Course of Fire for Classes -Unlimited sighters are permitted for all classes within the time limit. Classes V, C, & U Unlimited sighters are permitted within the time limit. 1 st Stage Six minutes to fire five shots for score at nd Stage Six minutes to fire five shots for score at rd Stage Nine minutes to fire five shots for score at 500. Class D 1 st Stage- Six minutes to fire three shots for score at nd Stage- Six minutes to fire three shots for score at rd Stage- Nine minutes to fire three shots for score at General Rules 4.1 Target: The target is an outline of a groundhog. The groundhog outline has concentric scoring rings with the smallest center ring being a 10 on 200 & 300 targets and an X on the 500m target. The largest outside ring on all targets is a six ring.
3 4.2 Scoring: The shooter receives the point value of the ring the bullet touches. For shots outside the scoring rings the shooter receives five points if the bullet is in or touches the edge of the groundhog outline. The shooter receives a zero score for bullets on the paper but not in or touching the groundhog. 4.3 Outside Edge Scoring: The shooter receives the score for the highest ring the bullet touches. If the edge of the bullet touches the outside edge of the ten ring, for example, the shooter receives a ten score. 4.4 X-Count: The shooter receives a score of 10 and an X if the bullet hole is touching the X ring on the 500 meter target. Or is clean within the 10 ring on the 200, 300, or Deer Hunter target. 4.5 Cease Fire Command: A shooter firing after the cease fire command has been given by the Range Master will loose the highest shot scored on the target. 4.6 Coaching/Spotting: Coaching and spotting is permitted for all Factory Class and Custom Class shooters. But prohibited for Unassisted Class Shooters. 4.7 Extra Shots: If more than five shots are fully into the groundhog section of a target the worst five shots will be scored unless there is an admission of a cross-fire by another shooter or evidence to that effect. If a cross-fire can be determined and which shot(s) represent the cross-fire, the correct shots will be scored. 4.8 There will be no penalty for cross-firing onto another target. 4.9 Ties: Ties (same score and same X count) will be broken by the center of the shot closest to the center starting at the last target shot. If too close to call the second closest shot, then third and so on will be used Sighting In: Sighting in at distances other than the current relay is shooting is not permitted. No sighting in for next distance. The target at each distance has a corresponding sighter target. In addition you may use the swingers or fire into the berm Shooters are to use the same rifle with the same barrel for all three distances. The only exception is in the case of an equipment problem which may necessitate using another rifle. The range master must be informed of this One piece rests are not permitted No wind flag other than those provided by the club will be allowed down range All local, state, club, and BATFE laws apply. 5. Registration 5.1 Juniors under 17 years of age and first time shooters will have the option of shooting one gun for free and relinquishing any prize money they win to the club. Or paying the full registration fee and keeping any prize money they may win. 5.2 A shooter may register with payment for a shoot or shoots up until the call for equipment for the last relay. 5.3 A shooter may register with payment any shooter and/or themselves at any time for any shoot of the current season. 5.4 A shooter registering more than 1 gun in any class must designate each gun by number. Only the highest scoring gun will be eligible for prize money. Scoring 6.1 Scored targets will be displayed after scoring is complete.
4 6.2 Targets are not to be removed until the end of shoot. 6.3 Shooters are responsible to see that their score is correct. 6.4 Any scoring protest will be decided on by three referees appointed by the match committee. 6.5 Please don t be afraid to speak up if your score is incorrect or you were missed as a prize winner. We know we make mistakes. 6.6 Shooters shooting more than 1 gun a Class will always have their guns numbered in the order they are shot. For instance if John Doe shoots 3 guns in Custom class they will be designated as John Doe C1, John Doe C2, and John Doe C3 for Overall Seasonal Class Championship purposes. 7. Payouts Fifty percent of the registration fees are kept by the club One third of the registration fees collected at any shoot are paid out in prizes for that shoot and are distributed based on the number of shooters in a class as follows: 1-3 shooters pays one place (100% of purse) 4-8 shooters pays two places (60% and 40%) 9-24 shooters pays three places (50%, 30% and 20%) shooters pays four places (40%, 30%, 20% and 10%) 40 or more shooters pays five places (30%, 25%, 20%, 15% and 10%) One sixth of a each separate class s shooter registration fees will be kept to pay for the season Overall Class Champions and any record breaking class scores shot Anyone breaking any Custom, Varmint, or Unassisted Class record will receive half of the above money that was in the pot prior to the shoot the record was broken Overall yearly class champions will be paid from the remaining monies in the pot by substituting the number of shooters that have made 4 matches in each class for the number of shooters in any single match s class and using the above formula in section Overall Class Champions for the year The overall class champions for the year will be determined in the following order: a) Shooters will be seeded in order according to the sum of their best 4 scores from the first 6 shoots. Shooters that have shot more than 1 gun a Class will have their guns numbered in the order shot. For instance a person that shot 3 guns at any shoot in Custom Class will have had those guns designated as Doe, John C1, Doe, John C2, and Doe, John C3. Ties will be broken by: 1) Average score for all matches shot. 2) Matches won. 3) Matches finished second. 4) Matches finished third. 5) Coin toss. b) The fourth seeded shooters record will be pared off against the third seeded scorer's record in head-to-head wins and loses in all matches they both shot together. If they both have the same won/lose percentage against each other, the tie will be broken in the following order. 1) Sum of scores in all head-to-head matches. 2) Average score for all matches shot. 3) Matches won. 4) Matches finished second.
5 5) Matches finished third. 6) Coin toss. c) The winner of the head-to-head between the records of the third and fourth place seeded shooters will then be paired against the second place shooter's record d) The winner of c) will be paired against the first place seeded shooter's record. e) Number of payouts will be determined using the same formula as match payouts with the number of eligible shooters in each class being substituted for the number of shooters at a match.
