And thank you for purchasing this Off-roading Trail Guide! We wanted to collect all the information one would need to decide the most valuable off-roading trail that are in their state to make an educated decision and prevent any surprises. (What do you mean ATV s aren t allowed on these trails?!) We have included important information such as: A) Are permits required? B) What Climate Type? C) How Many Miles are these trails (according to their websites) D) What times of the year are they open? E) Is there a standing entry fee? If so, How much? F) What other vehicles are allowed on these trails? G) UTVs? SXS? ATVs? SUV/Jeeps? Dune Buggies? Sand Rails? 4 Aberdeen Motorcross Track (Aberdeen, SD) ( ) This track is generally available for practice daily, except the Thursday and Friday before a race weekend. 5 Baja ORV Area (Interior, SD) ( ] This remote area offers about 480 acres that is open to all OHVs. The terrain mainly consists of flat, open prairie land with a few 4x4 trails and little vegetation. There is no fee to ride or camp but there are no services available so come prepared. 6 Central South Dakota Racing Association (Pierre, SD) [ ] Located on the outskirts of Pierre, this track is generally open for practice Monday through Friday in the evenings from 5pm to dusk and Saturday and Sunday from 10am to dusk. There is a main track and a peewee track available for riding, and 50cc riders can ride free with a membership. Climate Type Length Of Trail Dates Open Entry Fee? 7 Grammas MX Park (Viborg, SD) [ ] This brand new track is now open for practice. Terrain consists of sand and loamy soil. Future plans are to add restroom and shower facilities. 8 Jackpine Gypsies Motorcycle Club (Sturgis, SD) [ ] Located in Sturgis, the Jackpine Gypsies motorcycle club is one of the oldest AMA clubs around and offers its members a flat track, motocross track and challenging hillclimbs that are situated on 40 acres. During the month of August the club hosts numerous events during the Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

9 Oahe Downstream OHV Area (Fort Pierre, SD) [ ] This area offers 400 acres of hilly grassland terrain that is open to dirtbikes, ATVs and UTVs. While there are no designated trails the property boundaries are marked off. The park also has a motocross track that is maintained by the Central States Racing Association. There is no fee charged to ride and while the area is open year-round, Climate Type Length Of Trail Dates Open Entry Fee? No Plains 400 Daily dawndusk Motorcycles Some Areas Prohibited Prohibited Overnight parking is not permitted. Nearby Oahe Downstream Recreation area offers three campgrounds with modern amenities. There is no direct trail access from either campground so machines will need to be hauled to and from the OHV area.

10 Railroad Buttes (Farmingdale, SD) ( ] This large open area offers miles of trails, play areas with plenty of hill climbs, makeshift motocross tracks and beautiful views of the surrounding hills and grasslands. The staging area offers plenty of flat and spacious room and primitive camping is permitted. Climate Type Miles Long Dates Open Entry Fee? 11 Revheim Bay OHV Area (Mobridge, SD) [ ] This new OHV park opened to the general public in June 2007 and offers a one-mile long trail that resembles a motocross track. Picnic tables, shelters, horseshoe pits, volleyball court and a playground can also be found here. Climate Type Miles Long Dates Open Entry Fee? 12 . Scramblers Cycle Park (Yankton, SD) [ ] This is an often groomed and watered track available to the public for practice seven days a week. The admission fee is $5.00 and track amenities include restrooms and a bike wash. Climate Type Miles Long Dates Open Entry Fee? 13 Sioux Valley Cycle Club (Sioux Falls, SD) [ ] This dirt bike club offers a motocross track, short track and some hare scramble trails to enjoy. You must be a member to gain access to the property, which runs in the neighborhood of $175 per year. Climate Type Length Of Trail Dates Open Entry Fee? Yes Urban/Manmade 160 Motorcycles Prohibited Prohibited Prohibited Also not that members are asked to volunteer at a minimum of two events during the year, or pay an extra $50 per event not worked.

14 Talsmas Trail Park (Avon, SD) [ ] Open during weekends and by appointment during weekdays (weather permitting), this park is located on a Hereford cattle ranch and offers miles of multiple use trails that wind through beautiful grasslands and offers scenic views of the Missouri River. No Plains 5 Weekends 9am-dusk Motorcycles Prohibited Prohibited Camping is permitted for those who purchase two-day rides and can currently be done in the parking area, but a designated campground is in the works. There are several vault toilets on site but no other amenities. Please note that the park currently accepts cash only.

15 Thunder Ridge MX Park (Reliance, SD) [ ] This area has one natural terrain track and one peewee track. There is a separate area for overnight camping, a pond and concession stand available on race days. Check website for current practice and race schedule. Climate Type Miles Long Dates Open Entry Fee?
