Western Carolina s 39 points scored against South Carolina State ties for the second least amount of points the Catamounts have scored this season as they also scored 39 in the loss to Kentucky. The team s season-low was 37 against Campbell earlier in the season. The Catamounts closed out the month of December with a 2-2 record, including the team s first road win of the season at Winthrop. In those four games, WCU has two players averaging in double figures led by Martin Ruiz s 11.5 points per game and 11 by fellow junior Tess Harris. Judith Martin Ruiz s 14 points, against South Carolina State, was a season-high and five points shy of tying her career-high of 19 points. 2 GAME NOTES PLAYER TO WATCH: Three consecutive double-figure scoring performance, upping her seasonal best scoring in all three games, makes junior Judith Martin Ruiz the player to watch. In the last three games, she is averaging 11.5 points per game and also dished out a career-best nine assists against Winthrop.
