XIV; NO. 14 GREEN BAY, OCT. 16, 2012 WEEK 7 GREEN BAY (3-3) AT ST. LOUIS (3-3) Sunday, Oct. 21 Edward Jones Dome Noon CDT PACKERS CLOSE OUT ROAD SWING IN ST. LOUIS Green Bay closes out its three-game road trip with a visit to St. Louis this Sunday to take on the Rams, the third meeting between the clubs in the last four seasons. This is the second straight season that the teams have squared off in October. In 2011, St. Louis visited Lambeau Field in Week 6, a game the Packers won, The Packers have won three straight in the series and six of the last nine. Green Bay trails in the overall series, , which includes two playoff meetings (1-1). The Packers beat the Rams, 28-7, in the 1967 Western Conference Championship in Milwaukee. The franchises met every year but one from , with the lone exception coming in 1943 when the Rams didn t field a team. Green Bay improved its record to 3-3 with a victory at Houston as the Packers handed the Texans their first loss of the season. It marked the first time since 1997 that Green Bay had beaten an undefeated team with five or more wins (5-0 Tampa Bay, Oct, 5, 1997). This is the first time since 1998 (Weeks 10-12) that the Packers have played three consecutive road contests. Green Bay and Houston (Weeks 12-14) are the only teams in the league with three straight road games on the schedule in The Rams are 3-0 at home this season. Including playoffs, Green Bay is 11-3 (.786) away from Lambeau Field over its last 14 games. The Packers have won eight of their last 11 regular-season road contests (see page 16 for more). The Packers have won 20 of their last 24 regular-season games overall (.833), the best record in the league over that span. Following Sunday s contest at St. Louis, Green Bay returns home for the first time in nearly a month to host the Jacksonville Jaguars at noon on Sunday, Oct. 28. It will be the first of two straight home games for the Packers, their only contests at Lambeau Field over an eight-week period (Weeks 5-12). Green Bay closes its season with three of five games at home. DOME SWEET DOME This week s contest at St. Louis will be the third straight game played indoors for the Packers (Weeks 5 and 6 at Indianapolis and Houston). It marks the first time in franchise history that Green Bay has played in domes in three consecutive weeks. It is the third of five indoor games on the schedule (at Detroit, at Minnesota) this season, the most in franchise history in the regular season (four games in 1987, 1992, 1996, 2004, 2009). Under Head Coach Mike McCarthy, the Packers have a 16-7 record (.696) indoors, including playoff games. That ranks No. 3 in the NFL in road/neutral games since 2006 behind only the the N.Y. Jets (6-2,.750) and the N.Y. Giants (11-4,.733). Including playoffs, the Packers have won six of their last seven games played indoors, the lone loss coming at Indianapolis in Week 5. The Packers have averaged yards per game and 30.7 points per game in their 23 dome contests under McCarthy (see page 2 for more). QB Aaron Rodgers has a career passer rating indoors, No. 1 in NFL history (min. 200 attempts). Green Bay s defense has generated 50 turnovers in the 23 dome contests since 2006, including nine games with three-plus takeaways. 3 PACKERS AT RAMS WEEK 7 INSIDE MEN Sunday s game will be Green Bay s third straight contest indoors, an environment the Packers have had success in during Head Coach Mike McCarthy s tenure. Since McCarthy took over in 2006, the Packers are 16-7 (.696) in dome games (including playoffs). That ranks No. 3 in the NFL among teams with eight or more road/neutral dome games behind only the N.Y. Jets (6-2,.750) and the N.Y. Giants (11-4,.733). McCarthy won his first six dome games as head coach before the Packers fell just short at Minnesota in a loss on Nov. 9, In 18 of the 23 dome contests, the Packers have posted at least 345 yards of total offense (14-4 record in those games). A look at some of Green Bay s offensive averages indoors compared to outdoors since 2006 (including playoffs): Outdoors Indoors Points Total Net Yards Net Passing Yards QB Aaron Rodgers has a passer rating in 18 career starts in domes (including postseason), with 5,349 passing yards, 44 TDs and just seven INTs on passing (67.9 percent). He has eclipsed the 300-yard passing mark in 12 of 18 games and has thrown three or more TD passes in nine of them. Of his top five single-game yardage totals, three have come indoors, including a career-best 423 yards at Arizona in a Wild Card game (Jan. 10, 2010) and 396 yards at Atlanta in Week 5 of A look at where some of Rodgers statistics indoors since 2008 rank among active QBs in the NFL (including playoffs): Passer Rating 1. That has contributed to Green Bay s plus-22 turnover ratio indoors since ROLLING ON THE ROAD Since taking over as the starter in 2008, QB Aaron Rodgers has been one of the most effective signal-callers in the league away from home. Rodgers has posted a 100-plus passer rating in 11 of those 14 games. STAT OF THE WEEK In Green Bay s win at Houston on Sunday, QB Aaron Rodgers matched the franchise record with six TD passes against the Texans. It marked only the second time in team history that a Green Bay QB threw six TD passes, with the other instance coming just last season in Week 17 (Matt Flynn, Jan. 1, 2012, vs. Detroit). Rodgers outing on Sunday topped his previous career high of five TD passes vs. Chicago last season in Week 16 at Lambeau Field on Christmas. It gave him two games with five or more TD passes over his past seven regular-season starts. He became the first quarterback in franchise history to record two five-td outings over a seven-game span, besting Brett Favre s franchise record of two five-td games over a 17-game span in Rodgers threw for 338 yards and no interceptions at Houston to become just the fourth QB in league history to throw for 330-plus yards, six TDs and zero INTs in a game. He joined Tom Brady (twice), Mark Rypien and Y.A. Tittle. Rodgers became the first QB in NFL history to throw for six TDs against an undefeated team with five or more wins (Houston, 5-0). Rodgers joined Favre (three games) and Lynn Dickey (two games) as the only QBs in team history to throw five-plus TD passes in a game on more than one occasion. 2

The Packers hosted New Orleans in Week 4 in a matchup of the two highest-scoring teams in the league in Both teams have finished in the top 10 in total offense every season since 2006, the only teams in the NFL to accomplish the feat over that span. Starting with a trip to Indianapolis this past Sunday, Green Bay will play on the road for three straight games (also at Houston and St. Louis), the first time the Packers have had three consecutive road games since the 1998 season (Weeks 10-12). All three contests could be indoors (Indianapolis and Houston have retractable-roof stadiums). Green Bay returns home for back-to-back games at Lambeau Field (Jacksonville and Arizona) before its Week 10 bye. The Packers come out of their open week with back-to-back road contests against a pair of 2011 playoff teams (Detroit and N.Y. Giants), the second straight season they have played those teams on the road in consecutive weeks. Under McCarthy, the team has won five of six games immediately after the bye week and 12 of its last 16 after the week off dating back further. Overall, the Packers are (.655) after the bye under McCarthy, and since 2000, the team is (.651) following the week off. The Packers wrap up the regular season with three of five games in December in front of the home crowd, including divisional matchups against Minnesota and Detroit at Lambeau Field in Weeks Four of Green Bay s final five games and five of its last seven will come against NFC North foes, capped off with the season finale at Minnesota. It is the sixth time in seven seasons under McCarthy that the Packers have finished the regular season with a divisional matchup (5-0 in season finales vs. the NFC North since 2006). The Packers will play five games indoors (Indianapolis, Houston, St. Louis, Detroit, Minnesota), which is the most in a season in franchise history (four games in 1987, 1992, 1996, 2004, 2009). Fourteen games are slated for Sunday this season, including each of the final 13 contests, with one Thursday night game and one Monday night contest. Nine games are scheduled for noon (CT) starts with two games currently slated for 3:25 p.m. (CT). The Packers have six games on the schedule against 2011 playoff teams, beginning right away in Week 1 vs. San Francisco. The other matchups come against New Orleans (Week 4), Houston (Week 6), Detroit (Weeks 11 and 14) and the N.Y. Giants (Week 12).
