3 SKY-LIGHTS Mystical Performance The Chicago Sky s Elena Delle Donne has made it a habit of playing well and winning against the Washington Mystics. In her rookie campaign Delle Donne played in four games against the Mystics. Over these four games she averaged 19.0 PPG, 5.5 RPG while shooting 90.6% from the free throw line. These performances resulted in the Sky winning three games and losing one. In 2014, Delle Donne was limited to two games against the Mystics, but she continued to put up big numbers. She averaged 19.5 PPG, shooting 66.7% from the field, 66.7% from the three-point line, and 87.5% from the charity stripe in two victories. Delle Donne s 2015 MVP season saw her improve upon her already impressive stat lines against the Mystics, coming away with four wins in five games. She averaged 19.8 PPG, 8.4 RPG, 2.0 BPG, and shot a red-hot 94.0% from the free throw line. Delle Donne will look to continue her dominant play. Nice to UNC You It will be a college reunion of sorts for Sky forward Jessica Breland, who will square off with two former University of North Carolina teammates in Mystics veterans Ivory Latta and Tierra Ruffin-Pratt. Breland was just a freshman in college when she and sharpshooter Latta teamed up to lead the Tar Heels to a 34-3 record and an NCAA Final Four. Three years later, Breland rounded out her college campaign playing alongside Ruffin-Pratt during the season, where the duo went on their way to the NCAA tournament. Now, established WNBA talents, the three former Tar heels will continue to make their alma-mater proud as they square off at the professional level. Leaning on their Veterans The Chicago Sky enter the 2016 campaign with plenty of experience under their belts. This year s team features the oldest average age in the Eastern Conference at 27 years, and the third oldest in the WNBA. Erika de Souza and Cappie Pondexter both enter their eleventh season, while teammates Allie Quigley and Tamara Young enter their eighth and ninth seasons, respectively. The Sky will look to their veteran lineup to carry the workload this season. The Washington Mystics come into this tilt with an average roster age of years. This leaves the Mystics smack in the middle of the WNBA s age rankings. They rank as the third youngest in the Eastern Conference and fifth overall in the WNBA. The Mystics feature only one player over the age of 30, and a total of 10 players who are entering their fourth or earlier season of play in the WNBA. This will be a matchup of experience versus youth. Score-let Knights Tonight s contest will feature a matchup between two of the greatest scorers to ever come out of Rutgers University, in Sky veteran Cappie Pondexter and Mystic rookie Kahleah Copper. Copper, The 7th overall pick of the 2016 WNBA draft, was a special player during her college career with the Scarlet Knights ( ), finishing with 1,872 career points, 3rd on the Rutgers all-time leading scorers list behind Sue Wicks (2,655 points from ) and Pondexter (2,211 from ). Copper is averaging six points and four rebounds per game for her rookie season while Pondexter, continues her excellent play, averaging 12.6 points per game, and heads into the game with 5,975 career points. Climbing the Leaderboard Two Sky players will continue to move their way up WNBA all-time leaderboards this year. With her four boards during the 5/24 contest against the Sparks, Center Erika De Souza passed Tammy Sutton Brown for 19th in WNBA history for career rebounds with 2,010, while guard Cappie Pondexter (5,975) is just 25 points from becoming the seventh player in WNBA history to reach 6,000 points. In terms of the Sky team leaderboard, Elena Delle Donne is rapidly climbing in multiple categories. Currently, she is fifth in points with 1,665. Delle Donne (150) is two blocks away from passing Candice Dupree (152) for second-most in team history. Finally, Delle Donne (470) is on pace to pass Epiphanny Prince (485) for second-most free throws made in Sky history. Allie Quigley (983) is 17 points away from crossing the 1,000 point threshold WNBA GM Survey WNBA.com polled the league s general managers to find out what they think about the teams, players, and coaches in the league. Elena Delle Donne s name appeared a whopping seven times. She finished first in voting for MVP, best forward, best at getting her own shot, most dangerous in the open floor, and best pure shooter, best post moves, player you would want taking a shot with the game on the line, and the player who forces opposing coaches to make adjustments. Courtney Vandersloot appeared twice, garnering a second place finish for the player who would make the best head coach, and finishing third in voting for best passer. Finally, rookie Imani Boyette finished third in voting for sleeper rookie most likely to be a success.

4 SKY-LIGHTS Chatman s Century Mark Sky Head Coach and General Manager Pokey Chatman is nine wins away from 100 in her coaching career. Chatman would be the 13th coach in WNBA history to reach the 100 wins plateau, and the seventh currently active coach to reach the mark. Lights, Tamera, Action Sky guard Tamera Young played her 200th career game with the team on May 29 against Dallas. Young is the team s all-time leader in games played, seasons played, total rebounds, minutes played, and field goals made. Block Party The Sky recorded the second-most blocks (222) in the WNBA in the 2015 season, trailing only the Phoenix Mercury (234). The third place Washington Mystics had 163 blocks. Elena Delle Donne led the Sky with a career-high 63 blocks. So far this season, the Sky currently tied with the Atlanta Dream for the WNBA lead with 36 blocks. The Chicago Sky Select... The Sky welcomes a new player from the 2016 WNBA Draft in Imani Boyette (University of Texas). Boyette, daughter of former WNBA player Pam McGee, is the second tallest player in the WNBA at 6-foot-7, and was one of the most prolific shot blockers and rebounders in Texas history. All Around Me Are Familiar Faces The Sky leads the WNBA in returning players from 2015 with 11. First-round pick Imani Boyette is the only new addition to the Sky s 2016 roster. Team USA Elena Delle Donne will represent the United States this summer in Brazil. This year will be Delle Donne s first time participating with the USA Women s National Basketball Team in the Olympics. In October 2015, Delle Donne joined the 11-member team on its European Tour in which the USA went undefeated against top teams in Europe. Eyes On The Sky As part of a multi-year partnership with Weigel Broadcasting Company, The U Too will broadcast 22 Chicago Sky games this season. The U Too can be seen on WCIU-TV 26.2, Xfinity , RCN 35, and WOW 107.
