Participation Requirements Earn points from four (4) Circuit Tournaments plus the State 3D/Circuit#8 (*#8 tournament is required) Example: Competitor participates in Five (5) Circuit Tournaments and the required State 3D/Circuit #7. The tournament earning the lowest points from the first 5 Circuit Tournaments will be dropped. Note: Circuit Shooters are not required to join the SCAA. SCAA 3D Champions must be a current SCAA member. A Circuit member has the option of participating in the guest class if he/she chooses not to join. Scores will transfer over for points. Points for 3D Circuit Competition are awarded using the following formula: 50 pts for tournament participation 1 pt for each competitor you beat also participating in the 3D circuit tournament of the same class 5 pts for 1 st place, 3 pts for 2 nd place 1pt for 3 rd place For example There are 20 people competing in the Bow Novice Class at a 3D circuit tournament. Of those 20, only 11 are signed up for the 3D circuit championship. Your points earned will be based on where you finished compared to the 11 shooters and not the entire field of 20 competitors. Examples: Competitor places 3 rd in a 15 person class: 50 pts for participation + 1 for 3 rd place + 12pts for shooters beaten = 63 earned for that tournament
3 Competitor places 2 nd in a 5 person class: 50 pts for participation + 3 (2 nd place) + 3 shooters beaten = 56 earned for that tournament Competitor places 1 st in a 10 person class: 50 pts for participation + 5 (1 st place) + 9 shooters beaten = 64 earned for that tournament
4 Age Divisions for each Style Adult years old High School 9-12 grades (18 yrs old max) NASP High School Grades 9-12 Senior years old Middle School 6-8 grades NASP Middle School Grades 6-8 Silver Senior years old Elementary 3-5 grades NASP Elementary School Grades 4-5 Master Senior 70 plus years old Pee Wee 7 years old and younger Age changes during the year... If you will change age classes during the shooting year; then you need to start the year in the higher age class. It does not matter when your birthday falls; unless it is after all of the scheduled shoots. In other words, if you are 11yrs old at the beginning of the season and your 12th birthday is in July; then you must start the season out as a middle school class or the points gained as an elementary class will not count towards the SOY (Shooter of the Year) points because that young person would be a middle school age at the end of the season. If that 11 year old has a birthday in September then he would shoot the whole year as an elementary class shooter and all his/her points would go to Shooter Of the Year.
