2 Beth Keylon-Randolph BETH KEYLON-RANDOLPH, WHOSE coaching resume includes over 650 victories, 10 conference titles, six Coach-of-the-Year selections and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Championship, begins her third season as East Carolina s head softball coach after officially accepting the position on Oct. 25,. Keylon-Randolph and the Pirates are coming off of a 2014 season in which they racked up 28 overall wins and 14 league victories. East Carolina finished in its final season in Conference USA and earned a No. 6 seed in the C-USA Tournament to run its streak to 10 straight C-USA Tournament appearances. With Keylon-Randolph at the helm, the Pirates put together a six-game winning streak from February 23 March 8 that included a three-game sweep over Tennessee Tech. During that stretch, East Carolina won 10 of 12 games to close out non-conference play and move into conference action. East Carolina s success on the field translated into several post-season awards as Kristi Oshiro, Chelsea Kaluhiokalani-Glackin, Shelby Johnson and Abby Wynne were named to the 2014 All-Conference USA Second Team. At the conclusion of the season, Jill Jelnick earned C-USA All-Tournament Team honors as well as her third straight Conference USA All-Academic Team selection. Additionally, Oshiro and Johnson went on to earn NFCA All-Region honors, while seven Pirates (Gabby Andino, Sarah Christian, Alex Fieldhouse, Jelnick, Lydia Ritchie, Caroline Umphlett and Wynne) were named NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes. Keylon-Randolph began her career at East Carolina with a 21-win season in which the Pirates earned a No. 5 seed in the Conference USA tournament after compiling an league record. She piloted the Pirates to a winning streak of seven straight conference victories from April 7-21 to tie for the fifth-longest streak in school history. Under her tutelage, ECU had three All-Conference USA selections in Jordan Lewis and Kristi Oshiro earning Second Team honors, while Meredith Mitchell secured a spot on the All-Freshman Team. Off the field, Keylon-Randolph stressed academics as Jelnick and Sarah Christian were selected to the 2013 Conference USA Softball All-Academic Team. Jelnick went on to earn Capital One Academic All-District 3 First Team accolades. Prior to coming to East Carolina, Keylon-Randolph served 11 seasons as head coach at Chattanooga State, where she also held the title of Assistant Athletics Director and served as the chairman of the Faculty Advisory Committee. In her 11 campaigns with the Tigers, Keylon-Randolph coached Chattanooga State to a (.836) overall record and nine regional titles in addition to a run of conference championships. Beginning with the 2002 season, CSCC won the Region VIII Tournament eight times and finished ranked in the Top 20 for 11 consecutive years, including No. 1 standings in 2009 and. In, Coach Keylon-Randolph topped off her list of impressive accomplishments by leading Chattanooga State to the NJCAA National Division I Championship. The Tigers finished among the NJCAA s Top 15 statistical leaders in hitting seven times during her tenure, including second in In the circle, her 2008 squad posted the lowest team ERA in the nation. Internationally, she was selected as co-head coach of Team USA in 2007 and helped the squad to victories over Japan, Australia, China and the Czech Republic during the World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand. She began her coaching career as an assistant at alma mater Tennessee Tech and played a role directing the Golden Eagles to an Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Championship. She was a part of the TTU staff for two seasons ( ) before accepting a position as an assistant coach at South Carolina in While with the Gamecocks, Keylon-Randolph helped South Carolina to the 2000 Southeastern Conference Tournament title and consecutive NCAA Regional appearances in 1999 and She then spent the 2001 season as an assistant at Tennessee-Chattanooga, where she developed the Southern Conference Pitcher-of-the-Year and was part of the Mocs SoCon Tournament championship team. An outstanding student-athlete, she was named the 1994 Tennessee Tech Female Athlete-of-the-Year as well as the Ohio Valley Conference Player and Pitcher-of-the-Year after leading the Golden Eagles to an undefeated regular season and conference championship. She was the first player in league history to win both honors concurrently. In the classroom, she was also a member of the OVC Commissioner s Honor Roll. In the spring of 2004, Keylon-Randolph was selected to Tennessee Tech Softball s Inaugural Wall of Fame and was inducted into the school s Sports Hall of Fame. She graduated from the Cookeville institution with a degree in biology in the same year she opened the KFA Softball Academy, where she has instructed over 2,500 young women in all aspects of softball skill instruction and development. Keylon-Randolph and her husband, Scott, have two sons, Cole and Trey.

4 Steve Jaecks Assistant Coach STEVE JAECKS ENTERS his third year as an assistant coach at East Carolina, after joining Beth Keylon-Randolph s staff shortly after her arrival prior to the -13 season. Jaecks assists with player fundamental preparation, practice management, recruiting, game operations, and works directly with hitters and catchers. He is simply one of the best softball minds in the fast-pitch game anywhere in the world, Keylon-Randolph said. He knows the game inside and out having played it professionally and coached it for over 30 years. Coach Jaecks is also a strong recruiter and an amazing judge of talent, Keylon-Randolph continued. He has been invaluable to me throughout my coaching career and is an asset to our program here at East Carolina. In his two seasons with the Pirates, Jaecks has helped East Carolina to 49 wins and a pair of Conference USA Tournament appearances. He has been an integral part of the staff garnering six all-conference selections, one all-freshman honoree, three all-academic recipients, one all-tournament selection, a pair of NFCA All-Region team member and seven NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes. Jaecks joined the ECU staff after spending the last eight years working as an assistant coach at Chattanooga State (Tenn.) Community College. Under the direction of Keylon-Randolph and Jaecks, the Tigers posted a record. In addition to serving as an assistant softball coach, Jaecks also worked as CSCC s director of athletics beginning in As the school s AD, he was involved in all aspects of the intercollegiate athletic department including compliance, eligibility, scholarships, strategic planning, budget management, facilities, fundraising, public relations and all the hiring in the department. Prior to his appointment as the athletics director at Chattanooga State, Jaecks worked as an associate professor of physical education at Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tenn., from 1980 to While at Southern Adventist, Jaecks also worked as the softball coach and director of sports, intramurals and campus recreation. As a premier fast-pitch player, Jaecks earned a reputation as one of the top run-producers in the game. A 25-year veteran who played across the country, he earned the Chattanooga Softball Player of the Year honor in 1986 while playing in the Dixie Major Fast Pitch League; a league in which Jaecks was co-head coach of a team that won 100-consecutive games. He earned numerous batting awards and MVP recognition during his career, while also showing his defensive versatility as a catcher, first baseman, second baseman and in all three outfield positions. Jaecks started his career in athletic administration at his alma mater, Loma Linda (Calif.) University, in 1978 as the Director of Intramurals. Jaecks graduated from Loma Linda with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1980 before earning his master s degree in education from the University of Chattanooga in He and his wife Carmen, who works in a private university, have an Alaskan Malamute named Pepsi. 5 Keli Harrell Assistant Coach KELI HARRELL, EAST Carolina s all-time saves leader, returned to her alma mater as an interim assistant softball coach in January The hiring of Harrell marks her second stint on the Pirates coaching staff as she previously served as a graduate assistant from Harrell played an integral role guiding ECU to lead the league in several pitching categories, including earned run average (1.45), strikeouts (467) and wins (44). Under Harrell s tutelage, Toni Paisley broke the East Carolina single-season strikeout record with 356, a mark which Harrell had previously held. Paisley went on to collect Conference USA Pitcher-of-the- Year honors on three separate occasions and was a two-time Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-America selection. She was named 2009 C-USA Female Athlete-of-the-Year and was a Lowe s Senior CLASS Award Finalist. In her final year on staff, Harrell helped lead East Carolina to its first-ever Conference USA Tournament Championship as the Pirates made an appearance in the NCAA Regionals for just the third time in program history. As a student-athlete, Harrell established the Conference USA career strikeout record after fanning 948 batters in her four years in the circle. She was named the 2006 C-USA Pitcher-of-the-Year and earned All-Conference USA accolades on two occasions as well as NCCSIA All-State honors in 2004 and The eight-time C-USA Pitcher-of-the-Week ranks in the top 10 in every single ECU pitching category, including leading the program in saves (14), while ranking second all-time in appearances (167) and strikeouts (948), as well as standing third in games started (124), complete games (101), innings pitched (894.1) and shutouts (32). A native of Greenville, N.C., Harrell finished her collegiate career with 88 wins against 48 losses for a.652 winning percentage, good for the eighth-highest mark in program history. She tossed three no-hitters and compiled an ERA of 1.84 to rank sixth all-time at East Carolina. Following her departure from ECU, Harrell served as an assistant softball coach at Queens University of Charlotte during the 2011 season where she helped the Royals to their third-straight 20-win season. That year, Queens came up just short of advancing to their third consecutive Conference Carolinas championship game in a 3-1 loss to Lees-McRae. Since 2011, Harrell has served as a family and consumer science teacher and softball coach at South Central High School in Winterville, N.C. In her three years at the helm of the Falcons, Harrell led the squad to a pair of Coastal Conference 3A Championships and guided Kayla Harris to back-to-back pitcher-of-the-year honors in and Harris also won conference player-of-the-year accolades in Harrell has also been working as a private pitching instructor since Under her instruction, former D.H. Conley High School pitcher Rachel Weidner earned Pitt County Pitcher-of-the-Year honors in 2013 and followed that with Coastal Conference Player-of-the-Year accolades in 2014, as well as district pitcher-of-the-year honors and was a First Team All-State selection. 6 Softball Support Staff Blaine Kinsley Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Lenoir-Rhyne, 10 BLAINE KINSLEY IS in his third season with the East Carolina strength and conditioning staff. He is primarily responsible for working with baseball, softball and tennis, while assisting with football. Kinsley came to ECU after spending 16 months working in the Chicago Cubs organization as the head strength coach for the Peoria Chiefs, the Cubs Low Class A affiliate. While in Peoria, Ill., he was responsible for implementing the strength and conditioning program and injury prevention. Prior to his time in the Cubs organization, Kinsley interned at Hendricks Motor Sports where he was responsible for assisting with workouts for the Pit Crew in the summer of Kinsley, who also has three years of coaching experience, served as an assistant Babe Ruth coach at the Greenville Parks and Recreation ( ), has worked baseball camps at the University of Virginia (2009) and was an assistant development JV Coach at Lenoir-Rhyne (2010) where he worked with the pitching staff and coached third base. A native of Greenville, N.C., Kinsley earned his bachelor s degree in sports management with a minor in health and exercise science from Lenoir-Rhyne, where he was a four-year letterwinner in baseball and two-year letterman in football for the Bears. Jennifer Rangelova Associate Athletic Trainer Iowa State, 08 JENNIFER RANGELOVA IS in her seventh year at East Carolina and her third as an associate athletic trainer. In her current role she is responsible for the softball program as well as the ECU dance team. From 2010-, she served as an assistant athletic trainer at ECU and was in charge of both the softball and women s soccer programs. Rangelova started her career with the Pirates working as a graduate assistant in the athletic training department covering the sports of volleyball and softball from Prior to joining the East Carolina staff, Rangelova earned her Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology and health with a concentration in athletic training from Iowa State University in While earning her degree, she was a student trainer for the Cyclones football, women s soccer and women s volleyball teams. Rangelova is a licensed athletic trainer in North Carolina as well as a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association. She completed her master s degree in exercise and sport science with a concentration in sport management from East Carolina in May The Sioux City, Iowa, native is the daughter of Mitch and Tonya Merrill. Rangelova and her husband, Atanas, currently reside in Greenville. Lindy Zamora Assistant Director of Media Relations UCLA, 07 LINDY ZAMORA IS in her third year with the East Carolina media relations department and is the primary media contact for the softball, volleyball, and the men s and women s track and field programs. She previously worked with women s basketball from -14. Zamora came to East Carolina after serving as a sports information staff assistant at the University of Redlands (Calif.). At Redlands, she assisted the sports information office at football, volleyball, men s and women s basketball, baseball, and softball games. Prior to her stint at Redlands, Zamora was the assistant director of athletic communications at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. At ASU, she oversaw all media relations efforts for volleyball, women s basketball, and baseball. In addition, Zamora was responsible for managing statistical reporting, organization and coordination of the press box and media areas for volleyball and baseball, as well as maintaining the social media platforms. Zamora gained experience working as an intern in media relations at The Summit League and Loyola University Chicago. At The Summit League, she was responsible for overseeing all aspects of media relations for men s soccer, cross country/track and field, swimming and diving and softball. She had the opportunity to work as the media liaison at numerous championship events including The Summit League Men s Soccer Championships, the Indoor Track and Field Championships, the Softball Championships, as well as assisting at the Men s and Women s Basketball Championships. At Loyola, Zamora was responsible for the media relations efforts for the men s soccer, cross country/track and field, and men s volleyball programs. She also assisted at the Horizon League Softball Championships. As an undergraduate student at UCLA, Zamora worked in the athletic department both in the sports information and marketing offices. In sports information, she worked primarily with the Bruins baseball team as the official scorer. With UCLA Baseball, Zamora also had the opportunity to write feature stories as well as conduct interviews and distribute statistics. Zamora returned to her alma mater to assist with the media relations efforts at the 2010 NCAA Division I Los Angeles Baseball Super Regional, where she ran statistics to ESPN and managed the post-game media at Jackie Robinson Stadium en route to UCLA s trip to the 2010 Men s College World Series in Omaha, Neb. A native of Redlands, Calif., Zamora graduated from Crafton Hills College in 2004 with an Associate s Degree in mathematics and earned her Bachelor s Degree in English from UCLA in Zamora and her cat, Lilly Lou, reside in Greenville, N.C.
