2. President s Report Ladies and Gentlemen I apologise for not being at the AGM but I could not arrange my travels to be there. These years seem to be going by faster and faster, this has been a busy year again for Motorcycling SA with the running of the general business and the further development of new initiatives. I will leave it to Chris to outline these. Chris and his team put on a great Night of Champions with the inaugural Hall of Fame, the night was well attended and every one I have talked to enjoyed themselves. Chris has been busily involved in the implementation of the new data base with General Manager s from WA, Rick and NSW, Daniel. Progress has been a bit slow but we have been putting more focus on the issues that have been slowing it from going live. The Whole of Sport Review (Wosr) asked for by Council (each SCB President) has been progressing well with an interim draft document presented to the review panel. There are no real surprises in the report so far but we are still waiting for the financial audits to be completed on MA and MAIL. I cannot go into too much detail at this time but one of the recommendations to come from the Wosr is to form a nominations committee to seek suitably qualified people to join the MA Board. The members of this committee will be released shortly. As part of the Wosr panel I would like to thank all of you that have participated in the process, because of your participation I believe Peter Phair (consultant) will deliver a strong review. I thank all of our tireless volunteers that keep coming back year after year making our association work. I also thank the MSA Board for their time and efforts this year. We had our first club President join the board for an invited 3month term, I would like to thank Matthew Rosenzweig (Keyneton) for his input to the board and the professional manner he presented both himself and his club. Have a great year Brenton Matters President, Motorcycling South Australia 4 P a g e

3. General Manager s Report 2014 again provided challenges and rewards. The achievements of Motorcycling SA are enabling us to recover from previous debt burden, and also grow our sport so that more people can enjoy what a great sport it is. We have only be able to achieve this year through the outstanding commitment of the staff in the office. All have gone above and beyond what is expected. Collectively we have tried to get out to events, to support and learn from what riders, officials and clubs are finding at both recreational and competitive events. We are lucky that people like Kate and Steven are willing to give up their weekends to better service our sport. We were stable in our staffing again in 2014 (although in early 2015 our longest serving staff member, Claire Lyng, left us for another opportunity). We wish her the best, and whilst it is always a challenge to replace someone, it has provided a great opportunity to add fresh enthusiasm to our team. Finances 2014 saw further recovery, and a return to surplus with positive profit recorded. This was primarily due to the increases outlined below, resulting increased income, but also further reduction in expenses. It should be noted that expenses will likely increase in future years, as programs and initiatives further develop, as most savings from general operating have been fully realised. Full Audited Financials will only be available at the meeting, due to delays with the undertaking of the audit. SA Government Office of Recreation and Sport Support for Motorcycling SA has continued through the Office of Recreation and Sport, both financially and through the support of our Industry Advisor. ORS continue to provide significant resources for clubs, through Star Club, V-Star (volunteer program) and various grant programs. Motorcycling SA has received support through a grant to undertake facility development guidelines, in particular Noise related issues. This funding will be expended in 2015, with a consultant engaged to undertake the necessary work. It is intended that the outcome will provide a better, fairer and appropriate way to address how the EPA considers noise from motorsport facilities. We also received a small grant to assist with the development of a Club Manual, and Club Development initiatives. The support and additional funding through Office of Recreation and Sport is greatly appreciated, and we continue to work closely with them on the management and development of our sport. Motorcycling SA has also been a participant in the Road Safety Motorcycle Reference Group, with other motorcycling stakeholders. Key outcomes included an audit of motorcycle routes, targeted improvement programs and maintenance for motorcycle specific initiatives, including barrier skirts etc. 5 P a g e

Licencing and Participation 2015 showed an increase in licencing, particularly at junior level, with strong growth in the non-competitive (recreational) licences. Percentage increases are shown in the adjacent table. Additionally Non-competitive participation increased, this was even with MRA closed for many weekends during the year, due to weather impacts. Competition activity increased slightly, even though the number of events (as shown in the annual comparison table later in the document) decreased. This decrease in competition events is considered to be based on the following: Limited officials to run competition events, Flaggy requirements Cost both to competitors and to clubs Licence Type % change Senior National 2% Junior National 14% Nippers/Mini 23% Restricted National 8% Recreational 12% One Event National 35% Sub total Single Activity Recreational Single Activity Competition TOTALS Non Competitive Total Participation 21% Competitive Total Participation 1% Work will continue to address each of these areas, with a change in permitting structure the first step to assist the cost, particularly for smaller events. Night of Champions - Hall of Fame Finding an appropriate way to end the year, recognising achievements of riders, clubs, and volunteers, has always presented a challenge. The need to create an interesting, entertaining and enjoyable night, whilst presenting a large number of awards is difficult to achieve. Motorcycling SA revised its format in 2015, creating a Night of Champions including the establishment and induction of the first three members to the Motorcycling SA Hall of Fame. The night was well attended with over 180 guests coming to celebrate the 2014 Season. The evening including special guests from MX Kirk Gibbs and Luke Arbon and road race young talent, Daniel Falzon, Olly Simpson and Levi Day who gave the crowd a great insight in to their seasons and what is in store for the 2015 season. We also got to hear from Shane Diener and Linden Forbes on their 2014 Dakar experience, including the challenges of just getting to the event also saw the commencement of a new volunteer recognition award, where all clubs could nominate people for recognition, with Motorcycling SA then selecting an overall recipient for specified regions throughout the state. We also continued to acknowledge our top performing clubs, with Club of the Year and the highly regarded Frank Franklin Award. The night was made possible through the great work and support of the following: Kate Pitt, and the staff of Motorcycling SA Peter Stevens Motorcycles for bike displays and donation of a helmet for the door prize Chris Caust for design of Hall of Fame Award montages All the guest riders for attending LKI and Penrite Oils for donation of prizes Various photographers that donated photos for the night 6 P a g e

SA again hosted some Key National Championship events in 2014: Speedway Riders Association, Gillman Speedway hosted the final round of the Australian Speedway Solo Championships and the U/21 title and U/16 250cc Championship. Murray Bridge MX hosted the SA round of the MX Nationals at the Murray Bridge MX Track. With SA riders Kirk Gibbs and Luke Arbon taking the round wins in MX 1 and MX2 respectively. Keyneton MCC hosted the SA rounds of the AORC at Coonawarra, putting on a challenging and enjoyable event. This event was recognised as best AORC round of the year. Port Augusta MCC hosted the Classic MX titles. We also had an excellent range of State Title events in all disciplines in Well done to all the clubs that hosted Championship events. What did we achieve in 2014? Sustained operation of our sport Continued strong rider numbers in many State Title events/series Improved processing of Licences Improved financial position Development initiatives National Come n Try day Elite Rider Squad Initiating Minikhana in SA Facility matters Pursued former 3 Star site for Junior Development Continued to adjust management of ACUSA Park State Team support including uniforms MX Junior National s A4DE Junior Speedway Best Pairs Moto Trials Whilst we achieved many things in 2014, we still have further improvement, including: Progressing the Off Road Motorcycle Strategy Development of a Junior Development Facility at Wingfield, for Minikhana and Coaching Improvement of tracks and facility at ACUSA Park Enhanced promotion of events, the sport and our clubs. Improved club support Officials Training Constitutional update Nationally we have continued to be a strong contributor to discussions at National Manager and Council level. The effort of our President should not be underestimated, as he has and continues to be a significant part of the rebuilding of MA. The introduction of the new national database for the organisation has taken far longer than envisaged, however it is a transformational step for motorcycling, and must be done properly. 7 P a g e

2014 saw change for our national body, Motorcycling Australia, with the retirement of long-time Chief Executive David White, replaced by Dale Gilson. Additionally there was a change of President with Braxton Laine taking the reins. Behaviour management, both at events/activities, and particularly on social media continues to have an impact in our sport. On many occasions such issues have a direct impact on the volunteer base of clubs and indeed for officials. We need to ensure we collectively act appropriately and in accordance with the Code of Conduct as part of the Member Protection Policy. I would like to thank Brenton and all the MSA Board members through 2014 for their support and contribution will be a year of further change for Motorcycling and I look forward to what that will mean for us in SA. Thanks to our club executives, officials and volunteers. You all put in a great deal of effort to enable your clubs to run events and activities and we in the office, and the Board appreciate everything you do. Chris McArdle General Manager 4. Development Report 2014 was another big year in the development role, Motorcycling SA continued build on our successes in 2013 with further developing our programs. A big success of the year, was the revamp of our awards night with the induction of the Motorcycling SA Hall of Fame. The Night of Champions, was a fantastic night, that was well supported with around 180 guest turning out to celebrate our sport as a whole as well as celebrating the first ever riders to be inducted into the Motorcycling SA Hall of Fame, something that Motorcycling SA can see being the pinnacle of a riders career. Coaching Training: In 2014, Motorcycling SA ran one coaching seminar in September, This was run a little differently this year, involving the theory & practical parts of the course held on site at the Gillman MX Track. We had 12 new coaches come and do this course, with new presenter Darren Trotter facilitating the technical parts of the coaching course and I conducted the parts from Motorcycling SA. The day ran really well and in future we will run the courses in this format. Most of the new coaches were from a road race background, which was great to see and suited Darren with his experience in this area. Thank you to MRA for allowing us to use the sign in box as our class room and the start straight for our practical. From the course 6 of the coaches have already been upgraded to level 1 coaches, with the other 6 coaches still to complete their probation hours, but are close to doing this. There was no level 2 coach s course held by MA in 2014, but one is planned for 2015, which we have one SA coach ready to attend. We also held a Development night for our current coaches with a seminar presented by Sports Psychologist Geof Boylan-Marsland. This was a great insight in to how to coach different riders, and how they might learn better through different coaching techniques. 8 P a g e

Coaching Days: In 2014, Motorcycling SA decided not to hold any coaching days, and focused on come n try days as well as Minikhana. Clare still held their annual coaching day in May, which was again well attended. Clubs around the state continued to run kickstart days and our commercial coaches held their coaching schools throughout the state. 2013/14 & 2014/15 Motorcycling SA Elite Rider Program The first Elite rider program wrapped up very well in November, after Motorcycling SA had followed and supported the first squad of Elite riders. We had outstanding results from all our riders, which was great to see. With only 9 riders the 2013/14 squad it was great to see so many outstanding achievements from all of you. For the 2014 season the squad members managed to rack up an amazing amount of top three places in overall standings in state level competition. We also had 5 state champions amongst our squad - Todd Barry SAORC 1st Pro Class Todd Barry SART 1st Road Trials A Grade (Winning the 24hour Trial in this series) Jordan Heinrich SAORC- 1st C3 class Luke Bunnik SAORC 1st C1 Class Sofie Kraft SA Moto Trials Championship 1st Open Women's With two more squad members making the podium in their classes at their state championships Brodie Sheidow 2nd MX 125cc Class Tyler Lange 3rd MX1 Expert With a few of squad members just missing out on a podium result, Jett Anderson finishing 4th, Jett also had a great year at the MX Nationals riding in the MXD class finishing a strong 12th overall. Brodie Sheidow had a consistent year on his 250cc bike finishing just off the podium in 4th place. Our female squad member, Sofie had a great year and just missed out on a podium at the Victorian State title finishing 4th. In all the state level competitions that the Elite Squad riders competed in throughout all the rounds, they achieved fantastic results within the top ten- 22 First Places 18 Second Places 10 Third Places 10 Fourth Places 2 Fifth Places 1 6th Place As these results show, all were able to show why they were deserving members of the inaugural Elite Rider Program, Well done to all our squad on a great year! Once again the 2014/15 camp was held at West Beach sporting fields with a further training being held on site at the CTS training gym in Prospect. We had a total of 10 SA riders and 2 Northern Territory riders joining us for the camp, which was awesome. From the feedback from the previous year s squad we extended the program- The program will follow these riders throughout the 2015 season and provide ongoing support, promotion and training. 12 riders were chosen for the program from their applications: Name: Location: Discipline: Arron Hartwig Ramco Speedway Sidecar Connor Hogan Wirrabara Moto Trials Dakota Ballantyne Lewiston Speedway/ Dirt Track Harrison Norton Clare Enduro James Booth- Elliott Virginia Motocross/ Super cross 9 P a g e

Each of the pages, SAORC, SART and ACUSA Park pages have other members also contributing with posts which helps to get content on these pages more regularly. Not surprisingly the stats on the pages show that pictures and video posts get the most hits, which is an aim for us in 2015 to increase this type of content on the page to interact further with our audience. Our newsletters which is set out like a magazine has been sent out regularly, but takes a lot of time to put together, with the new website in 2015, our communication of many of these style of items will change again, providing news items as soon as practical from an event. 10 P a g e

Minikhana: Motorcycling South Australia 2014 Annual Report In October, Motorcycling SA assisted the Clare MCC with their first Minikhana. It had been quite some time since the last one had been run in SA. The club was really keen to see how Minikhana runs, and how their riders found the events. The Club representatives and I set up the courses on Saturday ready for the riders on Sunday, we capped the entry just so we were able to see how the day run and allow the riders to have enough time to the learn the courses. We had a total of 30 riders come out and give it a go! We had some older kids from the club demo and took the groups from field to field- The day was a success and we have interest from a few other clubs to host these events in National Come N Try Days: Last year Motorcycling SA held National Come N Try days in February, we had 10 clubs participate in the day with over 400 riders attending these days. Just over 200 riders took up the free licence offer, which is still a good number, but we would have hoped for a higher percentage. These days have proven to be a great success for the clubs that host them with new memberships coming from those that participate, as well as getting more people coming out to try our sport. Development Goals 2015: Junior Development Facility at Wingfield Development of new Motorcycling SA website 2015 Elite Rider Program Further Increase promotion of the sport, through social media, improved news, images and video within the new website Night of Champions & Hall of Fame Kate Pitt Development Officer 5. Operations Officials Training: In 2014 we held the following seminars with the relevant numbers of attendance: Level Where Date Attendees 1 and 2/3 refresher MSA Hall 19/02/ Sound Testing Gawler MCC 23/04/ Sound Testing Clare MCC 06/04/ Sound Testing MSA 05/05/ and 2/3 refresher Keith 06/05/ and 2/3 refresher South Coast 15/05/ and 2/3 refresher MSA 21/05/ and 2/3 refresher MSA 20/08/ Sound Testing ACUSA Park 22/06/ Speedway Gillman 16/11/ Scrutineer Speedway Key Gillman 16/11/ Official Sound Testing Mallala 19/10/ P a g e

Motorcycling SA has continued to seek common materials and pathways through MA, and the National Officials Committee has developed a revised pathway, however it is yet to be endorsed. Information forums for experienced officials will be a focus of 2015, with sessions currently under development for Steward/Clerk of Course and Race Secretary. Focus areas will include how to deal with difficult situations (people) and expanding and sharing other official s experience. Sound Testing Sound testing became a requirement for all competitive events in Motorcycling SA had taken an educative approach in the implementation of this requirement. Further work will continue in 2015 to ensure this key risk to motorcycling is managed appropriately. Track Licencing A number of new track inspectors participated in the MA run training, including both the General Manager and the Operations Officer. It was extremely beneficial for office staff to undertake the training, so as to better understand the complexities of undertaking an inspection, and the importance of such for the office to be able to make a determination on licencing venues. Continued effort is being made to improve consistency, with the aim to make our tracks safer and more compliant. An annual inspectors forum will be commenced in 2015, specifically focussing on MX (but relevant to all venues) which will hopefully improve the understanding of the responsibilities of both the inspectors, and the SCB as licencing authority. For MX State Championship venues in 2015, we will have one inspector undertake all venue inspections. Injuries from events (those that result in transport or referral to Hospital or Doctor) As part of the increased scrutiny of event reports, we have captured data on injuries that have occurred at permitted events. Injuries are an unfortunate element of our sport, and this data is being collected so that any trends can be determined, and action taken to improve safety if necessary. You will note that MX Competition is highly represented. It should be noted that MX has the highest participation rate, so this result is not unexpected. The data did highlight a number of incidents at MX State Title events, thus the change in inspection requirement as outlined above. 12 P a g e

Future Plans: Working with the NOC on a National Officials Accreditation to ensure that we are the same across all states Further develop seminars to be more visual and user friendly for new officials Develop further workshops for non-competitive days so that clubs are aware of how to run practice/ride days Further noise testing seminars will be held throughout 2015, to ensure clubs are aware of how to use the equipment and how to conduct these test correctly Steven Matthews Operations Officer 13 P a g e

6. Road Race Once again I would like to commence this report by acknowledging the valuable contribution made by the club delegates to the Road Race Committee. When critically analysing the outcomes achieved at the conclusion of my third year in the role of Sports Manager there is much to be proud of, and it is a direct reflection of the level of co-operation and willingness to participate amongst the group. The Highlights 2014 The 2014 Road Race State Championship returned albeit in a one round format instead of the anticipated 2 rounds. Difficulties with venue dates and low participation locally are a major stumbling block for organising clubs and a solution is not clearly evident at this point in time. At the time of writing this report the 2015 titles have just been reduced to a single event due to similar issues as last year, it s disappointing but we still have a championship, better than not having it at all. The Historic Road Race State Titles run at Mac Park over the Christmas /New Year break continues to draw in the vicinity of 150+ competitors and is a well-supported and popular event for the older machinery. Last year was the second year of rider grading conducted under the revised guidelines and it has proved to be a fairly robust method with very few challenges. The only issue yet to fully sort is the allocation of racing numbers, the allocations still have a lot of old data which does tend to complicate rider gradings when used as a back reference. South Australian riders continue to excel in both national series and overseas competition, which is partly due to their gaining valuable experience and being well supported locally, and to a greater extent with their desire to achieve and dedicated family support. Once again this year we have some of our younger riders venturing off to participate overseas and we wish them well in their endeavours. The Motorcycling SA website will be used to highlight their adventures either by posts from the committee or more often by their own well developed race reports and information updates. On to 2015 Last year I stated that a challenge for the year was to attempt to tidy up the race numbers allocation files, the process continues but has its issues, we shall persevere. Venue availability for Adelaide based riders is an ongoing issue with Mallala being our only local track, although the development at Tailem Bend appears to be gaining some momentum. The decision by the management of Mallala for the return of Champions ride days was an unexpected change for us, not only has it cut local clubs out of opportunities to supplement race day financial returns, it also makes it difficult to engage with ride day participants with the view towards encouragement to step up to competition. The return of a national series again to the venue this May will hopefully continue to put a much needed focus on what we do both in terms of increasing participation of riders and improving spectator awareness of the sport. 14 P a g e

Happy to report that the position regarding officials for road racing has improved in the past year with the addition of 2 people in senior steward and clerk of course roles. We still engage officials from different disciples from time to time which can only be a benefit to all particularly when the effort is reciprocated. The Historic Motor Cycle Racing Register has received approval to conduct the 2015 National Historic Championship over the weekend of 8 th to 11 th October. The committee and other road race clubs will be involved in supporting and assisting the HMCRRSA wherever possible to run this important meeting. The development of juniors has made a small resurgence this past year with the availability of the skid pan at Mallala for initial junior training. I must congratulate those who have persevered with this effort and particularly note the contribution by Daniel and Jon Falzon for their hands on role this past year. As noted last year, the work continues, the challenges remain, the art is in how we approach the task. Phil Baughan MSA Road Race Sports Manager 7. Enduro SAORC Velocette MCC round 1 held at Murray Bridge- Sprint 13th April The first round saw 207 riders Ariel MCC round 2 held at Pinnaroo X-Country - 25 th May Keyneton MCC round 3 & 4 held at Coonawarra - Sprint 21 st /22 nd June Doubling as a state and national round. This round won the National Australian round of the year Clare MCC round 5 held at Auburn X-Country -3 rd August Gawler MCC round 6 held at Coonalpyn Enduro 24 th August Juventus MCC round 7 held at Mt Crawford X-Country 5th October A new club, Clare MCC did a round and will continue bi annually great to see new clubs come on board An ongoing challenge for Enduro and the SAORC is having a pool of appropriately accredited (Level 3+) key officials to run meetings. It is important for clubs to work with volunteers and officials to identify those willing to take on such roles, and then engaging with the Enduro Committee and Motorcycling SA to help these people progress. The Timing system and web site again have been extremely very successful thanks to the outstanding efforts of Adam Hardin and his able assistants Daniel Humby and Adam Guerin. The addition of the caravan for timing/scoring has been a great asset. 15 P a g e

Thank you to all SAORC sponsors being GroveScaff, KTM, Husaberg, GS Moto, Full On Moto Parts, Flinders Motorcycles, Hoey Racing, Dalkar Engineering, Coonawarra Store, Auto Wired, All Hills Locksmiths, Apollo Solar, Funnelweb Filters, Robinson Brothers Transport & Simpsons Signs this is very much appreciated for these funds contribute enormously to the series. The series continued to use Darren Chapman from DC Photographics as official photographer and trophies provider. The chosen charity for 2014 was the local CFS in the area where the rounds were held. Money was collected via CFS tins on the day. The phenomenal amount of interest and gratitude from the Local CFS stations was well appreciated. A survey was given to the riders to see how many rounds they would like in The average was 7.5 rounds so the coming year we will have 7 rounds. The sport is growing in quality riders, numbers and professionalism. The Juniors are growing approx 10% each year. This has resulted in the JL class being split into J3 & J4 classes. Last year the cross country event saw 31 JL riders lined up. Splitting the class will help with this issue. Also the J3 & J4 classes will now coinside with the AORC and the interstate events. It would be good to see more SA riders doing the national rounds. Giving riders more support in any way would be good for the board to look at. Some success was achieved on the national stage with strong 3 rd placings by William Price and Rowan Pumpa their respective AORC series classes. Additionally multi state champion Ivan Long had his focus for 2014 on Desert racing, being a crutial member of the KTM desert team. Ivan finshed 3 rd at Finke, registering the quickest time back to Alice Springs of all riders. He also podiumed at Hattah, and yet still finished a strong second in the SAORC despite missing a round. SA ran with a Junior A4DE Team first then filled a senior team. It has historically been very difficult to pick a senior team for may reasons eg. riders find it hard to get time of work, cost is very expensive to do a 4 day, and commitment towards a 4 day is very demanding etc. The four Junior riders who represented the SA Team at the 2014 A4DE, Jordan Heinrich, Dion & Joel James and Luke Bunnik, had a great experience and are keen to ride again. Improved training/understanding/ monatary support, of what a 4 day event really means to the rider and the helpers would be benificial. We have 24 riders so far wanting to do the 2015 event in Tasmania. Matching tops/jackets made the riders and officials look professional and obviously represent SA. It is suggested for 2015 that optional clothing be offered to helpers as this does build team spirit. The SAORC presentation dinner found 190 guests attending raising money from the auction to support the series and local CFS charity. The series could not run without the support of its sponsors, SAORC exec, committee reps, Timing body, clubs, officials, volunteer/helper, rider, MSA and all supporters of the series. 18 8. Reliability Trials John Songailo 2014 was another good year for Reliability trials. Competitor numbers were still at a good level. MSA has again done a very good job in assisting the sports manager/ committee to ensure the series events ran as smoothly as possible and raise reliability trials profile. A few issues still arise with competitors in relation to rules: - competitive apparel being presented at machine examination - noise levels due to the fact we have to abide by local noise levels not levels in the MOMS - riders not riding quietly in and around town areas - procedures or road directions are explained at rider briefs but riders don t take heed of them resulting in lost riders and rule infringements. These problems are minimal but annoying, hopefully these issues will become smaller with rider education. Preseason days were held again in 2014 including sound testing procedure and training for sound testing officers to assist clubs for compulsory testing at events. All in all the sports manager/committee have continued to remain on target to keep up with requirements to ensure the continuation of the sport with the least amount of transition difficulty. We hope to have another successful year in Again I wish to thank MSA and the delegates for their assistance in the managing of the sport. John Songailo 9. Speedway The Management Group remained unchanged throughout the year, with Shane Parker completing his first year as Sports Manager. Under 16 s involvement within the sport continues to progress with junior coaching, Come n Try days and other areas of junior development. As a result, competitor figures at Sidewinders Speedway continues to increase across all disciplines. Juniors were also given regular opportunity to compete at Gillman Speedway throughout the year during senior events. Several senior coaching days were conducted with noticeable improvements amongst most competitors. Invitations have been extended to both Luke Arbon and Hudson Pitt to attend a Come n Try Solo day in the new year to encourage involvement from other disciplines. Both competitors are keen to attend. 18 P a g e

Improvements to Gillman Speedway continue. Solo pit bays are now complete with individual compressed air outlets and power points fitted for each competitor. A new shed has been erected on the grounds to provide secure housing for the facilities grader, water truck and other equipment. A two minute countdown timer has also been installed above the Referee s box. The canteen has had a revamp plus a change of manager, and now provides a better service for spectators. A concrete walkway has been laid running from the raised spectator area to the club amenities to assist those wanting to move around the venue. Sidewinders Junior Speedway has also had pit bays erected giving the venue a much needed face lift. With the assistance of a Government Grant further improvements to track lighting will finalise the project. Speedway specific scrutineers and officials seminar took place at Gillman. Solo and Sidecar demonstration races were completed at Wayville Showground during the Royal Adelaide Show, which this year marked the 175 th anniversary of the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society. 20 10. Moto Trials Moto Trials has again benefited from the energy, initiative and commitment of Andrew Warnest as Sports Manager, and a committee that continues to work for a success future of the sport. A major success, and continued focus has been junior participation and coaching. The junior program, that sees coaching days prior to events, has achieved great results, evident by the strong junior numbers. The beneift this coaching and increased riding opportunity provides, can also be seen in the skills that the young riders show, with them often attacking obstacles and achiving sections that even some adults are unable to do. The 2014 GRO Global Racing Oils SA Moto Trials Championships were held at the historic Collingrove Hillclimb property of the Sporting Car Club. It was a truly amazing sight to see all riders transport up the famous track, to get to the competitive sections, led by the juniors. Well done to Keyneton MCC for hosting the event, and all the officials and volunteers for making it such an enjoyable weekend. Moto Trials also continued to run the highly competive Troy Series, as well as a number of marquee events, such as the Womens Cup, which is building every year. The calendar of events provides a full season of riding, only possible thanks to the effort of clubs and the generosity of property owners who provide use of each venue. SA again sent representative teams to the national championships in Tasmania, and whilst the overall number of SA Riders was lower than previous years, all did a great job, and importantly had a great time. The Come n Try bike again proved popular, and continues to provide a valuable resource for getting new comers have a try, without needing to buy a bike first. I would encourage everyone to have a go at trials, as it is a great family atmoshpere, and will provide you with some excellent bike control skills that will benefit you in all your riding in the future. Sports Manager Andrew Warnest Submitted by General Manager Motorcycling SA 11. Dirt Track Mud n Tars MCC continued to be the driving force for Dirt Track in 2014, and did a great job in presenting events, and promoting the sport to new participants. The year kicked off with a Come n Try day at Day Road, with great numbers and a lot of new people giving Dirt Track a go. The club also hosted the 2014 Penrite Oils SA Dirt Track Championships, with great racing across all classes. 20 P a g e

Many talented interstate riders competed, with numerous titles going back across the border, however an equal number of very talented SA riders, showing their skills and getting high level competition. Worthy of specific mention are Ty Lynch, Jack Prout, Jake and Luke Mitchell, and in the juniors, Dakota Ballantyne, Casey Marley-Duncan and Cody Dugmore. There is some exciting young talent in SA, so with plans to re-develop ACUSA Park, and hopefully have more dirt track events, we can see these riders grow, and then show others the great opportunity that Dirt Track presents. Gillman Speedway ran some track style events in 2014 during their winter season. Feedback has been positive, so hopefully more take up the option and get out to have a go. Gun young rider Ty Lynch and former Australian Quad Dirt Track Champ Mel Brandle both received an invitation to attend the prestigious Troy Baylis Classic in early It represented a great opportunity for both riders, but particularly Ty who is quickly making a name for himself in the highly competitive fields he competes against. Submitted by General Manager Motorcycling SA 12. MX 2014 again proved to be a great year for MX in SA. Nationally we had SA riders Kirk Gibbs and Luke Arbon achieve series podium finishes for the MX1 and MX2 classes in the MX Nationals, and exciting young talent Alex Larwood also achieving a podium (3 rd ) at the Junior MX National Championships at Appin. Locally numbers were again strong, with the series benefitting from a strong start at MRA with 350 entrants. The seniors provided some great racing on a great track, and set the scene for the series. Unfortunately the juniors had difficult conditions, with excessive rainfall causing very muddy conditions. Thanks to the tireless work of officials and track crews (club) they were able to run, and all did a great job in difficult conditions. Peter Stevens Motorcycles again were naming rights sponsor for the series, and with support from sponsors Y-Aim, Revolution Timing, FirstCare Medical and Pedder Photography, the series again provided a showcase of our sport. Hopefully we can grow this to further spread the joy of MX. The weather for the juniors unfortunately proved a bit of a theme for the season. Wet conditions at Port Augusta, the Keith round experienced some fog, Renmark was a quagmire, with the 50cc s and 65cc s being cancelled. It is a great credit to all that competed, and the club for the outstanding effort it put in that the meeting was able to proceed at all. The season wrapped up at Crystal Brook, in a fitting finale to a challenging season. James Booth-Elliot took out the MX1 championship for the second year in succession, with Daniel Banks taking the honours in MX2. Nick Day dominated the junior ranks older categories, and with him making the step up to seniors in 2015, it will be interesting to see how he progresses. 21 P a g e

2014 saw the end of the benefit that SA MX has received from our Sports Manager, Shannon Reimann. Shannon contributed an amazing amount of time and energy organising, and delivering very successful SA MX series. The level of effort she provided has been a major part to the growth of our sport, and on behalf of Motorcycling SA, I thank her. MX has some great clubs, offering some great competitive and non-competitive events. The EP Series, involving West Coast, Port Lincoln, Whyalla, Port Augusta and Kimba has again proved a great thing for both those on the Eyre Peninsula, and those others that have had the pleasure of making the trip to compete. If you haven t been across for a ride, do yourself a favour and make it part of your seasons plans for next year. It kicks off with the Dash for Cash at Port Lincoln as part of the Tunarama Festival. Port Pirie MCC again hosted the Prince and King of the Gulf, including the Women s Cup over the Easter weekend. It provided some great racing, and proved a great event to lead people into the SA title rounds. Riverland and Morgan provided great events, with numbers down a little on previous years, but still providing some great club racing. Mount Gambier continued with an array of events, whilst trying to pursue a long term future home, given the limitations on the current track. Locally we have had MRA continue with a great club series, Mud n Tars run a number of club days, including the Slur Memorial, Tea Tree Gully offering a number of well attended events also. Another key outcome from 2014 was the leasing of the Murray Bridge MX track to South Coast MX. The Murray Bridge Speedway owns the facility, and with limited resources to run it fully, it decided to lease it out, and in a positive for the sport, South Coast MX took on the lease. It should provide increased opportunity for people to ride the track, and importantly to again race at the home of SA s round of the MX Nationals. Another major achievement in 2014 was the establishment and running of the Murray Williams Cup for Sidecar MX. In a great showcase of sidecar MX, and a fitting tribute to Murray, and indeed long time passenger Wayne Kearvell also saw the re-invigoration of an Australian Championship for Sidecar MX, which is fitting recognition of the effort all crews put into the sport, and particularly for the work ASA and others have done. Well done on a successful 2014, and best of luck for Submitted by General Manager Motorcycling SA - 22 P a g e

13. Quads (ATV) Quads, re-named ATV s in the MA Manual of Motorcycle Sport, have had another interesting year, with many positives and some negatives. In conjunction with the Australian Sidecarcross Association (ASA) the SA Quad Club ran a multi round MX series, in an effort to make it more viable for both clubs. This provided for the sharing of costs and also officials, and for the most part was successful. A new approach will occur in 2015, with the ASA running a series in its own right, whilst still including Quad classes to enable quad competitors from any club, to compete. Quadriders Association of SA also ran MX events in addition to Enduro s and the ever popular camp aways. Numbers for competitive events remained low. A significant positive, and one that should provide benefits in 2015 and beyond, was Quadriders SA taking over the lease for Meningie MX track, providing it a home base and guaranteeing access to the track. It is really great opportunity to maintain the track for the community, but also allow for potential growth of Quad motorcycling. Quad sports manager, Mark Baker has continued to provide a valuable role in supporting quads in SA. His balanced approach has proved beneficial in many circumstances. Submitted by General Manager Motorcycling SA 23 P a g e

14. ACUSA Park Report ACUSA Park benefited again from the contribution of home clubs Levis MCC and Atujara MCC. These clubs ran open to the public ride days, assisted with maintenance of the park, and importantly, through the committee contributed to the future development of the facility. Approximately 800 riders participated in non-competitive activities, with about 200 of those benefiting from access to the property during the week. The venue also hosted an ASA/SA Quad Club MX event, and the traditional Scramble A manager was engaged to coordinate activities, and whilst overall this achieved some positive outcomes, further improvement will likely occur in A major change was achieved late in the year, with both Atujara and Levis agreeing to a change of management control, in that Motorcycling SA, through the office and Board would take responsibility for the facility, the committee becoming an advisory body, and home clubs remaining with volunteer resources to assist open to the public ride days, and to use the venue for club activities. Importantly open to the public ride days will now see the full proceeds returned to development of the property. Obviously this comes at some risk, as in 2014 weather played a significant part for many of the ride days, limiting numbers, however it is seen as a vital step in achieving sustainable operations and investment into the facility. Significant re-development plans are currently being finalised, for submission of a SA Government Grant funding application in April Submitted by General Manager Motorcycling SA 24 P a g e

Consideration is being given to the best way to manage these assets, and indeed whether they represent the right bikes to facilitate entry into Road Racing, with serious discussion about a Senior Come n Try bike.
