HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES

Dear Parents & Potential athletes, We thank you for considering joining our program. We know that there are a lot of programs in the area, but we believe there is no one like us. Our program is made up of elite families that are brave enough to pursue the basketball dream. We understand that achieving the basketball success desired will come from hard work and a never ceasing desire to improve and tackle all challenges. We are a program of True Scholar athletes (Min GPA 3.0) that will take on all challenges and use each moment as a learning experience that moves us closer to our goal. No excuses ever. Please understand we are not a recreation program, rather a competitive program that participates in events design to give your son/ daughter an opportunity to compete against other competitive clubs. The SA Basketball program consists of select 2 nd - 8 th grade boys & girls that are from all over the Bay Area. We come together to compete in various competitive AAU tournaments throughout the country. The Dub City Basketball program is an open tryout and participation system. We will not turn a child away based on current ability; it is our job to develop the skill set of our athletes.. -Coach Phil Williams

FAQ S What is AAU? AAU stands for Amateur Athletic Union. The AAU is a national organization and is one of the largest, non-profit, volunteer, sports organizations in the United States. The AAU is dedicated to the promotion and development of amateur sports and physical fitness, such as with SABC Basketball program. What travel events does Student Athlete Basketball participate in? The SBC Basketball Teams participate in Nike, Adidas, YBOA, USSSA, and the AAU youth Basketball tournaments. My child has never played travel basketball is this league too competitive for them? Not at all, our coaches are here to develop your child. The higher grades are more competitive and players new to the sport may find it a little challenging in the beginning but will catch up in time. How do I register once my son/daughter is selected for a team? All players must fill out the registration packet and submit all documentation requested along with participation fees to be place on roster officially. When are practices? Each coach sets his or her own schedule. Typically teams practice one or twice a week, but the schedule will vary by team. Practices are in local area gyms. Practices start now. When are games? We play in two local tournaments per month. All tournaments SB participates in have a minimum of 2 games guaranteed and tournament play usually begins on a Saturday morning and continues on Sundays. First games start around 8am and last game could start around 8:30pm on Saturdays and on Sundays we are usually done by 5pm. How much does it cost? The participation fees are listed on registration form. The participation fees cover the cost of gym practice, game time, the number of tournaments that the teams plays in, equipment, monthly skills training, coaches salary, membership fees, player insurance etc. Uniform fees are a separate one time fee. What is the team policy on playing time during games? We have no play time guarantee. All players are expected to perform and minutes will be earned. Players that we are unable to put on court will be reviewed for continued participation in program. How many players will carry per team? 9-12 How far and how often does the team travel to play in tournaments? We play in local tourneys the majority of the year and travel events 3-4 times a year.

PARENT CONTRACT 1. I understand that I need to pay my season fees before the season begins, or at the very least, make arrangements with the program director as to paying the fee in a timely manner. 2. I understand the importance to my child and his/her team that I get him/her to practice and tournament games on time. The team is counting on him/her promptness and that the team suffers when he/she is not on time or not present for practices or games. 3. I understand that I have a responsibility to raise money to fund monthly tournaments and the National Tournament in July, by participating in club approved fundraisers. 4. I understand that undermining the coaches at a practice or game does not promote a positive atmosphere for our program. 5. I understand that I may be jeopardizing my child s playing time and spot on the team should he/she be placed on academic probation at school. 6. I understand that the Saints Basketball practice and play at the highest-level possible that each team can handle, and that the SB standards are to play to win each and every game. I do know that the Saints will not win every game and that I need to conduct myself in the proper SB manner in the stands. 7. I understand that the SB do not make any promises coming into the Season about playing time for any player. I understand that the stands, team dinners, hotel or parking lot at a tournament game are not the time to discuss that issue. The proper time to discuss playing time issues is before a practice or after a practice. Each player must earn his/her time on the court by competing for a starting spot and demonstrating teamwork and sportsmanship. 8. I understand that should my child be removed from the program, whether it is by my actions as a parent or guardian or by his/her own actions there will not be a refund for that removal. 9. I understand that each team is on a budget and that there will be No refund given back should my son/daughter or myself decide not to play after making a team. 10. I understand that if there s a need to fill a certain position on the team to compete in a National Tournament, coaches may feel the need and have the authority to pick-up additional players to complete the roster. 11. I understand negative social media postings is grounds for immediate removal from SB program and I will be will responsible for behavior of friends and family I invite to tournaments and practices. By signing the form below, I understand and agree to all of the rules and regulations above. I know that this contract has been put into place to make my experience with the SB Basketball Club the best it can be. We are here to watch our sons or daughters grow as players and develop the skills of teamwork and sportsmanship. Athlete Name (s): Parent/ Guardian Printed Name: Parent/ Guardian Signature: Name:

PLAYER CONTRACT 1. I understand that I have to stay off of Academic Probation in school to stay on my SAINTS BASKETBALL CLUB team during the season. 2. I understand that I have to compete in practice to the best of my ability for my playing time in tournament games and in any scrimmages. 3. I understand that I need to respect all of my teammates. I will not send e- mails, tweets, snaps or any social media to talk bad about my program, or talk negatively behind my teammate s backs. I will not post/reply negatively on Facebook, Twitter and or on any social media networks. My goals are to make my team and myself the best it can be and being negative or jealous of my teammates does not make us a team. 4. I understand that I cannot talk my way into getting playing time. The best way to achieve playing time is by demonstrating hard work and commitment. 5. I understand that I need to get to practice and games on time, and that I need to be prepared to practice and play hard before each event. 6. I understand that if I have a negative attitude towards any coach or player, or towards a referee or opposing player, that my playing time will be reduced and if it continues, I can be removed from my team. 7. I understand that I am a Player and that I have a standard that has to be upheld when wearing a SB Jersey. I have to play hard, demonstrate sportsmanship and be respectful of everyone around me. By signing this contract, I promise to follow the rules and regulations of being part of the SAINTS Basketball Club. I understand that if I do not follow these rules and regulations, I can be removed from this program. Athlete Name: Athlete Signature:
