Nawrocki, the reigning conference player of the week, delivered his second game with 20 or more points this season and his team-leading third double-double (points-rebounds). Hopkins jumped out to a lead at the half, holding McDaniel to only 22.6 percent shooting from the field. A pair of three-pointers by the Green Terror to open the second half closed the lead to 10, at However, a 12-4 Hopkins run in the first six minutes of the period put the game out of reach. The Blue Jays would later raise their advantage to as much as 27, going up with 5:28 remaining. Hopkins finished the game shooting 54.4 percent (31-57) from the field, while the Green Terror made only 33.3 percent (20-60) of their field goals. The Blue Jays out-rebounded the Green Terror, 53-21, including 16 Hopkins offensive boards. Three other scorers reached double figures for Hopkins, including Matt Griffin with 15. Griffin was a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw stripe. Scouting the Red Devils Dickinson took down the league s other remaining undefeated team, Franklin & Marshall, with a win on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at the Mayser Center. The Red Devils claimed their second consecutive win in Lancaster by shooting 50 percent (24-48) from the field and knocking down 8-of-15 from behind the three-point arc. Matt Keys led the way for the Red Devils, scoring 24 points and pulling down eight rebounds. Keys leads Dickinson with 14.3 points per game this season. In seven games this season, Dickinson has only played the F&M game away from Carlisle. After Saturday s contest with the Blue Jays, the Red Devils will play six of their next seven on the road, beginning with a matchup against Division I Lafayette on Dec. 20. Last meeting Johns Hopkins guard T.J. Valerio hit a three-pointer with eight seconds remaining and Dickinson s Matt Keys misfired from three-point range at the buzzer as the Blue Jays picked up their seventh win in eight games with a victory over the host Red Devils on Jan 22, After the Red Devils gained a lead with 20 seconds left, Hopkins worked the ball to Valerio, who wasted little time launching what proved to be the game-winning three-pointer. Dickinson used a timeout to set up one final play, but Keys was off the mark and the Blue Jays picked up their third straight win in Carlisle. Matt Griffin scored a career-high 22 points in just 23 minutes to lead the way for the Blue Jays, who count three one-point wins in their last four games. Valerio contributed 11 points off the bench. Brad Litchfield had game-highs of 16 points and eight rebounds, while Keys added 12 points. 300 and counting Head coach Bill Nelson is entering his 20th season at Hopkins, sporting a (.626) record. Since 1919, Hopkins has played in 1,625 games. Nelson s tenure with the Blue Jays has spanned over 30 percent of the games that the program has played since its inception.
