2 Welcome to the Bulldog Club! As we begin our transition into the Southern Conference, we also begin a new program within the athletics department.the Bulldog Club is a nonprofit organization that provides financial support for Samford s 17 men s and women s athletic teams. Each team has a division within the Bulldog Club that allows donors to designate financial contributions to a particular team. Our programs for football, men s and women s basketball, and baseball have amenities associated with their program that include such items as ticket priority, VIP, team apparel and decals, just to name a few. In addition, these programs allow an 80% tax deduction. Previously, teams have sent out separate brochures as part of their fund-raising efforts.the Bulldog Club combines these efforts into one program to better serve alumni and fans. Additionally, this will allow coaches to focus more on just that coaching! With your help, donations to the Bulldog Club will provide Samford student-athletes the best opportunity to compete on the field, on the courts and in the classroom. Thank you for supporting our Bulldogs! Vaughan Lyons Director, Samford Bulldog Club The Samford Athletic Foundation s Bulldog Club is a nonprofit organization. Its primary purpose is to provide and secure financial support for the more than 300 studentathletes who compete in the school s 17 men s and women s NCAA athletic programs. Student-athletes are students first, but contributions to the Bulldog Club also allow talented students the opportunity to compete at the highest level, not only in the classroom, but also on the field and the court.
3 Bulldog Club members enjoy tangible benefits based on their contribution levels, including preferred seating and, and invitations to special events. Members accumulate priority points based on contributions, which determine accessibility and location of seating, and postseason ticket distribution. Samford s 2008 graduates receive free membership for one year. Tax-deductible gifts to the Samford Bulldog Club may be made by cash, check (payable to the Samford Bulldog Club) or credit card (Visa or MasterCard). Many companies will match an employee s charitable contribution, often doubling or even tripling the amount of the original gift. These matching contributions may be applied toward your annual membership level in the Samford Bulldog Club. Contact your employer s human resources department to find out more about its matching gift policy. Beginning fiscal year point for every $100 of cumulative contributions 5 points per consecutive year of giving 10 points for former athletes (awarded in your first year of giving, one time only)
