There are NO prizes. It is about playing to have fun and participation. HPNC will provide an Ice Block on the last night for ALL players. We encourage you to dress up or wear a funny hat for the last game. Prizes for best dressed teams! Please Note: There must be an adult responsible for the team. Each team needs to supply their own umpire. If your team is Year 1 Year 4, the coach can umpire & coach during the games. You can book an umpire from our Umpires Pool. The cost is $10 per game. Junior Summer League COMPETITION RULES/INFORMATION Teams All teams are to report to the control office at the front of the main building on arrival for every game. This must be the Coach or Manager.

3 Junior Summer League COMPETITION RULES/INFORMATION Teams All teams are to report to the control office at the front of the main building on arrival for every game. This must be the Coach or Manager. Team Registration Cards Your completed Team registration form must be handed to the office prior to your first game. There must be a minimum of 7 players recorded on the team card. Any additional players are to be added to the team card on the day of the game. A team may register up to 12 players. Names must be registered with the control room prior to the start of the game. *Penalty for playing an unregistered player: NO win points and a further loss of 2 points. Games (Year 1 2 games are self timed Year 3 8 games are electronically timed) Year 1-2 Games are 2 x 12 minute halves with rolling subs - Modified rules (4 v 4) Year 3-4 Games are 4 x 10 minute quarters with rolling subs - Modified rules (5 v 5) Year 5 Games are 4 x 10 minute quarters with rolling subs Modified rules (6 v 6) Year 6 8 Games are 4 x 10 minute quarters (normal netball rules) (7 v 7) Points: 4 for a win: 2 for a draw: 1 for a goal difference of 3 or less Injuries We do not have St Johns in attendance during the Junior Summer League, so it would be advisable to have a small First Aid Kit on hand. Ice packs will be available from the control room if required. Cancellations Games to be played wet or fine. Games will not be cancelled unless the weather conditions become dangerous. In the likelihood of this happening, please check our website for cancellations. Any cancelled games will not be rescheduled. Team Requirements Each team must supply a scorer. Each team to supply a regulation match ball. Each team to supply their own umpire or book a paid umpire. NO Scorecards for Year 1 4 teams. Defaults All defaults must be notified to the Office prior to the scheduled game. Phone or phone Wendy Soper on or development@hpnc.org.nz if giving more than 24 hours notice. If your team is notified of a default by , please acknowledge receipt of default via return . Uniform Matching coloured tops to be worn by all teams. Code of Conduct Unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated in any form from any member or spectator.

NNZ GENERAL CODE OF CONDUCT & ETHICS As a member of NNZ you must meet the following requirements in regard to your conduct during any activity held by or under the auspices of NNZ, a Zone or a

Unacceptable behaviour (as defined below) will NOT be tolerated from any member or spectator. NNZ GENERAL CODE OF CONDUCT & ETHICS As a member of NNZ you must meet the following requirements in regard to your conduct during any activity held by or under the auspices of NNZ, a Zone or a Netball Centre and in any role you hold within NNZ, a Zone or a Netball Centre: Respect the rights, dignity and worth of others. Be fair, considerate and honest in all dealings with others. Be professional in, and accept responsibility for your actions. Make a commitment to providing quality service. Demonstrate a high degree of individual responsibility especially when dealing with persons under 18 years of age. Be aware of, and maintain an uncompromising adhesion to NNZ standards, rules, regulations and policies. Operate within the rules of netball including national and international guidelines which govern NNZ, the Zone and Netball Centre s Understand your responsibility if you breach, or are aware of any breaches of this Code of Conduct & Ethics. Do not use your involvement with NNZ, a Zone or Netball Centre to promote your own beliefs, behaviours or practices where there is an inconsistent with those of NNZ, a Zone or a Netball Centre. Wherever possible avoid unaccompanied and unobserved activities with persons under 18 years of age. Refrain from any form of abuse towards others. Refrain from any form of harassment towards, or discrimination of, others. Provide a safe environment for the conduct of any netball or netball related activity. Show concern and caution towards others who may be sick or injured. Be a positive role model. PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT AND ETHICS As a player in any netball or netball related activity held under the auspice of NNZ, a Zone or a Netball Centre you must meet the following requirement in regards to your conduct during and such activity or event: Play equally hard for yourself and your team. Your team s performance will benefit and will yours. Treat all players as you would like to be treated. Do not bully or take advantage of another player. Control your temper, any verbal abuse or deliberate contact. Abusive behavior is unacceptable. Play according to the rules of netball and the principles of fair play. Never argue with an umpire. If you are concerned, talk to your coach or captain. Be a good sport; Cheer all good play from both your team and the opposition. Appreciate and cooperate with your coach, team mates and officials. There would be no game without them. Take responsibility for your performance on and off the court.

5 COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT AND ETHICS As a coach in any netball or netball related activity held under the auspices of NNZ, a Zone or a Netball Centre you must meet the following requirements in regard to your conduct during any such activity or event: Promote the Player s Code of Behaviour with players at every opportunity. Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every individual as a human being. Maintain high standards of integrity. Be a positive role model and act in a way that projects a positive image of coaching. Be Professional. Make a commitment to providing a quality service to your players. Provide a safe environment for training and competition. Protect your players from any form of personal abuse. Develop and promote team respect for opponents as well as calls made by the officials. PARENTS AND SPECTATORS CODE OF CONDUCT AND ETHICS As a parent/guardian and spectator of netball or netball related activity held under the auspices of NNZ, a Zone or a Netball Centre you must meet the following requirements in regard to your conduct during any such activity or event: Support the removal of verbal and physical abuse from the game. If you disagree with an official, raise the issue via the appropriate channels rather than question the official s judgment and honesty in public. Teach children that effort is as important as victory, so that the result of each game is accepted without due disappointment. If children are interested, encourage and support them to play. Avoid forcing children to play if reluctant. Children learn by taking risks and making mistakes, encourage and support this. Remember children are involved in netball for their enjoyment not yours. Recognise and value the importance of coaches and other volunteers who give up their time and resources to provide netball they deserve your support. Applaud good play by players on both teams. Encourage children to play to the rules of the game and respect umpires decisions. UMPIRES CODE OF CONDUCT AND ETHICS As an umpire in any netball or netball related activity held under the auspices of NNZ, a Zone or a Netball Centre you must meet the following requirements in regard to your conduct during any such activity or event: Respect all people regardless of race, colour or position. Umpire the rules without fear or favour. Uphold the standards of the New Zealand, Zone and Centre Umpire Awards. Display high standards of behaviour and personal appearance which promote a positive image of netball and umpiring at all times. Support and encourage other umpires. Be courteous, respectful and open to discussion and interaction. If unqualified, ensure you have a clear understanding of the rules of the game and apply these in a consistent manner.
