2 Greetings Cajun Nation, As your Director of Athletics, I want to thank you for your support of Ragin Cajuns Athletics! As a member of the Ragin Cajuns Athletic Foundation (RCAF), you are investing in the lives of our 400 student-athletes across 16 sports who proudly wear the Vermilion and White. Your generous investment Message from the Director of Athletics provides essential support that allows our student-athletes to perform and compete at the highest levels. It is our goal and vision to become the preeminent program in the Sun Belt Conference while establishing national attention and success in all facets. Your investment in the RCAF has never been more important as we strive to position our sport programs to compete for and win championships, while succeeding in the classroom and community. Every dollar contributed will directly impact the academic, athletic, and social experience of all student-athletes. We have made great strides over the past years but we have so much more to accomplish! Our sights, moving forward, will be set on improving the areas of student-athlete development, facilities, recruiting, and growth of resources, while never compromising the health, safety, and well-being of our student-athletes. As we approach the upcoming year, we will work every day to prepare for the possibilities the possibility to win conference championships; the possibility to win national championships; the possibility to be a Top 25 program. For the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns, these achievements are attainable and your continued investment will be the catalyst! Please know it is an absolute honor and privilege to serve as your Director of Athletics. I thank you for everything you have done and will continue to do to grow and strengthen Ragin Cajuns Athletics. Our future is bright, and together we will pursue excellence in all we do while preparing Champions for Life. GEAUX CAJUNS! 4 ANNUAL FUND DONORS FROM /18 Tax information The Ragin Cajuns Athletic Foundation is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, as recognized by the Internal 3000 Revenue Service. Therefore, contributions to the RCAF are deductible for federal income tax purposes to the extent allowable by law Tax Law Changes ANNUAL FUND YEAR TO DATE M 2M 1M , , ANNUAL FUND DOLLARS FROM /18 2,165,947 2,166,913 1,647,774 1,248, , ,168,572 *2017/18 2,436,776 Prior to 2018, the Internal Revenue Service Code section 170(I) allowed for 80% of a donation paid for seating at an athletic event in an athletic stadium of an institution of higher learning to be considered a charitable contribution. Under the new federal tax law that took effect January 1, 2018, the deductibility of these donations for priority seating (i.e. ticket-related giving) is no longer allowed. The new law addresses benefits, other than priority seating, that a donor may receive as a result of a gift. The donor may only deduct the amount of a gift that is more than the value of other benefits received. Car decals, newsletters, and other token items do not reduce the amount eligible for tax deduction purposes. Other goods or services a donor receives in consideration for contribution could qualify for certain deductions. Substantiation Requirements As required by the Internal Revenue Service, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Foundation will furnish donors with receipts for contributions. Donors should retain the receipts for federal tax purposes. Tax Law *2017/18 For more information please contact the RCAF office at or rcaf@louisiana.edu. Please consult your tax advisor to determine what amount of your contribution is eligible for tax deduction purposes. P 5 *Contribution data calculated from July 1, 2017-June 30th, 2018 P 6
