2 Welcome to our 2015 SC State Skeet Championship. I am pleased to announce that Partridge Creek Gun Club will be hosting this year s championship. As you all will remember, we are having the state shoot in April this year to hopefully have better weather for the coast. We welcome your comments/feedback about the earlier date. I also want to congratulate this year s Honor Roll inductees Doyle Estes and Gary Justus. While Doyle and Gary are not South Carolina residents, they have been long time participants in South Carolina skeet and without their willing and able referee talents our tournaments would be less successful. We are proud to induct these two men into the SCSSA Hall of Fame Honor Roll. Finally, I want to thank our webmaster, David Allan, for his continued fine work on SCSSA s website and Facebook page as well as Tom Hartranft for his dedicated work on the Hall of Fame. I hope all of you have had a chance to view the website. By the way, Dave is always looking for content for the website - especially pictures. While you are at Partridge Creek, please take a walk through the South Carolina Hall of Fame located in the main clubhouse. Tom Hartranft deserves great credit for his efforts to update our records and the significant improvements that have been made to the Hall of Fame. Please plan to attend this year s state championship at Partridge Creek Gun Club and enjoy the food and friendships with other skeet shooters, the Honor Roll induction, our state business and awards ceremonies. We will not have the 2014 SC state team compiled in time for this tournament and we are planning to make those awards at the Hall of Fame shoot at Partridge Creek later this year - keep your eye on the Website and our Facebook page for the announcement of the team and the HOF shoot at Partridge Creek. They need not be from the same club or shoot on the same squad. Five man teams will be formed by a blind draw, adjusted for equality, from all SCSSA members shooting all four guns. The drawing will be conducted Saturday morning, April 18, by the SCSSA officers. 6

7 SHOOTOFFS Ties for all honors, awards and purses will be resolved by shootoffs doubles from stations 3, 4, and 5. Miss and out by station. HANDICAP TABLE GAUGE AA A B C D E x x x GENERAL: This is an NSSA registered shoot and will be conducted in accordance with current NSSA rules. Shooters are responsible for having their record cards up to date, including HOA and HAA classification. NSSA enrollment will be available for non-members. All SC resident competitors must be SCSSA members. SCSSA 2015 enrollment will be available for non-members. At the time of registration, SCSSA will request 2015 dues ($20). Qualified referees will be in charge of all shooting. Qualified participants wishing to referee should contact Mike Malone, at or Mike at mikem1120@hotmail.com. All protests must be filed in accordance with NSSA Protest Rules. The 2015 officers of the SCSSA will serve as the Protest Committee. Participants must provide shells for all proofs and shootoffs. SCSSA representatives reserve the right at any time, to alter this program. They also reserve the right to refuse entry to, or to discharge, participants whose behavior is not within the spirit or the rules of this championship. 7

9 AWARDS 1. This will be an open shoot. All shooters are eligible for NSSA honors and optional purses. Awards for the South Carolina State Championship will be given to SCSSA members only except for 6. below. 2. Buckles will be awarded to champions and runner-ups in each event, HAA and HOA, Junior, SubJunior and Lady HOA champions 3. Medals will be awarded to class champions and runners-up in doubles, each gauge, HOA and all HOA concurrent champions and runners-up except Junior, Sub Junior and Lady 4. Buckles will be awarded to Champion of Champions and runner-up. The sum of the scores of the last box of shells shot in each of the four gauges will determine the score. Eligibility for participation requires the winning of a gun championship at a South Carolina registered skeet shoot since and including the 2014 State Championships. 5. Medals will be awarded to the Five Man Team and Two Man Team HOA champions and runner-ups. Plaques will be awarded to Husband/Wife Team Champion and runner-up. 6. Buckles will be awarded to the Out of State HOA champion and runner-up. 9
