The team of Lalo and Juan and their dogs made the event run very smoothly and their attitude and kindness were a tribute to the founders and organizers of this event. God bless you all and THANK YOU! Dominic & Victor Espitia I wanted to thank you for all your efforts at the pheasant hunt. My daughter Laura had a fantastic time. I also enjoyed watching Tom work the dogs and put Laura in position to make shots. My children look forward to next year s hunt. Hopefully by then my son will have passed his hunter s safety. Thank you very much. Justin Gonzalez

Expecting one or two people to run trap shoots two to four times a month has never been good for longevity. If the shoots are to continue, ideally it would be nice to get 4 to 8 volunteers that are willing to work one week every month or two and spread out the responsibility. Trap shooters stepping up to the line to shoot at the former weekly Trap Shoot. If you are interested in stepping up and helping out the club, please attend the January General Meeting at Pizza Factory at 6:30 PM or contact Melanie White. Thank you. Taft Sport Shooters 3 rd Saturdays Taft Sport Shooters has their matches on the third Saturday of the month. Show up for registration at 8:30 AM and shooting starts at 9 AM. Cost is usually $25 for non-members or $20 for TSC members or for shooters with military ID. Juniors (under 21) and first time ladies shoot for free and get free ammo! Mainly we will be shooting Fabulous Ferrous Fracas with the occasional IDPA or Tactical Shotgun Match. 6 Page 6 Taft Sportsmen s Club Taft Shooters Challenge 2014 The 3 rd Annual Taft Shooter s Challenge (TSC) 2014 was held on Saturday November 29, 2014 at the Taft Sportsmen s Club Range. The Taft Shooter s Challenge is a timed, team shooting competition that also incorporates Geocaching into the course of fire. Geocaching is a global treasure hunt that involved hiding geocaches and posting their coordinates online for other geocachers to find. The TSC involves four stages of shooting a.22 LR rifle or pistol. When the competitor completes a stage of shooting, the team is given the coordinates of a nearby Geocache that they must go find. After finding the Geocache and the secret code phrase in the Geocache, they return to the Taft Sportsmen s Club Range and once confirmed are allowed to go on to the next shooting stage. The team that completes all four stages in the fastest time wins. There were 19 total teams this year with 14 teams in the Rookie Class and 5 teams in the Veteran Class. Local shooters and cachers Team Cache In, White Trash Out took first place in the Rookie Class and out of towners Worlds Collide took first place in the Veteran Class. If you missed out on this year s event, mark your calendars now for the Taft Shooter s Challenge 2015 scheduled to take place on Saturday November 28, Scenes from Taft Shooter s Challenge 2014.
