Qualification for regional competition is based on a team's and an all around competitor's six best regular-season-meet scores, of which three must be from away meets. To obtain the regional qualifying score (RQS), the high score is eliminated and the remaining five scores are averaged. The transition from Total Season Average to RQS proved an asset for the Pac-10, as WASHINGTON moved up to No. 11 in the latest poll. ARIZONA STATE recorded its second dual meet victory of the season last weekend, upsetting Pac-10 foe WASHING- TON. The win required a season-high team score and multiple career performances. Senior Beate Jones scored a season-high , finishing second in all around competition. STANFORD (14-0) remains the lone undefeated program in the Pac-10. The No. 2 Cardinal extended its streak by defeating ARIZONA for the 14th consecutive time. In its first home meet in six weeks, UCLA recorded the Conference s first score of 197. The Bruins season-high score of was easily enough to defeat then No. 25 North Carolina State. The end of the Conference dual meet schedule is quickly approaching as Arizona State wraps up Pac-10 dual competition when it heads to Palo Alto, Calif., to compete against undefeated Stanford. Oregon State host the 31st annual Salbasgeon Suites Invitational on Friday, Feb. 25 at 7 pm. The Beavers will face Pac-10 opponent Washington, as well as San Jose State and UC Davis. UCLA remains at home for a tri-meet against No. 12 Denver and Minnesota on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 2 pm. The Wildcats started the dual meet with a strong showing on vault, led by SO Aubree Cristello who posted the team high score of to tie for second place. Behind her was JR Deanna Graham and SO Mykle Douglass with a score of 9.800, as they tied for third place. Douglass s mark on vault was a career-high score. Despite facing a deficit of 1.00 going into the final rotation, Arizona fought hard on floor posting a team total of and closed the gap to only SR Miranda Russell had a team-high score of 9.850, taking second place overall. Cristello and Graham tied for third with a score of The Wildcats head to Provo, Utah to take on BYU Saturday Feb. 26 at 7 pm. ARIZONA STATE: Arizona State recorded its third win of the season with a upset victory against the Washington Huskies to The Sun Devils began the meet on vault, as SR Brittany Schuett performed her season vault debut hitting an almost perfect score of Arizona State compiled a season-high team score of on vault, to take the early lead over the Huskies. Finishing the competition on floor, the Sun Devils nailed their routines to clinch the win. The Gym Devils hit a season-high floor total of as each gymnast posted scores above the 9.8 mark. CALIFORNIA: California was topped by UC Davis in a dual meet on the road. OREGON STATE: Oregon State returns to action this week when the Beavers host the 31st annual Salbasgeon Suites Invitational Friday at 7 pm. Oregon State will face Washington (7-7), which is ranked No. 11 in the nation, as well as San Jose State (9-3) and UC Davis (8-3). Friday's meet will mark the second time the Beavers have met the Huskies this year. Four of the Beaver s lineups are ranked in this week's top 10. Oregon State is ranked eighth on vault ( RQS), second on the uneven bars (49.225), sixth on the balance beam (48.860) and seventh on the floor exercise (48.990). In addition, several OSU gymnasts are ranked among the top 25 in the nation: JR Leslie Mak is tied for second on the beam (9.870), is tied for fifth on the bars (9.870) and is seventh in the all-around (39.245). JR Olivia Vivian is No. 2 in the country on the bars (9.885). SO Kelsi Blalock is tied for 24th on the vault (9.840) and SO Makayla Stambaugh is tied for 25th on the bars (9.825). STANFORD: Stanford improved upon its best-ever start by beating Pac-10 foe Arizona, last week. SO Nicole Dayton and FR Kristina Vaculik earned their first collegiate victories to highlight Stanford's performance as the Cardinal extended its season-opening winning streak to 14 straight. JR Alyssa Brown shared first place honors on vault earning a score of Brown has been one of the Cardinal's steadiest performers all season, scoring at least 9.85 on every bars routine and on every vault this season. 4 Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- WASHINGTON junior Ruby Engreitz has been awarded Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week, for the week of Feb Commissioner Larry Scott announced today. Ruby Engreitz, a junior from Kirkland, Wash., had her best career meet as a Husky, posting careerbest marks on vault, beam and all-around competition. Engreitz s career-best score of on vault earned a tie for second place, as the Huskies posted a season-high score of in the event. Engreitz earned a first place finish on bars with a score of 9.875, posting her fourth title in the event this season. In addition, Engreitz won the all-around with a career-high , placed second on the beam with a score of 9.825, and finished fourth on floor with a This is Engreitz s first Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week honor and fifth in Huskies history. Pac-10 Special Performer of the Week WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- UCLA junior Tauny Frattone has been awarded Pac-10 Special Performance of the Week, for the week of Feb , Commissioner Larry Scott announced today. Junior Tauny Frattone, hailing from Lake Forest, Calif., tied a career-high on vault with a 9.95, sticking her Yurchenko half-on, piked front half-off vault for her fourth consecutive vault victory. Frattone s score led the way for a Bruin season-high team score of 49.4 on vault. Frattone is averaging a teambest on vault this year and ranks third amongst Conference competition. She has scored 9.8 or better on the event in 18 consecutive meets and in 22 of 24 career meets. In addition, Frattone scored a career-high 9.85 on beam (4th place) to help the Bruins achieve a season-high score of 49.4 on the event, and her leadoff score of 9.8 on floor (8th place) helped lead the way to another seasonhigh of The Bruins team total of is a season-high and the highest of any team in the Pac-10 this season.
