1 GAME 27 #14/14 Miami Hurricanes February 24, 2019 Miami, Fla. Watsco Center (7,972) Noles seek 7th straight road win at Miami GAME COVERAGE TV/LIVE STREAM ESPN2 PBP: Pam Ward Analyst: Carolyn Peck 22/20 FLORIDA STATE SEMINOLES Sunshine State rivals Florida State (21-5, 9-4) and Miami (22-6, 10-3) continue jockeying for their respective spots in the ACC standings as the two programs meet for the 60th time on Sunday at the Watsco Center. The Seminoles have won their last nine regular-season meetings with the Hurricanes, including a win in Tallahassee this year on Jan. 31. The first meeting between FSU and Miami this season was headlined by redshirt junior forward Kiah Gillespie s clutch performance. The Meriden, Conn., native totaled 20 points, including 18 in the second half, and had her own 8-0 run when Miami cut its deficit to with 6:52 left in the game that sparked the crucial victory. Florida State owns a six-game win streak over Miami on the road, including a win last year that featured a much different Seminole squad compared to this year s young group. The Seminoles last lost to the Hurricanes in Miami on Feb. 19, 2012, and own a 15-6 record all-time on the road vs. their in-state conference rival. A win over Miami would give Florida State double-digit ACC wins for the fifth consecutive year. FSU began the season with the eighth-youngest team in the country by average age (19.4 years old), was picked to finish seventh and eighth in the ACC (lowest projection since 2004), needed to replenish all five starters from a season ago for the first time ever under Head Coach Sue Semrau, and had a roster that included no seniors and 54.5 percent freshmen and redshirt freshmen (54.5%). Since 2013, Florida State is a combined 20-4 (.833) against its two chief rivals in Florida (5-1) and Miami (15-3).
