Whether you are a long-time member or a prospective first-time donor, I want to emphasize the importance of your decision to contribute to the TSF. Your support is vital to the success of our 487 student-athletes in the classroom, in the community and in competition. As the costs of education and the resources necessary to maintain and improve our department continue to escalate, so does our need for private giving. There is strength in numbers and we are asking for the support of the Mizzou Family. Although you will not make a tackle, hit a home run, make a shot, or score a goal for the Tigers this season, your generosity will do the next best thing. It will provide the foundation necessary for our success success that molds our student-athletes into the leaders of tomorrow and success that results in Championships. Thank you and Go Tigers! In Black and Gold Spirit, Michael F. Alden Director of Athletics Mizzou Ticket Office P.O. Box 675 Columbia, MO Phone 800-CAT-PAWS or PAWS

4 Mission of the TSF The mission of the TSF is to provide annual scholarship support for Mizzou student-athletes and to generate private funding for endowments, capital projects, and other needs as prioritized by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Gifts to the Tiger Scholarship Fund are utilized in a fiscally responsible manner to prepare champions for life and to enhance and instill the three core values of the Athletics Department which are: Academic Integrity Social Responsibility Competitive Excellence Why We Need Your Help Athletics is the Window Through Which the University is Often Viewed: Athletic competition and athletic success is important to the University of Missouri. Financial stability in athletics ultimately breeds success and success breeds pride among our many alumni and friends. Studies have shown that winning more importantly, winning the right way (in compliance with NCAA rules and with great team effort) can be a tremendous recruiting tool for the general student population as well as for potential student-athletes. In addition, athletic accomplishments often provide an invaluable public relations advertisement for Mizzou while also serving as a catalyst for philanthropy to all areas of the University. WAYS TO GIVE Cash Donations Most gifts to the TSF take this form and it is as easy as writing a check or using your MasterCard, Visa or Discover card. Checks should be made payable to the Tiger Scholarship Fund. Securities You may eliminate paying capital gains tax and receive an income tax charitable deduction for gifts of long-term appreciated securities. Gifts in Kind Gifts of goods or services can be of great financial assistance to the Athletics Department while offering the donor a tax deduction for the fair market value of the gift. Please consult your tax advisor and contact the TSF for further information. Matching Gifts Many companies will match your contribution to the TSF. Submit your company s matching gift form with your contribution and it can significantly increase your support and associated giving level. Memorial Gifts Remember a friend or a loved one with memorial gifts to the TSF. Estate Planning You may donate through will provisions, life insurance and other bequests. Estate gifts may be made by donating a designated amount, a real asset or making a residual bequest. Payroll Deduction and Bankdraft Withdrawal Please contact the TSF if you are interested in the convenience of payroll deduction or automatic bankdraft withdrawal to make your annual gift. Self Supporting Athletics Department: The University of Missouri does not receive state appropriated funds to operate its intercollegiate athletics program. Thus, similar to private business, the Mizzou Athletics Department must operate solely from what revenue it generates. Gender Equity: Title IX states that an athletic program must provide equitable facilities, scholarship funding, and participation percentages for women s sports in relation to men s sports. MU has made a firm commitment to the participation and success of our women s programs. This commitment is evident in the recent national rankings of our softball, volleyball, golf, soccer, swimming and gymnastics teams. Currently, MU sponsors 11 women s varsity sports with 148 student-athletes receiving scholarship aid accounting for 45% of the overall scholarship budget. Season Ticket and Television Revenue is Not Enough: Football and men s basketball season ticket and television revenues are not enough to adequately support the total intercollegiate athletics program. Rising scholarship costs, escalating team travel expenses, and the need for modern facilities require that new sources of revenue be discovered.

5 new in The only thing constant is change Anonymous The TSF will make every effort to alert its donors to changes in the priority seating and parking programs with as much advance notice as possible. A summary of some of the more significant changes for 2008 is below and explained in more detail throughout this guidebook. Many of our policies and procedures have not been updated, changed or modernized for over 15 years. Thank you for your understanding and compliance with these new initiatives. Annual Giving and Ticket Priority Deadline The new TSF priority giving deadline is now June 15. Due to anticipated high ticket demand, the deadline will be strictly enforced beginning in Donors run the risk of forfeiting their priority seating locations from previous years should they miss the appropriate deadlines noted on page 12. Faurot Field Priority Seating Areas Sections F, FF, O, and OO at Faurot Field (located approximately between the 10- and 20-yard lines) will now be designated as donor sections and require a minimum $25 per seat TSF contribution. Priority seating in these sections will rise to $50 per seat beginning in 2009 and remain at that level through at least the 2010 season. Rows 1-9 of Sections G through N ( between the 20s ) on the west side of the stadium will also be annexed as donor seating and will require a minimum $25 per seat TSF contribution beginning this season, which will increase to $50 per seat in The TSF per-seat gift requirements will actually be lowered from $500 per seat to $400 per seat in sections I through L (between the 35-yard lines, above row 9) on the west side of the stadium and in sections II through LL on the east side. However, the per seat requirements in these sections will be strictly enforced in order to eliminate the small number of inconsistencies that have built up over the past 15 or more years. (Please see pages for more information on the priority seating program at Faurot Field.) RV Parking Season-long, RV parking passes in Lot O (adjacent to Hearnes Center) will be offered and sold exclusively to TSF season ticket holders for $250 based on availability. RVs will no longer be allowed in Lot M Lot M RV pass holders who qualify to renew will be relocated to Lot O in RV passes in Lots C and G will be sold as renewals only. Car passes may not be used as RV passes. (Please see pages for more information on TSF Priority Parking.) Individual-game, RV parking passes in the back of Lot O will be sold for $100 per game if availability remains after season-long, TSF-donor RV parking passes are allocated. Tiger Lounge Club Seating at Faurot Field The season ticket cost in Tiger Lounge at Faurot Field will be increased to $400 per seat beginning this season. The minimum TSF per seat contribution will remain the same ($1,500 per seat). In addition, approximately 40 back-row barstool seats will be sold on a season basis in the Tiger Lounge in For more information, or to be placed on the waiting list, please contact the TSF at The Priority Points Program will be the determining factor in all new Tiger Lounge seat requests. TSF Donor Levels The Bengal Club and Varsity Club giving levels have been combined into one (Varsity Club) with a giving range of $500-$999. Two new donor levels have been added to the TSF program. The new TIGER SCHOLAR donor level ($15,173) reflects the cost of an in-state student-athlete scholarship for one year and the new LEGACY SCHOLAR donor level ($25,119) reflects the cost of an out-of-state student-athlete scholarship for one year. Reserved Football Parking The Mizzou Athletics Department will become the final school in the Big 12 North to charge for reserved football parking passes beginning in TSF donors who purchase football season tickets will have the exclusive option of ordering season-long, reserved parking passes for $100 each. Proximity to the stadium and the number of passes that may be ordered in advance will be based on each donor s annual giving level and the TSF Priority Points Program, not the number of season tickets purchased. (Please see pages for more information on the TSF parking program.) The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is committed to improving the game day experience for fans by: eliminating over-crowding of the parking lots, improving security and traffic flow (via the new Mick Deaver Drive extension), providing more courtesy golf cart shuttles and offering more temporary restroom facilities. Note: General Public (non-donor) parking will be available on game days in multiple on-campus locations on a first come, first served basis. Pricing will vary from $0-$15 per vehicle in these designated lots based upon proximity to the stadium. No TSF membership or season ticket purchase is required to park in these locations.

(See page 17 for the maximum number of passes that donors may order.) * The donation levels listed are the minimum necessary to qualify for ordering priority in each lot. However, meeting the minimum does not guarantee that donors will receive a permit for that location. ** Due to the variation in availability and the number of requests received each year, Priority Points totals play a critical role in the final allocation of permits. The Priority Points totals listed above are based on the allocation for 2007 football parking passes and only serve as an estimate for the 2008 season. (See page 10 for more information on the Priority Points Program.) Lot assignments and allocations will be finalized in July/August annually. Locations are subject to availability. If your selected lot is sold out you will be assigned the next best available lot. Improper orders will be allocated to the proper lot without notice

Please note that a single gift to the TSF on or before June 15 can provide donors with both football and basketball season ticket priority. For example, a $1,000 gift to TSF would offer a donor the priority necessary to order four football season tickets in the Royal Blue sections at Faurot Field (see p ) based on availability and also offer the priority necessary to order four season basketball tickets in Area 7 based on availability

13 Tiger Scholarship Fund Frequently Asked Questions The following Q & A is intended to provide you with some general information regarding your participation as a TSF donor. Please contact the TSF staff for more information at Q. What do I need to do to have the option to purchase football tickets for the games vs. Kansas in Kansas City and vs. Illinois in St. Louis? A. It is the goal of the TSF and Mizzou Ticket Office to offer an option to purchase tickets to these neutral site games to Champion Club level donors ($1,000-$1,999) and higher and also to all 2008 full price football season ticket holders based on availability. Q. What if I was in one of the Green non-donor seating sections in Faurot Field in 2007 and do not want to make the requested TSF per seat gift amount to remain there in 2008? A. Your seats may be moved closer to the goal line into one of the Gold Sections (see page 14-15) which are general public season ticket locations requiring no TSF gift. It is the goal of the TSF and Mizzou Ticket Office to work with those that choose this option to find the best possible seat relocation. Q. What happens if I do not return my TSF gift and season ticket/parking application by the appropriate deadlines? A. Due to anticipated high demand for TSF priority seating and reserved parking, the deadlines will be more strictly enforced in TSF gifts and season ticket orders received after the deadlines may result in the forfeiture of your previous year s season ticket and/or reserved parking locations. NEW TSF donors that join after the June 15th deadline will have their orders filled after those that met the necessary deadlines and will be based on availability. Q. Why is the Department of Athletics charging $100 for each season-long, reserved parking pass in the donor lots beginning this football season? A. This has been under consideration for a number of years. MU will be the final school in the Big 12 North to institute a charge for reserved football parking passes. Costs associated with the operation, security, and clean-up of the lots in 2007 exceeded $150,000. Funds generated from the sale of reserved parking passes will offset this expense. In addition, the revenue will enable the Department to further improve it s customer service by eliminating the over-crowding of the lots, improving security and traffic flow, providing more courtesy golf cart shuttles and offering more temporary restroom facilities. (Please see pages for more information on TSF donor parking.) Q. i want to improve my seat location. How does the upgrade process work? A. All upgrades are based on your TSF annual giving level, Priority Points total, and availability. Unfortunately, not all requests can be honored. Be specific on your request. Mention the desired location, section, or row. Also, include several options for your desired seat changes. Upgrade requests should be made in writing and submitted with your season ticket application (not your TSF membership application). The only exception to this is if you would like to be placed on the premium seating (suites/club seats) waiting list please make this request by phone or mail direct to the TSF Office. Q. When are season tickets and parking passes mailed? A. Football season tickets are mailed in the middle of August. Basketball season tickets are mailed in early November. Parking passes are mailed under separate cover from season tickets. Q. Do I need to purchase a ticket for my infant/child, even though he/she will not occupy a seat? A. All children above the age of two must have a ticket for admission to Faurot Field and Mizzou Arena. Q. if I join the TSF before the June 15 deadline will I receive a football and men s basketball season ticket and reserved parking option? A. Yes. Q. My company has a matching gift program. What do I need to do to make sure the matching gift is applied to my annual donation? A. Contact the TSF and we will assist you in your matching gift request. Your company s matching gift form should be attached to your TSF application (see page 29) if possible

14 Special Projects Support for the projects listed below is sincerely appreciated by Mizzou s coaches and student-athletes, and benefits the overall Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Gifts to these programs add to donors Priority Points totals (see p. 10) but they do not offer donors the benefits detailed on pages including priority season ticket and reserved parking options. 3 Point Club 3 Point Club gifts provide annual support directly to the men s basketball program for financial needs above and beyond the program s operating budget. The revenue generated by the 3 Point Club is used at the discretion of the Head Coach for basketball program enhancements (with approval from the Director of Athletics). Membership in this exclusive group requires a $7,500 pledge payable over a five year period. Donors are invited to exclusive functions, including socials with the coaching staff and closed practices periodically throughout the year in which their gift is made. Extra Point Club Extra Point Club gifts directly benefit the Mizzou Football program. The revenue produced by the Extra Point Club is utilized at the discretion of the Head Football Coach for football-specific program enhancements (with the approval of the Director of Athletics). Membership in this exclusive group requires a $15,000 pledge payable over a five year period. Donors are invited to exclusive functions, including socials with the coaching staff and closed practices periodically throughout the year in which their gift is made. NEW All-American Society Recognition in the All-American Society is reserved exclusively for those who have truly gone the extra mile in support of the Tigers. All major gifts and pledges of $100,000 or more, above and beyond season ticket priority, qualify for involvement, as do estate gifts of $500,000 or more and donor Priority Points totals that exceed 3,000. All-American Society members are invited to exclusive events with Mizzou head coaches, student-athletes, and administrators throughout the year and are recognized on campus. Membership is granted for life once the aforementioned criteria are met. Champions for Life Locker Campaign Former student-athletes have the opportunity to leave a legacy for the next generation of Tigers. Locker sponsorships are available in conjunction with the football, men s basketball, women s basketball, baseball, soccer, and softball programs. A recognition plaque will be prominently displayed on the front of a locker and the donor name will be included on a plaque just outside the entrance to the team locker room (Note: Only former student-athletes can sponsor a locker). Lockers may be sponsored from $1,000 to $5,000 depending on the sport and may be pledged over a maximum three-year period. Big Wheel Program The Big Wheel Program consists of car dealers from across the state of Missouri and beyond that donate the usage of new or low mileage vehicles to Athletics Department coaches and staff. The purpose of the program is to aid in the areas of recruiting, scouting, public relations and fundraising. Big Wheel donors receive complimentary tickets and reserved parking for the season in football and/or men s basketball, and are recognized at the TSF Gold Club level. Mizzou Performance Club The purpose of the Mizzou Performance Club is to supplement the University of Missouri s strength and conditioning program which benefits all 20 sports. The Strength and Conditioning program is currently recognized among the nation s elite. Funds generated via this program aid in purchasing new and cuttingedge training equipment, refurbishing existing equipment, and continued staff development. Mizzou Women s Connection The Mizzou Women s Connection is designed to create awareness and enthusiasm for Mizzou Athletics, while encouraging the involvement of women at various special events, athletic events, and socials. Gifts In Kind Program Gifts of goods or services can be of great financial assistance to the Mizzou Athletics Department while offering the donor a tax deduction for the fair market value of the gift. Please consult your tax advisor and contact the TSF for further information. Olympic Sports Giving Philanthropic gifts to benefit our Olympic sports programs truly do make a difference and are sincerely appreciated by our coaches and student-athletes. Contributions to Olympic sports are 100% tax-deductible. Many teams at the University of Missouri rely on private support for locker room improvements, equipment purchases and many other expenses not covered in their operating budgets. For more information, or to support the special projects noted above please contact the TSF office at

Major gifts or contributions not associated with ticket priority are automatically 100% deductible. Only the individual or company making the gift is eligible to take the tax deduction.
