Arizona Chicago Cardinals Bears Sunday, October 11, 2015 Sunday, August 20, 2005 Game 5 Post Game Quotes Postgame Quotes Bears Head Coach John Fox OPENING STATEMENT: Alright, just to update on the injury report, the three guys that left the game did not return. I don t have any updates. Shea McClellin left with a knee injury, Terrance Mitchell left with a hamstring injury, Jacquizz Rodgers with an elbow injury. All three did not return. Any questions? What was your message to the group after the game? It was a very gutsy, good footballcharacter victory. As we talked at halftime, it wasn t exactly smooth I think it was 17-3 at that point. Not that we played poorly, we just didn t play as well as we could, not as hard and as tough as we could. I thought we turned that up in the second half. How did the offense find the groove? I think we have a lot of new guys out there, I don t know if people actually realize some of the numbers we ve been through including some of the guys that had to step in. we had some pretty gutsy performances the last couple of weeks including our quarterback. Even our kicker the all-time Bears scoring record today he did our player talk last night. Even he s been a great inspiration. It was fun to see guys grow. This is about playing smarter, tougher, longer than your opponent. I thought we did pretty good at that today. What impressed you most about Jay Cutler s performance the last couple of drives? Really, kind of more of the same. Some of it doesn t go as smoothly as you want or who you are or what you do, but as long as you keep battling, staying aggressive, not quitting, all the things you kind of preach not just in football, but in life. He came through it, he s done it two weeks in a row. I m proud of him and proud of the whole football team. What does it say about Jay Cutler that he s able to lead a comeback like this? It s a tribute to everybody in that locker room. The coaches, the players, the staff. Our poor training staff, they ve almost run out of room in the training room. It s what s cool about doing this for a living - you watch a lot of people work hard for something that s a common goal. To see it executed on a weekly basis, it beats the alternative. Are you seeing a confidence develop that mattered today? Well, I think what you see is people work really, really hard. When you don t get rewarded for it or you don t win, which is kind of the reward, it s kind of, what came first, the chicken or the egg? I would say yes, you know, winning is contagious just like losing is. I d rather experience the win. How do you explain the defensive effort today? I think they ve shown steady improvement since we started the season. You know, we had some unusual stuff happened today. We lose Shea McClellin on defense. He leaves the game. Shea McClellin, you know, we ve got LaRoy Reynolds, I don t know, he s been here 10 days but he s in there with the starting defense. They go across the board, whether it was the center, whether it was the quarterback, whether it s the wide receiver position, the offensive line, we ve had a long list. That s what makes it a little bit more gratifying. Pernell McPhee has an ability to uplift his teammates, did you sense any kind of shift after that blocked field goal? Yeah, I mean, there s all kinds of ebbs and flows in games and shifts in momentum so that was, yeah, a big one that stands out. I think some third down conversions that, along the way, were kind of big with the offense, and third down stops that

were kind of big in that fourth quarter. Yeah I think, you know, we won the fourth quarter 15- nothing, and that s how we won the game. What are your thoughts on what Marquess Wilson did today? I think, you know, just the confidence, some of the big moments and spots he was in a week ago against the Raiders, you could see that kind of level carry over in practice this week. Guys talk about, it s the swagger, that wasn t really a line when I was growing up, I ve kind of learned that word. But, you can see that confidence, that swagger, just that believe in themselves. You know, that s contagious. That s hard for people to believe, if you don t believe in yourself, to see that step up is pretty cool. What went into the decision to look at Marc Mariani stretching over the goal line? Well, we thought it was kind of like the time that punt hit that guy s legs.

Arizona Chicago Cardinals Bears Sunday, October 11, 2015 Sunday, August 20, 2005 Game 5 Post Game Quotes Postgame Player Quotes Bears QB Jay Cutler What was the different in the fourth quarter when you guys played so lousy up to that point: We just knew we needed to make some plays and get the third downs. The first half we didn t play so well defensively they kept us in the game all game. I am really proud of the guys up front, we were down in numbers on the outside and those guys fought all game to give us a shot. On the final touchdown to Matt Forte, what was the design of the play there and how much of it was impacted with the snap? I knew we had a shot, it was man to man and I was just waiting to see if he could get open and he did. I knew where I was going with the ball it s just that I had to get in and get it up to him. I made a decent throw, and he did the rest. What about the play with Marquess Wilson? They blitzed us, and they were hot playing man to man. We constantly worked on the route throughout the week. It came down to going out there and preforming, and he did it. What does it say about the offense that you were able to come back from being down? It says a lot. I have a lot of pride in that offensive huddle and those guys fought hard. I wasn t very happy with how I played in the first half and that was a hard position to go into the fourth quarter. But I am super proud of those guys. You had some missed throws earlier but you were right on target at the end. Is your focus just that much better in those kinds of desperation moments or those drives at the end? I knew we needed to make some plays in the fourth quarter. I knew that all I needed to do was get the ball out to them and they will do most of the hard work. So a lot of it depends on them. How would you describe working with three receivers that don t have a ton of experience and you don t have a ton of experience working with them? I need to trust them and I think that is one of the biggest things to just trust them and know that they are going to be in the right spot on the right play. I think they did a good job all week. There are going to be some bumps in the road like usual with a young player, but I know that they are doing everything they can to do the right thing, be in the right spot, and try to make it playable. Obviously this is the second time a team has been able to come back on, is there anything that you saw from the Denver game, specifically against s defense that made you think they would be vulnerable in the fourth quarter? I think a lot of it was our defense keeping the game plan. We weren t in it until pretty late, so we put the defense in a bad spot. But they gave us good field position a few times, and without that, we wouldn t have had a shot. What was that huddle like on the final snap because you have a lot of inexperienced guys? You have been in these situations before but trying to keep them on the same page and get the ball moving, how do you do that? I try not to huddle. I try to keep them moving. Just to keep them going, going, going. That s why I m always waving lets go, go, go, just to keep them in the moment so they can stop and think hey, what are we doing? We ve got 30 seconds left to play. So just trying to keep them going. I know that we were getting a little

run down, a little tired out there, but I think I yell at them enough during the week about conditioning, that they are probably about where they needed to be. What about the sack to fumble and touchdown, how difficult was that to overcome? Especially with Hroniss [Grasu] being inexperienced. Oh I thought he did a phenomenal job especially with this being one of the toughest places to play. With a rookie center going against a pretty good nose guard and a defense that s going to bring some pressure, he did a great job. I just need to hang onto that ball and to avoid the safety. You kid about it with the rookie center and receivers but you say you yell at them during the week. Do you find yourself being more of an assistant coach almost during the week of preparation for games like this? Well, I think Adam (Gase) and Mike (Groh) both put a lot of trust in the quarterbacks just to help coach these guys up. Coaches can only go so far, at some point you ve got to tune them out and players need to take some ownership. Did you look around the stadium at all in the fourth quarter, when it was half empty and 2/3 of who was left were Bears fans? Everywhere we go there are fans. Hotels are filed with them, our stadium is filled with them, so it is a pleasant sight to see. Being able to hear a Bears chant on the road at the end of the game, says a lot about our fans. When you guys were 0-3 you guys could sense that things were going in the right direction, how important is it to gut out those wins the last two weeks? It s huge. To go 0-3 and then win two and winning one at the end of the fourth quarter, it says a lot about our team. It gives us some confidence. If we were to lose this game, at the end of the year its just another L you can t really learn from it. To get ourselves back two wins, we are looking for another one. You have credited a lot of your teammates with the success today, how much personal pride is there for you though in this game that you came back and lead two touchdown drives at the end? I feed off those guys. Honestly, I have a lot of pride but I didn t really feel good about the first half but that quarterback position you have to count on those guys and you have to count on everyone to do their job. The receiver had to do their job, I have the easy part, just throw it to them, and they are the ones working their tails off. Marquess specifically, where has he come along in big moments these last few weeks. He has kind of grown up, he s kind of had to. He doesn t have a choice he s got to make plays, we kind of holler at him during the week, and Saturday have to love on him a little bit getting ready for Sunday, but he s reacting. He is making plays for us and making big time catches for us.

Arizona Chicago Cardinals Bears Sunday, October 11, 2015 Sunday, August 20, 2005 Game 5 Post Game Quotes Postgame Player Quotes Bears Players RB MATT FORTE On the final touchdown, with the route you were running, what coverage did you see on that play. It was obviously man-to-man. They kind of followed me around the whole game. It was something we saw early in the game, and we just hadn t called it yet. He came up to the line and tried to press things. So, I ran around him. Jay put the ball only where I could get it. He made a great throw and I went up and got it. I just wanted to hold onto it. Did Jay Cutler after the play tell you he had a bobbled snap? I didn t see it and he didn t tell me. But, I m glad he got the ball off. What was the big difference with the offense? You were quiet until the fourth quarter and then you had those two huge drives. We started off struggling. Obviously, we gave up points, as an offense, to them. They got a touchdown out of that one snap. That is something we ve got to eliminate. At first, we struggled running the ball. They were getting penetration. In the second half, we mixed it up a bit. The passing game opened up. It worked a little bit. Then, our two minute offense took over at the end. It s just a testament to the coaches. We practice that situation all the time during the week so that it translates over to the game. The defense gave you all a chance to win it in the fourth quarter. Obviously, that s important. Can you also talk about special teams with the blocked field goal and what kind of a game changer that is? That s defense too. Pernell [McPhee] blocked the kick. That just shows the heart that we have on defense and the fight they have. It would have been really easy for him to say, it s fourth down and kick the field goal. He could have taken that play off, but he didn t. He blocked the field goal, which allowed us to get back into the game. WR MARQUESS WILSON You did a pretty good imitation of Alshon Jeffery out there: We re all receivers. I m not going to take anything away from my guy. We re expected to make those plays. I don t think they were his spectacular catches. But, they were just catches. What do you say about Jay Cutler and how he engineered the final three minutes of the game? Great guy. Great leader. He s the type of guy that never gives up. He s battling through some things and he s just able to keep this offense balanced whether we go three and out for a few drives or we come back and put some points on the board. He s that kind of guy that going to make us fight. The way you won last week, what did that do for you guys coming down the stretch in this game? It gave us confidence. When they gave us the ball back with three minutes left, we knew we could do what we did last week. That s the confidence we have. How many people can make the throw that Jay Cutler threw to you for the touchdown? That was an amazing throw. He put it exactly where it needed to be right on the money. I don t think I ve ever seen something like that. He threw that before I even got out of my break. It was just a matter if the ball was going to get there or not. But, it was a phenomenal throw.

On the final touchdown: Just execution. We practice those kinds of plays all the time. We executed it. It got him open and we scored. G MATT SLAUSON On the last play of the game: They switched it up for the last play and I whiffed. Jay [Cutler] just put up a fade away jumper it was just a dime. That guy really is amazing. He hung in there through miscommunication. There were a lot of new guys in there today. He got hit a lot. But, he is just a true pro. So many people have been wondering about the character of this team. Are you guys still trying to find an identity because it seems that Jay is kind of showing you the way? Absolutely. He is the one that makes it all work. Jay is the definition of resiliency. Right now, that is our identity. We are a resilient team that s going to keep on fighting until the end. You ve played with Jay for a few years. Is this the best you ve seen him locked into an offense? Yes. He is super confident. His composure throughout the game is just great. Upfront our communication was not always crisp. This is a loud place and we ve got some new guys in there. gave us a couple of new wrinkles stunt wise. The composure through all of that was just amazing. Does this game also say something about the defense? It looked like the defense hung in there to give the offense a chance, even when the offense wasn t working that well. Absolutely. The defense gave us a chance all day. I thought they played great. C HRONISS GRASU On the game winning drive: Nothing needs to be said, we knew what we had to do to get the job done. It was a hell of a performance by the defense to get us the ball back. When did you find out you were going to start? Just before the game, I had a good feeling about it. Even when I was inactive the last couple of weeks, I was preparing like I was playing. This game I was actually right. These guys, the O-line, the whole offense accepted me. They brought me in with open arms and they really made me feel comfortable. When we are out there, there is no panic for any of us. These guys make my job so much easier by communicating well. What was going through your mind on the final touchdown play? The only thing I was thinking of was first, snap the ball. Get it back there and then cover up (Dontari) Poe. He is a really good football player. All day he was bringing it every single play. We had good protection, Jay (Cutler) had an unbelievable throw and (Matt Forte) had an unbelievable catch. I am so lucky to be blessed to be a part of that for the first game of my career. DL JARVIS JENKINS How do you think Christian Jones did calling plays after Shea McClellin left the game with injury? He did real good. Even when Shae is in there, Christian is a really good communicator. He got the calls out and we got lined up. He did pretty good. Do you have a sense of accomplishment after stringing together multiple good defensive games? At the beginning of the season we talked about playing a good first half, but we need to put a complete game together. In the first half, we didn't play too well. We came in and they scored the first touchdown. We blocked one field goal but they got another. The main thing

was coming out and finishing the second half like we did the first half. We actually had a better second half. That's all about defense being a part of the whole team. The defense needs to give the offense opportunities. The offense had some struggles, but we kept giving them the ball and they got their mojo back. They started progressing and it paid off in the end. On the defensive play after Jamaal Charles was injured: When they lost Charles they tried to run the same plays but it was not as successful. To their credit, they did have some good runs but the main thing was, we had to stop the run if we were going to be successful. LB LAROY REYNOLDS What vibe do you get from the good performances of the defense this year? Everyone does their job. You have a defensive front that is going to dominate and stop the run. You have defensive backs that are going to play aggressively. Everyone does their job and it's all about executing. That is what we are starting to do and we are just going to keep getting better. How was your adrenaline when you came onto the field for the first time? I think I just had to calm my world and really lock in on what I had to do. I had to understand I just had to do my job. I didn't have to go out there and make a million tackles and do everything. I just had to do my job, line up and do what the coach called. The guys motivated me and said they had my back. It helped me and it gave me that extra edge to not get out of whack with the calls and just line up. What was it like to step into the lineup with not much preparation as a starter? I think Coach Vic (Fangio), our defensive coordinator, he has done a great job of calling the right calls. He knows the guys that are in are going to be able to execute. That is what he is doing with the defense. When Shae (McClellin) went down, unfortunately, he just had to call the right calls. That's what he was doing for the rest of the game. It really helped us to play fast. What was the vibe of the team when Shae McClellin went down with injury? Just stepping in, a lot of the guys told me to just take advantage of the opportunities, as far as, knowing what I had to do and executing. Just do my job. Like I said earlier, I didn't have to do much. I just had to step in and do my job. I could go to the sideline and get help from my guys, (Lamin) Barrow and coach, on what the offense was doing and we were able to go out there and execute.

Arizona Chicago Cardinals Bears Sunday, October 11, 2015 Sunday, August 20, 2005 Game 5 Post Game Quotes Postgame Quotes Head Coach Andy Reid OPENING STATEMENT: Alright, as far as injuries go, Jamaal Charles looks, preliminary reports, it probably looks more like a torn ACL than anything. He ll have an MRI on it tomorrow and we ll see how that goes. Bottom line of the game was we ve got to make plays, whether it s play-callers and/or the players, we ve got to do a better job there. Given opportunities. The blocked field goal, I thought, was a changing point in momentum. You ve got to shut that down at that time and we ve got to do better in that area. There are some things we can definitely learn from this and get better from. Time is yours. Did the injury to Jamaal Charles take some life out of you guys? People saw the whole time what was going on. They had a pretty good idea on the field what was going on. I think it was more of a non-contact type thing, but again, those type of things you can t come back and have a blocked field goal in that momentum swing. If it does, for that moment, then you ve got to change it, and we were never really able to do that. What kind of message do you have for your team? Yeah, well, I m kind of giving you the same thing here, what s the truth? I think that s the important part. You re put in a situation like this and somewhere, you ve got to make plays. We didn t do that the second half, and things were going relatively smooth the first half. The second half, you got to finish off the team. That s what s real. We do that, and we re a pretty good football team. You don t do that, then you become average. Will Charcandrick West be the featured guy or do you split it up between he and Knile Davis? Yeah, we ll end up using both. I m not saying who the feature guy is or not the feature guy, but we need both of them. Both their games are different. We ll just see how that goes. You saw both of them played today so we ll go back to the drawing board on that and get it right. What could you tell about the pass interference on Marcus Peters from the replay? I didn t agree with it, but that s hindsight. It s over. Can t do anything about it. I thought, if anything, it was a push off the other way. How close were you to challenging an interception with Marcus Peters? I mean, I was told it wasn t from the people upstairs. What led to the decision to kick the ball 66 yards with two seconds left in the game? I mean, your odds are for both. He s made those in practice, so we gave him a chance and it was a long shot either way. Would have been nice if we had that one that they called back on us there. Would have been an easier shot. On the kick return taking several seconds: Yeah that s, again, one of those that go either way. You could take it in the backfield there or run it out. You re shooting for a field goal. He s a pretty explosive guy, so the odds for both are kind of equal. Did take a little longer than he anticipated there. You could go either way. You could take the touchback and then try to take shots or your try to run it out with an explosive player. It sits right on the border, you could go either way with it.

Arizona Chicago Cardinals Bears Sunday, October 11, 2015 Sunday, August 20, 2005 Game 5 Post Game Quotes Postgame Player Quotes QB Alex Smith What does it do to an offense when you lose a guy like Jamaal (Charles)? Yes, it is tough. Jamaal means a lot both on the field and in the locker room no question. It is tough. You know, when you are in the middle of a game, you don t know what happened still don t. You are just trying to move on and finish it off. You know, trying to get it done. Next man up and find a way. Is it easier said than done? With the type of player that he is, he s involved in so much always on the field. So, yeah, certainly from that case. You know he is not in and not available that weapon, that matchup is not there. From that perspective, you re very aware. Is it easy to say that is where the momentum changed in the ballgame? Yeah, I mean I certainly would agree with you there. I feel like we came out the second half and were rolling; marched right down the field, get inside the 10. You know, from there production quit. I don t know if that was it or what. Offensively, we went into a shell there for a little while, you know, and just didn t get anything done. Had some decent field position, really had a chance to really put that game away with some first downs and just three and out, three and out. It didn t help the defense at all. Looking ahead a little bit what do you know about Charcandrick West? You haven t played a whole lot with him. Yeah, but feel good about him. He was here all last year and then this preseason. I really feel like he has come along. It s going to be a lot of guys, not just Charcandrick and Knile (Davis). It s going to be all of us as an offense. Certainly, we re going to have to pick it up. Do you see a better player now then when he (Charcandrick West) was trying to make the team last year? Oh, absolutely absolutely without a question. I think just the maturing, the growing up, knowing the offense and all of the little things of being a running back. There are a lot of things that go into that. I mean you ve got to know the running game, you ve got to know the pass game and you ve got to know protection, so a lot on young running backs plates. It takes time. Can you take us through that last drive? Yeah, we had two timeouts. You knew you could throw the ball in bounds and you are just trying to give us a chance. You didn t know what to expect with the first one to take a timeout. You know, there are six seconds left it s tight. We still had the timeout, but I felt like the game was the boundary throw and tried to hit it. It still would have been a long shot from there. You know that, but it was tough. A 66-yard field goal were you confident that would go through? That s tough. It was windy out there as well. You know, I didn t know what to expect. I mean you are hoping hoping for the best. Obviously, you know, the odds are against you you know that. Hail Mary s are what they are, but were you ready for it? Yeah, I was getting ready for it. You know once they were reviewing it, it looked like it was going to come back. You know, that s Coach s (Andy Reid) decision. I was getting ready for whatever we were going to do there whether it be throwing it up in the end zone or kick it, so yeah, just trying to stay ready.

In the second to last drive, you guys were third and six, you almost had it to (Jeremy) Maclin. Yeah, we got the on-on-one over there and didn t connect. You know, got to get it done. It s a big play in the game changes the game. You know, got to connect. Was it just a good play? No. Obviously, he was pressed and we knew that. He was battling on him. There is just so many little nuances within that route out there. I am thinking one thing, he is thinking another, and then, you re off. How do you rally the guys back as quarterback? Yeah, you know, for me, I think as much as it hurts and it does hurt it s frustrating. It s not fun to be out there playing like that. We know we re so much better than that. But, nonetheless, we did it. We put that out there, especially in that second half. For me, there are two choices: I mean, yeah, you can let this get to you. We have a lot of football left. You can get sidetracked, you can get distracted, you can make excuses. Or we all can look internally, we can stay together, and we can fight, and we can try and get this thing turned around, and focus on next week and not get ahead of ourselves. We don t need to be looking at anything beyond that and try and right the ship. Jeremy Maclin said, There is no difference between what you guys are doing in practice and in games you just aren t winning games. Is there a simple fix, a simple explanation for what s been going on with the offense? I mean the simplest one is to execute and get it down, I mean all away across the board. We didn t do that in the second half didn t get any momentum besides that first drive, didn t get much going. We didn t help the defense out and didn t change field position. All those things in a game like this add up. If you get a couple of them done even just moving the ball, and get some first downs, and eat up some of the clock, rest the defense and change field position can change the game.

Arizona Chicago Cardinals Bears Sunday, October 11, 2015 Sunday, August 20, 2005 Game 5 Post Game Quotes Postgame Player Quotes Players DB RON PARKER How frustrating is it when you think you have a stop and then you see a flag for pass interference? It s really frustrating when you re on the defensive side of the ball, you work so hard to stop the opposing offense. And then you give up a play like that and we get tagged with a pass interference. That kind of breaks everything down, and we have to start over on defense and just fight through every call. What changed in those last couple of drives? Why did they start having success? Jay Cutler did a good job of just finding open receivers. He s a good, mobile quarterback. He just creates a little bit of time back there. He found a little extra time that he was getting all day, and he was able to hit receivers down field. It seemed like the pass rush was better today, is that accurate? Oh yeah, I feel like the defensive line, they did a good job up front today. Cutler was getting the ball out of his hands quick. It s making it tough for them to get back there and put a lot of pressure on him when you re getting the ball out quick. He did a good job of getting it out of his hands quick and letting his receivers make plays. RB CHARCANDRICK WEST I know this isn t how you wanted it to happen, but are you ready to be a featured back? I m just going to step up and do my part. Whatever they call on me to do, I m going to be there. It s heartbreaking to see one of my friends go down, my brother go down. Whatever the team needs me to do, I m going to be ready to do that. What have the coaches said to you about going forward? We haven t heard anything. They told us me and Knile (Davis) we re both going to play, we both have to be ready to step up. We know our big brother went down, so it s time for us to step up. What was your immediate thought when you saw Jamaal Charles go down? Charles is one of the tougher guys in the NFL, so I m thinking he s going to get up. But to see that, it brought tears my eyes. It s a heartbreaking moment. Emotionally, what kind of impact did it have on you guys? It s like a brother. When a brother goes down, that s heartbreaking. Even from an opposing team, I never want to see anyone get hurt. It s a tough one to swallow. Emotionally, how do you guys get off the mat after this? We have to finish. This is not a team, this is a family. Families when something goes wrong, you can t go point fingers. We just have to stay together and come through stronger. WR JEREMY MACLIN

On Jamaal Charles injury: It s unfortunate, a guy like that and what he means to this team and the type of player he is. Obviously you don t want to lose anybody. He s a dynamic guy and one of the leaders on this team. I haven t heard much of what s going on, so we ll see. What was your initial reaction when you saw him not getting back up? I sat there and I took a knee and said a prayer just praying for the best. How much does Charles leadership and impact on the team weigh on how much his injury hurt? It s all a part of it. Like I said, what type of person he is, what type of player he is. It s all very unfortunate. How much do you think that changed the momentum of the game? I don t know, I m not a big believer in all that. I think we had so many opportunities to win this game and we blew it. We don t have anybody to blame but ourselves. As a veteran, how do you guys dig out of this hole? You have to fight. We have to fight for our jobs, we have to fight as a team together. TE TRAVIS KELCE On offense in the first half: Yeah, it seemed like we were clicking. The offensive line played well and Alex (Smith) was hitting us when we were open and yeah, we were clicking. We felt good, just in the second half you ve got to finish. Been saying that for four weeks now. So just have to finish. What have you guys been going the past four weeks to get this thing right? Everything you can think of man. Everybody s staying late, extra stuff on the field, extra stuff in the offices and the classrooms. It s not a matter of want, it s a matter of going out there and doing it. And it just rips your heart out man. Where do you think the disconnect is happening? We re going to have to look on film and see what happened this week. K CAIRO SANTOS How many times have you made a 66-yard field goal? In training camp I hit one from 65. With the wind I ve hit 65, 67-yards here at Arrowhead with the wind, but into the wind, I tried some. I tried 57 and 58 in warmups and that was absolutely our max. I felt like if I pushed it, just swung as hard as I could like I did, I could ve made it but just couldn t hit the ball. On hitting a field goal at that distance: Just swing hard. I knew it was outside my range so I just swung as hard as I could and hoped for a chance. Was it intimidating to kick that far? No, I had nothing to lose. I knew it was outside my range but we had to give it a chance, given the circumstances. So we tried our best. WR CHRIS CONLEY On pass interference call on Marcus Peters: It s not my job to make those calls. That s what the referees are here for. Marcus has a lot of passion, and he plays really hard. He felt like he shouldn t have had that call in there. But it s up to us to make the plays throughout the game so that we don t get in those situations.

How will Jamaal Charles being out impact the passing game? We always try to take pride in our passing game. We have great vets guys who have played in this league for a long time, between (Jeremy Maclin) and (Jason Avant). They know how to get open in this league and if we don t have Jamaal we ve got to do what we ve got to do to help this offense run. And we ve got to continue to separate, we ve got to get open, we ve got to break down this tape and see where we made errors. We ve got to do better next time. How would you rate your progress at this point? I m feeling good about it but I ve still got a lot left to do. I ll have to work.
