6yrs will be non-ranking parcipaon classes TIED POSITIONS: All ed posions will be separated by Countback. No run-offs will be held.

4 CLIP PEDAL REGULATIONS: All riders UCI12yrs and below cannot use clip pedals. CONTINGENCY PLANS: In case of disrupon or weather, moto format may be changed, at the discreon of the Chief Commissaire. In cases of extreme delay or weather, Monday may be used as an alternate day for racing PRIZE GIVING: This will be held trackside Sunday 14 January, approximately 30 minutes ajer the finish of racing. SCRUTINEERING: Officials will randomly check riders before and during the event, including all official pracce and warm up sessions when safety gear and number plates must be worn. It is recommended that clubs & managers scruneer all bikes prior to the event. OFFICIALS MEETING: SATURDAY am SUNDAY am TEAM MANAGERS MEETING: FRIDAY pm SATURDAY - 30 minutes ajer the end of racing EVENT MANAGEMENT NUMBER: BMXNZ Representave - Warren BMXNZ SOUTH ISLAND TITLES EVENT HEALTH & SAFETY STATEMENT BMXNZ, The Mainland South Region & Dunedin BMX Club will comply with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 by commiung to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all riders, families and visitors to the BMX Event facility. It is the sports policy to make every praccal and reasonable effort to protect all visitors, to prevent accidents or serious harm injuries and promote safety and welfare of all persons while on the event facility. BMXNZ, The Mainland North Region & Dunedin BMX Club will take all possible steps to list and evaluate hazards and to determine soluons to eliminate or minimise those hazards as part of the Risk Management Plan (RMP), to meet the sports policy noted above. BMX Racing is an acon sport & inherently has risks that are accepted as part of sport. All known risks are noted in the BMXNZ Major Meeng RMP & this is available onsite during the event. Pares wanng to assess the RMP prior to entry must contact the club for detail. Entry to this event confirms an understanding of the risks of the sport as noted in the RMP. In the event of injury to an event parcipant, a completed entry is consent to proper medical treatment being administered. Event entry also consents to submit to drug tesng if required. All entrants agree to be bound by the regulaons and general condi- ons for this event as published by BMXNZ in its latest rule book. Any reference to BMXNZ within this flyer or entry is referring to BMX New Zealand Inc. Safety and safe pracces at all BMXNZ calendared events are not negoable and failure by anyone to comply by the code of conduct or rules of the sport will result in the removal of such person from the event facility. AWARDS & TROPHY ALLOCATION: Determined from the me that entries close for Trophy purposes. For trophy placings, a count back method will be used to rank riders on equal points at the end of racing Challenge & Championship Class Classes with 8 riders or less: Trophies and Presentaon Plates to 3 rd place Classes with 9+ riders: Trophies to 3 rd place and Presentaon Plates to 8 th place Personalised cerficates will be sent to clubs as soon as available. Sprockets Classes: All riders will receive a event trophy BMXNZ SUPERTOUR Purse: Purse + payback, to be paid at prize giving Purse split per BMXNZ proporons and calculated per class based on number of entries. No trophies or presentaon plates to be issued SECURITY: There will be security at the track from 6.00 pm to 7.00 am on Friday, Saturday. However BMX New Zealand Inc., the host Region and Club accepts no responsibility for thej or damage to property. ONLINE ENTRY PROCESS: BELOW is the link to the INDIVIDUAL ONLINE ENTRY site. All riders must ENTER THEMSELVES. Supply all detail as requested, check entry detail & confirm entry. PAYMENT process will follow the entry. Use credit card on the site provided or POLi PAY direct transfer. (Internaonal entrants must use online credit card transacon) LIVE RIDER LISTS will be shown online & update daily from the entry detail input by the entrants. Any correcons must be supplied to the entry admin prior to entry close. Changes ajer entry close will result in a $50 change fee. FINAL entry lists will be sorted by CLUB and will supplied to the Club Managers to organise the collecon & distribuon of race plates at the event.
