RACECMRRA@MSN.COM Web Page: ROUND TWO - GRANGE MOTOR CIRCUIT February 6, First of all, this is probably the first newsletter in a long time that I haven t had to complain about the turnout. In this one, I want to thank everybody for coming out on Super Bowl Sunday. Believe it or not, it was one of the best turnouts we ve had in quite a few months. I sure hope that this is a indication of the year to come. I also want to thank Jim Granger who owns the track for again taking the time to take pizza orders for the riders that wanted one. He even went so far, because somebody took one of the pizzas that was going to Wayne our starter, to go all the way back into town and get Wayne a super looking hamburger combo. Saturday, there were quite a few bikes out for practice which is held by the track. The weather on Saturday was nice and warm with no breeze. On Sunday though, things changed. It was cold and windy all day. We could see rain in the distance, but it actually held off at the track until about 30 minutes after the races were done. And then all we had was just a few showers. We managed to get through 30 races with no major upsets or delays, which is always great. At the riders meeting we discussed having some 2 hour endurance races during the year. It was suggested that they be on Saturday after practice cutting off Saturday practice at 2:00pm. And Saturday practice fee be reduced. We need a minimum of 10 teams to do this. A team consists of 2 riders and a score person, one bike. Riders switch every 1/2 hour. Classes would be Stock, Modified, 80cc and XR s. The cost would be $50.00 per team. If your interested in this please let me know so we can schedule something in. Have you checked out our photo page link on our web site? Thanks to Rod Girard and Leonard Mellgren, we have new photos shortly after each race. As of last week there were over 8000 hits on the site. Also, those of you at Grange saw some of the work done by Win Boediarto with his photos. If your interested in having this done, you can contact Win at (714) or at turnoneministry@sbcglobal.net. Our next race is Mar. 5-6th. So remember, that Pre- Entry closes on March 2nd. That means your Preentry must be in our office by that date. Mailing it in the day before doesn t work in 99% of the time, so judge accordingly. ANOTHER REMINDER!!!
