Race Description Day of Registration Day of Race Registration will open at 8:00am. First race at 9:00am. Please Note: Race lengths and start time may vary on the day of race. Please check your start times and lengths on day of race. Race Distances: The race course is approximately a 4.6 mile course through the 70 acre Salem Hills Park. The singletrack section of the course runs through a great mix of tight and twisty trees and across wide open rolling hills through the prairies. The trail surface is mostly hard-packed, but there are a few slightly sandy areas. With only a few trail obstacles the course is designed for speed! Racers of all levels will be challenged by how fast they can push themselves and when to strategically attack or pass another racer. Give back to the people who build the majority of trails in MN! All race proceeds from the Freewheel Frolic go to MN Off-Road Cyclists (MORC). For more information on MORC, please go to

Team Racing Guidelines General: Teams (with a list of their members) will contact John Oman at j_oman@yahoo.com to register for the race season. All Team participants must have a Series registration to be eligible in the Team Competition. Series registration can be completed on line between April 15 and June 24 or at one of the first four Series races. No Series registrations will be accepted after the forth Series race. Team registration will be due (send to John) no later than May 17th in preparation for the first Series race on May 22nd. Each team will designate a Team Contact to be the interface between the team and John and to communicate the team roster and changes. Any changes - (adds/deletes) in team members or new teams that take place after May 17 must be made by notifying John three days prior to the next race. On each individual race registration, a racer will identify that he

11 Page 6 of 6 is racing on a team and the name of the team. If there are discrepancies between the race registration and the list John provides the race timer, John's list will take precedent. Team Scoring Guidelines Team Competition will be held in Citizen, Sport, Comp, and Elite (Expert and Pro combined) classes. Team competitions will be co-ed in Citizen, Sport, and Elite classes (no women s comp class). There will not be separate men s teams or women s teams but rather a combined team consisting possibly of both genders. Men and women will still score points based on where they place within their gender. Therefore, a male and a female can contribute the same number of points towards their team. (Ex: There could be a 1st place male and a 1st place female on the same team. They both would earn 1st place points towards their team s total score.) Their points scored will be combined for a total team score. Team racers will not be separated into age groups The top three racers from each team will count towards its team's total score. There is no maximum number of riders per team. For scoring purposes, if less than 3 riders on a team finish a race, the team will still receive a team score but will automatically be scored behind the teams with 3 riders. A person may only be registered with one team at each race. Team scores will be calculated separately from the overall individual standings and will reflect only how members of the team place against members of other teams. Team scores for each race will be calculated based on placing with the low score winning the event. First place in the race gets 1 point, second - 2points, third - 3 points, etc. For the overall season standings 1st place team at a race gets 150 points, second place team gets 142, etc. End of the season recognition will be based on a team's top 6 events. In the event of a tie at the end of the year, the teams' best 7th event will be used. An end of the year award will be given to the team that has the best overall placing in all 4 classes. Team scoring summary for series overall: 1st= 150 2nd= 142 3rd= 135 4th= 129 5th= 124 6th= 120 7th= 116 8th= 112 And so on following the MNSCS overall guidelines on scoring. Team scores will be posted by the middle of the week on the MNSCS web site. The top teams will be recognized at the awards party at the end of the year. To be eligible for a Series award: Two teams participating: award = one place Three teams participating: award = two places Four or more teams participating: award = three places
