The teams first met in with Mount Union winning Mount Union leads the all-time series Marietta has won eight of the last 10 meetings. LAST MEETING: Mount Union snapped Marietta s 21-game winning streak with a upset in Alliance on Feb. 11th. OAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Junior post player Eddy Grenert was named the OAC Player of the Week after averaging 16.5 points and 7.5 rebounds last week. It is the second time this season he has been named Player of the Week. He notched his fifth double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds against Ohio Northern. For the week he hit 58.3% of his shot attempts and was 4-of-10 from three-point range. LONG RANGE BOMBERS: Who shoots the last second threepointer? That s a tough question for opposing defenses as 15 different Pioneers have sank three-pointers this season including post players Garrett Stephenson, Eddy Grenert, Andy Stegman, Jack Thome and A.J. Davis. DEEP, DEEP BENCH: Head Coach Jon VanderWal doesn t hesitate to go to his bench, and with good reason. The Pioneers have 13 players averaging over five minutes per game. Of those 13, eight are averaging over 5.0 ppg. OAC TOURNAMENT: Marietta will be trying for its third OAC Tournament championship in the past five years.
