1 Welcome to the Vail Valley Tip Off! We hope you enjoy your visit to Eagle and Gypsum. During the tournament weekend there are several opportunities for additional fun. Saturday is Gypsum Daze with kids activities, food booths, games, a great concert and more. During the tournament we are pleased to offer this special value to all MAYB teams, coaches, parents and siblings: visit the outdoor Eagle Pool and you ll have free entry with your tournament wrist band (usually $4.50 for kids, $5 for adults). The pool features a zero-depth area, lap lanes, diving area, vortex and giant slide. Concessions, lockers and towels are available. Take Capitol St. south toward Sylvan Lake. Turn left on Bull Pasture Rd. (at the stop sign); you ll see the pool and ice rink on your left don t take the road to Sylvan Lake, just stay on Bull Pasture Rd. Other local attractions include: Sylvan Lake (USFS), Beaver Creek Family Area, rafting and/or fishing with local guides and outfitters, golf at Eagle Ranch or Cotton Ranch golf courses (public). MAYB TOURNAMENT RULES: You are familiar with the MAYB tournament rules, (running clock, four time-outs, etc. However, at the Vail Valley Tip Off we are serious about your enjoyment. We tolerate no foul language or disruptive behavior. Coaches, officials and other parents are to be treated with respect and courtesy. Violations of these policies are cause for immediate ejection from the gym site. Please make this an enjoyable experience for your kids and others. Reminder: you must provide a scorekeeper or timekeeper for each game. Tournament Information: Headquarters for the tournament is the Eagle Valley Middle School. Results from all divisions will be posted at your game sites, in most cases you will play at only one location. Tournament supervisors are available at all sites, they will wear VVTO shirts. Tournament director is Steve Russell, (970) (Cell phone). Gate Admission: Youth $5/weekend Adults: $10/weekend: includes souvenir wrist band! (Admission includes free admission to Eagle Pool during the weekend!) Tournament T-shirts: custom Vail Valley Tip Off t-shirts are available. (Sample is at the last page of the schedules.) 2 Directions to Game Sites EVMS 1, 2, 3: Eagle Valley Middle School, 3 rd Street, Eagle. I-70 to Eagle exit (MM 147), go south over the river. At the roundabout, go right (west) one block to Capitol. Go left (south) 3 blocks to 3 rd street, take a left on 3 rd, go to the top of the hill to the middle school. EVHS 1, 2: Eagle Valley High School. From Eagle, take Hwy 6 west to Gypsum (about 5 miles). The high school is on the left side (south) of the road. Gym is to your left as you face the school. If you go directly on I-70, take the Gypsum exit, go south until you reach the stoplight. You will see the high school on the southeast corner of the intersection. Gyms are on the east side of the high school. EPIR 1,2: Eagle Pool and Rink. Take the Eagle exit from I-70, (MM 147), go south across the river to the roundabout. At the roundabout, go right on Hwy 6, 1 block to Capitol Street. Go left, (south), on Capitol. Continue on Capitol St. south toward Sylvan Lake. Turn on Bull Pasture Rd. (at the stop sign); you ll see the pool and ice rink on your left. Games are played on new sport court floors!! EPIR phone is Eagle is 7 miles from Gypsum. Edwards is approximately 17 miles from Eagle and 10 miles from Avon. If you are staying in Summit County (Keystone, Dillon, etc.) it is approximately 1 hour to Eagle. Glenwood Springs is about 25 minutes to Gypsum, 30 minutes to Eagle. Read the schedules closely to see if you are playing at EVMS (middle school) or EVHS (high school), they are in different towns.
