1 2015 SUMNER COUNTY TOUNAMENT GUIDELINES: *Each team (boys/girls/cheer squad) will submit a team roster including managers, bookkeepers, videographers, coaches, etc. and 5 additional names can be submitted for the boys and girls teams to be included on the pass list at the gate. *Cheerleaders, basketball players, managers will be admitted free to any tournament games, but must sign in on their team roster at the Pass List table. *All Sumner County employees will be admitted free with school ID. *Coaches' and Administrators' spouses and children will be admitted into the tournament at no charge if their name is on the school Pass List. All other Sumner County s employees' spouses, children, family members and/or friends must pay to get into the tournament. *TSSAA passes will be honored. *Press and media passes will be honored. SIGNS: s will be allowed one sign to be posted in their seating area. NO BALLOONS. BAND: Pep bands will not be allowed. MEGAPHONES: Megaphones will not be allowed. NOISEMAKERS: Noisemakers will not be allowed. TOURNAMENT SEEDS: Tournament seeds will be based on the number of wins during the regular season. If there is a tie, the following procedures will be used: 1. If two teams have identical records and one team has beaten the other team during the regular season, then the team who won will be the higher seed. 2. If two teams have identical records and each team beat the other once during the regular season, then the team who beat the highest seeded team will be seeded higher. 3. In the event this procedure will not resolve a tie, a coin toss will determine the higher seeded team. The tied teams will be assigned a "Heads" or "Tails" based on the alphabetical order of each school's last name involved in the coin toss. The tournament director, Portland East Middle 's coaches, and school administrators will be present for the coin toss. ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS: The All-Conference team will consist of 15 boys and 15 girls. Coaches will not be allowed to vote for players from their own school. The players selected to the All-Conference team should be selected based on regular season performance. ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAMS: The All-Tournament team will consist of 13 boys and 13 girls. The teams will be selected as follows: First place team: 3 players (chosen by the coach of that team) Second place team: 2 players (chosen by the coach of that team)

2 Third through tenth place teams: 1 player each (chosen by the coach of that team) COACH OF THE YEAR: Coach of the Year will be selected, in the boys' and girls' division, by the head coach of each team. TROPHIES: Team trophies will be presented to both the regular season and tournament champion and runner-ups. Individual awards will be presented to members of the All- Conference and All-Tournament teams. A plaque will also be awarded to the Coach of the Year in both the boys' and girls' division. OFFICIALS: Officials will be provided by MTBOA. SECURITY: Security will be provided by the Sumner County Sheriff s Department LOCKER ROOMS: Will be assigned each night upon arrival. UNIFORMS: The higher seeded team (home team) will wear light colored uniforms and sit to the right of the score keeper. The lower seeded team (away team) will wear dark colored uniforms and sit to the left of the score keeper. CHEERLEADERS: Both teams will have their cheerleaders positioned along the sideline opposite of the player benches. HOSPITALITY: A hospitality room will be provided for coaches, administrators, officials and their spouses on Saturday, Monday, and Thursday. The pass list at the gate will serve as the pass list for the hospitality room. CONCESSIONS: Portland East Middle will operate the concession stand and keep all profits. PARKING: Parking is available in the school parking lot in the front and side of the building in designated parking spots. Please ask your fans not to park in the driveways or on the grass. These areas must be kept open for emergency personnel, if needed. INCLEMENT WEATHER: Games will be rescheduled if school is canceled or dismissed early due to inclement weather. No school, no games. Early closure, no games. TICKET PROCEEDS: Ticket proceeds will be divided evenly among all participating schools after all tournament expenses have been deducted.
