This year was no exception. Football fans from all over the Boise valley saw BJC defeat Weber College at the Homecoming game with a tremendous score of Again this year the team won the honor of playing in the Potato Bowl at Bakersfield, California. Although losing this game 26-13, the team put on a good show and we have truly seen a "decade of champions." BJC ended its season with a record of 17 wins, 5 losses, and a conference record of 9 wins, 3 losses, a good performance in anyone's book. An average score 69.9 points per game against 58.3 of our opponents was attained by the team. The scoring attack for the Broncos was led by Dale James and Bob Meyer, the two high scoring guards for the Broncos. One of the stalwarts of the team was Dean Baxter. Dean lead the team in rebounding and was one of the top scorers. Baxter was selected as all-conference and all-region forward. 9 The Boise Bronco baseball nine tied last year's win record with only half of the season over. They started the season by losing three games to the College of Idaho, but bounced back with four straight wins, including: NNC, once,- Eastern Oregon, twice, and also Mountain Home Air Base. Pitching was the strong point in the Boise attack throughout the season and many outstanding individual mound performances set the way to victory by the Boise squad. The hitting improved steadily in the latter part of the season and added the offensive power which was lacking in the earlier part of the year. With the combination of strong pitching and fair hitting, Coach Smith turned out one of the best Boise diamond squads that has been seen in recent years.
